I have just started frequenting this library. It doesn’t seem to get busy. Seems to be frequented by lots of tutors and small kids. I haven’t gotten into the updated century of libraries after of years of wasting my money in BaN. I don’t really get all the programs for kids and the call and reserve stuff yet. Let me just say, it is a postal stamp size library… but it is larger than the Downtown Kennesaw branch. That’ll make you feel like you stepped back into the 50s.

Ahh Merchant’s Walk Library… I probably kicked Blake in the bottom for being in my way once, when I might have been taller than him. I am a foot and change shorter than him now, bleh. Anyway, this library is small and is in need of change. It needs to join 2007, or at least 2001. In the 80’s it was the place to check out books, hear readings, or try to find crap in microfiche. I hope it has updated itself since I was there in 2001. I can get more off the computer than at this library!

I take back what I said about East Marietta Public Library: this place is by far the smallest public branch I’ve ever seen. It’s all one level and corralled into a room about the size of a small warehouse. Once again, if you’re looking for anything remotely unusual, they’re going to tell you to go to Central by the Marietta Square. The one great thing about this place is they show films for kids. I remember seeing the animated version of the Hobbit back when I was a child. Their schedule tends to vary but a phone call in will get you the info, so if you’re babysitting and want to get out of the house this might be a good place. Also, it’s located right in the middle of Merchant’s Walk shopping center, which is kind of weird, but makes for easy access. I was once asked to leave this location when I was in high school because my friend looked up the word ‘smegma’ in the dictionary.
