The best hair salon in Georgia! Very High class. Salon is beautiful. Staff is extremely nice, helpful and very skilled, and super professional. I’ve been coming here for 8 years. Every single time has been amazing! Love the owner, Mrs. Pari as well. She’s lovely! I highly recommend.

Went there today to have my eyebrows threaded. Helen did an amazing job. She took her time and was very thorough. I like the threading over waxing. It seems to last much longer. The price was very Ireasonable, around $ 10.00. I would highly recommend Helen at Nuvo for this service. I really like the salon too, very calming atmosphere.

I just moved to the area and was looking for a new hair stylist. I’ve been getting full highlights in my hair for over 15 years, so I know the drill. I shop at the Whole Foods across the street and thought this salon would be convenient. I checked out their website and it looked nice. Then I found a groupon for a full highlight, deep conditioner, and a cut so I figured why not give it a go. I had an easy time scheduling the appointment. I made it clear that I wasn’t just using the groupon, I was hoping to find a permanent salon. When I went in, I was greeted then shown to a chair. The stylist never gave me her name. She was friendly though. I told her I wanted a full highlight to get rid of my 1 ½ inch roots. I like white blonde, not gold, and as far as the cut goes, trim about an inch and maybe cut some layers into it. I was immediately told that they would be charging me $ 25 because my hair was longer than shoulders length. To be fair, it says this in the fine print of the groupon, I’ve just never been charged it before. I am pregnant and there shampoo bowls have no support for your lower back, like not even the back of the chair. All she did for the cut was trim, nothing else. When she dried my hair, I still had roots, as if she had done nothing. Seriously. So she set out to put more foils in. She was kind about it. She starts telling me I like chunky highlights and I said«no, I’ve always had fine highlights but I do know they have to use a bunch of foils. I want it to look natural.» At this point, her next client shows up, 2 ½ hours for a full highlight and cut is never enough time, no wonder she rushed through it. I sat for about 30 plus minutes with these foils in and when she washed my hair, she barely even rinsed it. At this point she had another client, so I told her I could just rough dry it to help out. She tried to insist but I get it, no worries. I started drying my hair and another stylist came over to finish it, which was nice. Here’s the kicker. It’s chunky. It looks unnatural and underneath I still have roots. Like I can’t wear it in a ponytail. The top part where she put the most foils already has ½ inch of roots like it has already grown out. It’s gold, not white, and it had so much left over shampoo and conditioner in it I had to go home and wash it out. I also went and got a purple toner to try to help with the brassy color. So I paid the discounted groupon price of $ 78, plus the $ 25. The full price would have been just under $ 200. I still tipped 20% on the full price because she had to do a lot of work, but now I’m home and I’m still unhappy. I don’t get why I was charged the $ 25 when the only product she put on my hair was the color just at the roots and the cut wasn’t even a cut, it was a trim. No layers or anything, just an inch off the bottom. I am seriously disappointed and feel like my hair is a wreck. Not to mention it took 4 ½ hours! So blondes, skip this salon, and I’m still looking for a salon.

I just loved to the area August of 2014 and needed a new salon. I went on groupon and Nuvo had a great deal for color cut and deep conditioning treatment. And it was only $ 55 they honor it every time. So I go about every six weeks and I see Helen. She does a fantastic job. She cut 10 inches off of my dead hair and I came out looking amazing.

Take it from a happily-newlywed husband: Pari does a great job on Ms. G’s hair – which has looked consistently great in the three years we have been together. She also accommodated my son once, in a pinch, and did a great job. Ms. G has *never* needed to go back to Nuvo for a redo or had«buyer’s remorse.»(Ms. G is a great hairstylist in her own right – she cuts my hair – but never has to go back and fix her own.) I am, without hesitation, able to tell Ms. G that she looks great and she has no difficulty taking me at my word. Pari also creates great highlights and cuts for Miss E. They are both able to come home and move forward with their weekend, looking great. The salon does have a toned-down and quiet ambience, not like a pumped-up runway show or club. Nuvo is the place for surgically-accurate technical expertise, and great results, not«you go, girl!» high-fives, mindless chatter about their Instagram postings, sleeve tats, the best type of chocolatini, or faux-clubby bonhomie.(Whatever women talk about at the salon without men present – don’t ask me.) I know as I sat through my son’s cut. With blaring electronic club music and a chatty hairstylist – as seems to be more typical – who could concentrate? I know this from years of going to barber shops showing«Walker Texas Ranger» or «The Andy Griffith Show» reruns on the TV in the background: the chattier and more relaxed, or distracted, the the crafts(person), the sloppier. The«experience» is not being handed a glass of wine when you sit down(a gimmick some places rely on), but how great you look when you leave and for the next month or two.

I tried this salon as a walk in client. They were able to accommodate me, which was great. The stylist they gave me was Nelly. I told her I just wanted it trimmed and she agreed and got to work… in silence. The whole place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. No talking between the stylists and customers, no music. I was asked to remove my glasses… which I don’t think I’ve ever been asked to do anywhere else. I was given a blow out that left me with a ton of bounce and curl at the ends, which seemed great… until I looked in the mirror the next day when the curl at the ends had fallen. The left side of my hair was a good inch or more longer than the right. I was out of town but I immediately called the salon and left a message. My phone call was returned the next morning but since I was out of town for the day and couldn’t come that day I had to wait until the following weekend to have it fixed. I returned that following weekend and showed her the issue and she said«I can’t believe I didn’t notice that.» She then proceeded to cut my hair dry to «make sure» and then told me I probably had a cowlick which is why it was uneven the first time. Right. I now have a haircut with extremely blunt ends. I’m waiting for it to grow out a bit before I find somewhere else to go. I will not be returning to Nuvo salon.

Everything about my experience at Nuvo was wonderful! The salon is gorgeous and the stylist was very attentive to my needs. I have thick curly hair and most stylist don’t know what to do with so they either turn me away, try and relax my hair, or turn my hair into an experiment gone wrong but that was not the case at Nuvo. She was able to get my hair super straight and still have a lot of movement to it and body. I will definitely be coming back!!!

Pari, the owner of Nuvo Salon has been doing my hair for almost 20 years. I moved to Marietta in 1999 from NY. It was extremely difficult to find a hair dresser that knows how to do hair in Georgia! I tried many places to include Intrigue which I discovered was giving me a partial highlight, yet charging me for a full. I happened upon Pari when she was working at Hair Cuttery years ago as I couldn’t get an appointment with my usual hairdresser. I gave up thinking I would find the same quality service I was receiving in NY. I was paying NY prices for substandard quality in Georgia. That particular day, I thought I would give Hair Cuttery a chance… after all, I had nothing to lose. I was assigned to Pari and have never gone to any one else since! I followed her to several other salons until she opened Nuvo Salon(long over due). In 2004, I moved to PA for 2 years and would fly back to Atlanta every several months just to have her do my hair! Pari is an experienced stylist who does high quality work and takes pride in every job she does. I am not sure what Christine J is talking about in her review because I assure you, Pari, the owner, examines every client as they leave to ensure satisfaction.(I’m sure Christine J would agree since she too is a business owner, that client satisfaction is vital to a new business.) If not satisfied, there is no doubt that Pari is more than willing to do whatever is necessary to make the client happy. Although, I don’t believe she has control over the weather, such as having your hair done on a rainy day, but I bet she would certainly provide an umbrella if necessary! I can’t imagine a client leaving Nuvo who claims to have a second degree burn on her face without Pari being aware of it. With such a painful burn and an obvious disfigurement on the face, I am only left to ask the question; Why would anyone leave without complaining to the owner? Sounds more like someone was having a bad day and took her frustrations out by posting negative comments that just don’t seem to make any sense… unfortunately Nuvo Salon was her outlet, perhaps a therapist is more appropriate next time? Thank you Pari for taking such great care of my hair(and my family) over the years and congratulations on FINALLY opening your own salon!

I was here on a rainy Friday and walked in without an appointment. My goal was to even out my hair because it was not even at the time. I also wanted to have some waxing/threading done so that I didn’t have to run around the suburbs trying to look presentable for my clients. I trusted that going to this new place with it’s fancy decorations would serve me well. I was grossly mistaken. After a few seconds of sitting in the chair, I felt like I walked into a morgue. There were women working but it seemed like there was no movement in the salon and it was dead silence(no conversations between stylist and client or client to client or stylist to stylist). I had my hair cut first and it seemed that she had only cut a few inches and did not take the time to see if it was even on both sides. Whenever this happens(or whenever individuals are not as detail oriented) I become disillusioned that some beauty salons really are in the business to make people look better. I became even more upset when she blow dried my hair to cover all of the mistakes that she made in making it even. The question I ask myself all of the time when I walk into places like this is, «Can you style my hair so that I can see what you’ve done instead of what you are hiding?» I now have to figure out what to do with the«choppy» job that is left of my less than shoulder length hair. It seems like there are people that haven’t even graduated from beauty school that have made my hair look better than this place. The next service I had done while there was threading and waxing. The threading job was okay considering that this is the second time in my life that she did it. This lady(the second one) was not detail oriented because when she gave me the mirror and left remnants of what she had threaded all over my face! Do my a big favor and show the client the final product that you are happy with after you clean up the area. I don’t know why people do that, but it shows that they(obviously) do not care. The last service(and most noticeable service) that was done was the waxing. Let’s just say that they burnt an area of my face that I had to use all of my concealer on. Try working with clients while they look at a second degree burn for the better half of an hour. I think I went cross eyed that week making sure that it was covered up and nobody would look at that 2 inch area. It’s a beautiful salon — don’t get me wrong. However, I felt so out of place there because after three services, I felt worse than when I walked in. There are a few things that they may need to improve, but maybe they can address the basics first.
