LOVE me some Mtn Biscuit! — something was amiss with our fried cinnamon rolls last time though — they were extremely skimpy compared to the norm … overdone? not sure But you guys rock

My husband found this place when we were in Atlanta. The biscuits are HUGE and delicious! I had a bacon, egg white, and cheese biscuit. Very good! Cannot wait to visit Atlanta again & eat at Mountain Biscuits!

Love the burgers here. I would say they are the best around. The only thing that would make it better would be eliminate the wrinkle fries for fresh cut fries. The taste is incredible. There are no store bought frozen patties here. They have the ¼ pound $ 3.50 and ½ pound $ 4.50 then you just pick the add ons for .75 or $ 1.00. Each If you up for an awesome burger swing in you won’t regret it!

This place never ceases to amaze me. Everything I have here is great. The food, tea, coffee, I love it all! The quality that stands out the most to me though, is the ingredients. I’ve eaten at restaurants that are all about their biscuits, and had lousy ingredients. Mountain Biscuits actually goes beyond that. They care about what they put on the biscuits and use top notch ingredients. The eggs, bacon, pork, chicken, cheese, etc. All of it is really good. My favorite metro area breakfast spot.

AMAZING! Cute little place tucked off a country road near Kennesaw Mountain Park. Fluffy homemade cathead biscuits we had the egg sandwiches on biscuits with amazing grits. The chicken biscuit was huge! Outside seating if the weather is nice. Tiny interior but so worth the visit.

Visiting from Texas and found this place on Unilocal. The people are SUPER friendly, and the breakfast/lunch menu is simple, but not too simple. The biscuits are good-sized, and yummy! I had biscuits and gravy with tenderloin the first day(we went twice). I love good milk gravy, and they did not disappoint. The tenderloin was a tad bready for my taste, but had good flavor. Day two, I had biscuit and gravy with sausage. Yum! The only criticism I have is that there isn’t adequate seating indoors. It was a rainy day, and there were 5 in our party. If your looking for a solid breakfast, this is your place. Just know you may, or may not get a tank inside.

Delicious little breakfast spot! The biscuits are moist and filling. I prefer a more gourmet cheese selection on my sandwich but the unmelted American cheese slice was not terrible. The line moves fast in the morning. Definitely want to try the fried cinnamon roll next time.

Words cannot describe how good this place is! My wife and I were craving biscuits and we googled spots around town and said«sure lets drive 25 minutes and check it out». Boy it did not disappoint! First off you get there and see the long line and think that you are gonna wait at least an hour because the place is small. NOPE! They have this down to a science and most people are just getting to go! The biscuits are made fresh! I mean I’m sure mine came out of the oven, they slapped an egg, cheese and sausage on it and handed it over to me! So damn good! And you must try the fried cinnamon rolls! Wow! This place will now be in our breakfast rotation because of how good it was. It was still faster to drive here and eat and drive home than going down and waiting for 60 minutes somewhere downtown!

Totally delicious and amazing. Small and family owned but definitely worth the drive. I’m extremely picky about my gravy and the gravy here is perfect.

Fantastic Biscuits What more could I say as an intro. We walked into Mountain Biscuits which is about 5 minutes north of Marietta Square in an repurposed Pure Gas Station. It was a cool day and the warm interior felt nice. Dining area is small but cozy with probably no more than six small tables and seating for 4 or 5 at the lunch counter. Menu is posted on the wall but they give you one too. We started with the Coffee and even without the biscuits, it’s worth a trip here just for the Coffee. Our server warned us about the size of biscuits and I’m glad she did. I had a Pork Tenderloin Biscuit that was the size of a small saucer. Moist flaky and the Tenderloin was some of the best I’ve ever had. My wife had Biscuits with Sausage Gravy and unfortunately she was not thrilled. Biscuit was good but the gravy was very watery with very few pieces of Sausage in it. All in all, this is a place I would definately recommend to someone willing to take a few minutes to find this out of the way spots.

This is the go-to breakfast place in Kennesaw. The biscuits are amazing, you can taste that they’re made fresh and homemade every day. The ham biscuits have a huge chunk of ham that you would usually get at a Thanksgiving dinner. The homemade cinnamon rolls are to die for, they’ll ask you if you want them heated up as well to make them extremely soft. This place is definitely a hidden gem in Kennesaw for a cheap, but amazing breakfast. Staff are amazing, and the atmosphere gives you that southern feel.

A biscuit breakfast on a lazy weekend is one of my favorite things about OTP Atlanta lifestyle. Add to that a timeless country charm that doesn’t feel cloying or manufactured and a beautiful fall day and that’s all the inspiration you need to get up in the morning. Mountain Biscuits is a tiny, tiny place that I’ve been driving by for years but never stopped by. Having a serious biscuit addiction worthy of 30 minutes on A&E, I should have stopped years ago. The biscuits are huge, marvelous, and configurable exactly how you want them: pick from chicken, country ham, ham, pork tenderloin, steak, and add egg, cheese, tomato, jalapeños. On our first visit, we tried three specimens: the egg & bacon, pork tenderloin, and chicken. The chicken was by far the best one. The egg & bacon was very good but proportionally off: entirely too much biscuit for too little filling. The pork tenderloin was just overcooked and tough. But holy mother of dragons, that chicken biscuit was amazing. This is quite an accomplishment coming from the land of Martin’s substantial contribution to the field, countless brunch-serving restaurants’ expensive interpretations, and the unimpeachable baseline set by Chick Fil-A. There is lunch available that we have yet to try, along with a dozen other items that piqued my interested but alas, didn’t have the stomach left to try. I’ll add reviews as events warrant.

Yay! It’s my 100th Review! I’d like to thank the academy, my mama, my wife and most of all my Lord and savior. Ha! Okay, in all seriousness, I wanted to save my 100th review for someplace special, not just be any olé spot but an awesome, edible experience! That experience my friend, is Mountain Biscuit! Mountain biscuit should be called«Heaven Biscuit» because that’s where they come from, straight from Heaven! The restaurant itself looks like an old service station(not sure if it actually used to be one or not) which adds this retro, down-home vibe to it. There’s limited seating inside and 3 – 4 picnic benches on the outside. Yep, that’s it, no fancy booths here! Pull up a seat at a picnic table and make some new friends while you’re at it. The ordering process is simple: get on the line, make your order when you get to the register and then you can either wait inside(but it can get pretty cramped) or you can head outside and these sweet folks will come hunt you down and bless your soul with your hot breakfast/lunch. The food: I’m not gonna lie to you, the food here is so good that it feels sinful. It’s nothing fancy; just good, down-home cooking and southern hospitality that fills your heart as much as your tummy. I’ve visited twice so far and both times I left full and happy. The first time I got a fried chicken biscuit with cheese which was then smothered in sausage gravy(told you it was sinful). Man, it was fluffy, buttery and mmmmm! Perfect! I got a crispy hash brown pattie with that and thought my day was made! But then I remembered Nicole L. telling me about their fried cinnamon rolls. Yes, you read that right, Fried. Cinnamon. Rolls! I’m a cinnamon roll freak and it’s hard to find a great one but now you’re talking about FRYING those blessed creations? OMG! I was in Heaven. So warm, crispy but at the same time chewy… wowwww. A few weeks later we visited MB again and was blown away for the second time. As much as I was tempted by breakfast, I decided to try a lunch item because I wanted to have the full experience before writing this review. I ordered a ½lb Burger and nervously decided to order the mountain fries«all the way». I say«nervously» because I’ve seen pictures of them on Unilocal and they looked huge and intimidating and like way too much food for just my wife and I. But, I said, hey, this is my duty as Unilocal Elite to get the full experience so I went for it. Lordy! I can tell you it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The fact that the fries were still crispy underneath all that chili and cheese and pork was amazing to me. It was AMAZING. Several people stopped by our picnic table to drool over those fries. The service was still as good as ever too. Even when the place is at it’s busiest the workers there still smile and talk to you. They ask about your day and seem genuinely interested in getting to know you, a rare experience in food service today. I love MB!

When morning were created, they were created with Mountain Biscuits in mind. I like to believe God sat around on the 7th day and a light bulb appeared over his head. Mountain Biscuits, he thought. With a thunderous bolt, God sculpted Mountain Biscuits out of pure love and southern heart. But he wasn’t done there. No. From there he created the Fried Steak Biscuit. Some say it was created by taking a slice of one of heaven’s clouds and placing it between two sweet, buttery, biscuit halves. I prefer to believe this story. If you are within a 50 mile radius of Kennesaw, I implore you to visit Mountain Biscuits. It will change the way you view life.

Came here for the first time after reading all the glowing reviews on Unilocal.I ordered a chicken biscuit with a side of hash brown and coffee. It is certainly a very friendly place with quick service. I don’t see, though, that the quality of the food and the overall experience justifies all the five star ratings. The biscuit was certainly pretty large, and it was on the light and fluffy side. The chicken inside the biscuit, though, was a little bland. The hash browns were a disappointment. Their hash brown is a thin deep fried patty – kind of a generic hash brown offering, and a little too greasy for my tastes. Seating is very limited inside, but I didn’t have a problem finding a seat outside at their picnic tables. I didn’t get the impression that it was the type of place one could linger at and enjoy a nice breakfast, but instead a quick pick up and go place. Prices are good, with my breakfast coming to $ 8.22, so this is a fairly decent value for the money. However, I’ve gotten a little better quality at a similar price from some other breakfast establishments in the area.

Excellent biscuits with a wide array of choices for add-ons. On my first visit, I tried the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. I will never order one anywhere else ever again. It was soft, moist, flaky and delicious with plenty of bacon and a well-made egg Next time we stopped by was for lunch. I had a chicken biscuit … then another one! My wife stopped me before i ordered the third one … The only(nit-picking alert) complaint I’ve had was with the biscuit with sausage gravy. The gravy was good, but not great(too little sausage) and eating it out of a Styrofoam container was a challenge. The counter staff are friendly AND efficient. It’s tough to be both but they pull it off. My recommendation for anyone looking to spend a day with honest down-home Southern cooking is to head here for breakfast, then down Bells Ferry Road(Church St extension) to Red-Eyed Mule for lunch, then into Kennesaw for supper at Big Shanty Smokehouse. End the day by collapsing on your couch knowing what a wonderful food day you’ve had.

Man… Do they have biscuits!!! Yes, they do!!! :-) Nice big biscuits! I work up the street from this restaurant and never thought twice about it until my manager walked in with this huge steak biscuit one day. I made sure I booked marked it and while heading to work the day after thanksgiving, I decided to stop in. There wasn’t a crowd, just a steady business flow. I ordered a steak, egg and cheese biscuit and I tell you this… It was the best $ 6 I ever spent on a biscuit. It was a nice size biscuit, shaped a little bit different from what I’m use to, but really good. Very buttery. The service was great, the people were really nice, asked if I had been shopping since it was black Friday. All and All, it was a nice visit and I will definitely return. If you don’t look for it, you just may miss it, small building, looks as if it an old gas station from way back when — lol.

I love this place. You can get a delicious biscuit for less than $ 5.They are always perfectly fluffy and buttery. They have chicken, chicken sausage(my favorite), sausage, you name it! These are huge biscuits too. My friend used to call them«cat head» biscuits. They keep honey and biscuit sauce(the sweetest concoction ever created) on the tables for your condiment pleasure. If you’re curious about the open faced biscuit and with sausage gravy, it’s amazing too. For dessert I also got a giant chocolate chip cookie. It was a perfect ending. I keep telling myself I will come back to get their burgers or the smoked pulled pork sandwich(the smokers are in the back). I love to stop by here after a visit to Kennesaw Park or when I have a friend in need of some country biscuits. FYI– this place is small and cozy, Seating is tight and there may be a short lines sometimes but it’s worth it.

When I told the lady behind the register I learned of Mountain Biscuits through Unilocal, she said, «Rock on!» Mountain Biscuits is a small biscuit shop located in north Marietta near Kennesaw Mountain. Though it’s not too far from Barrett Parkway, it feels like it’s out in the country. The restaurant is inside what looks like a small white house. Actually, I think it used to be a gas station. One of those really old gas stations, like the kind you might see in a black-and-white movie. From what I’ve read, this place gets packed on the weekends for breakfast. Luckily, we visited for lunch on a weekday and the place wasn’t crazy busy. There’s a large gravel lot next to the restaurant with plenty of parking. The property has a huge back yard, filled with green grass. Based on pictures I’ve seen on Facebook, it looks like that green space is used for special events, live music, etc. There’s also a smoker out back, where staff told me they smoke their BBQ for 16 – 18 hours. Under cover, presumably where the fuel pumps used to be, are several picnic tables. One side of the building looks like it’s been retrofitted with a special kitchen exhaust system. Inside, the confines are warm and cozy. There aren’t many tables inside, maybe 4 – 5 that seat anywhere from 2 – 4 people each. You can also sit at the counter. There’s a TV behind the counter playing the news. The menu is simple and very affordable. There are separate breakfast and lunch menus. Breakfast is served all day. Plain biscuits start at $ 1.75 and are customizable with any number of ingredients. Meats include sausage, bacon, ham, country ham, chicken, pork tenderloin, steak tenderloin, and chicken sausage. You can also add egg, cheese, tomatoes, and jalapenos. Lunch options include hickory-smoked BBQ sandwiches, burgers, salads, and a Polish sausage along with Southern sides such as fried pickles, Brunswick stew, baked beans, and potato salad. Most of the main lunch items are $ 5 – 7 each with most sides under a couple dollars each. All food is served to-go in disposable bags and containers with plastic cutlery, if needed. Drinks are self-serve out of the fountain machine. I tried a Sausage Gravy Biscuit($ 3.50) with a side of coleslaw($ 1.85). The Sausage Gravy Biscuit consisted of one biscuit split in half and smothered in sausage gravy. It was served in a Styrofoam box. There was so much gravy inside that box, I could barely see any biscuit(photo: ). Nothing wrong with a little extra gravy. The gravy was served piping hot. There was nothing particularly remarkable or distinguishable about the gravy. It was just smooth and delicious. The bits of sausage in the gravy were tiny. The biscuit itself was a bit bigger than I was expecting, both wider and thicker. I think it’s slightly larger than the«standard» biscuit size. The biscuit itself was soft and fluffy. The slaw was OK. The cabbage was finely chopped and the mixture was rather cold, thick, and dense. It definitely would have paired better with the BBQ sandwich, which in hindsight, I should’ve ordered for lunch. Seeing and smelling the smoke rising out of that smoker when I left only confirmed my thinking. Next time. Service was friendly and food came out from the kitchen fast. A lot of locals come here and the staff knows them on a first name basis. [In Southern accents] «How was yer biscuit, Travis?» «Mighty fine if I do say so myself, Darlene!» In summary, Mountain Biscuits has tasty biscuits in a hospitable, mom-and-pop-type environment.
