I have been here before and thought it was great. My most recent trip has soured my opinion of this establishment. Service is non existent and seems preferential. My entire entrée was forgotten, and I could not find my server to even tell him. He never checked to see if our food was okay, refill drinks, or even bring the bill.

I’ve been coming here for the past 18 years. I haven’t been in a while but it was good to see familiar faces. The food is cheap and good. I especially enjoy the strawberry margarita.

Absolutely love el ranchero! Usually just for a quick bite, but have definitely enjoyed one too many(delicious) margaritas with countless friends!

I’ve come here several times because I live so close, and I’ve got to say this place is pretty terrible. The food is okay at best, but the service is atrocious. I think one of the waitress’ has a personal vendetta against me but I’m not sure why? She is the slowest moving human being I’ve ever seen in my life and it seems like she absolutely hates her job. She always makes it seem like you’re inconveniencing her by eating at the restaurant. My orders are wrong 75% of the time, and I never send them back back because I’m not picky and I’d rather not have my food spat in… Today was by far to the worst experience I’ve had here. The waitress got my order completely wrong, when she refilled my drink she took my drink, poured it out, laughed then walked away.(This is all done behind my back and my friend was narrating what she is doing) then I continued to wait not saying anything and she brings the Coke back 5 minutes later and laughs after I said thank you. It was the single most unprofessional thing I’ve ever seen. When she went to refill my friends water she walked slowly over to a tv, watched it in front of us for a solid 5 minutes and then went and got his water and didn’t bring the lemon he asked for… Coming from two people that have worked as Server’s it’s embarrassing to watch such unprofessionalism on a consistent basis. I hate to poorly review a place but this has gone on long enough… The larger woman with the bangs is by far the worst waitress I’ve ever experienced in my life.

My boyfriend took me here on my Birthday and it was awful. The fajitas were supposed to be with no onions and they were loaded with onions, the vegetables were mushy and frozen bagged, not fresh. My boyfriend’s steak was dry. Service was terrible as well.

When it comes to that special class of Americanized Mexican food, this place has it down. And I promise, I’m not saying that in a sarcastic or snarky way – this is the kind of «Mexican» food I grew up on and I crave it! The restaurant itself is small, but the service was prompt. I got my food pretty quickly and was impressed overall, especially with the beef crunchy tacos which tasted fresh and flavorful. I really like that my enchilada was piping hot, gooey and melted. This place is farther away from my office than Los Reyes, but the food at El Ranchero is way WAY better. I’ll be back during lunch for sure.

First things first. The service here is excellent! This is my go-to spot before class when I’m craving(Americanized) Mexican food. True, the building inside and out doesn’t look like much, but this place does not disappoint. The chips and salsa are good(I would prefer a little more jalapeño and cilantro, but I know not everyone likes spicy salsa, so I really can’t complain). I haven’t tried everything on the menu, but the tacos al carbon are quite good, as are the burritos, tacos, rice, and enchiladas. I can’t attest to the margaritas, although it might help if I had one or two before going to class…

This is quickly becoming a regular Mexican spot for us. The quesadillas are incredibly filling, and their salsa is great.

If you’re looking for cheap, sit down Mexican this is the spot. Wednesday is discount margarita pitchers, so college kids are always there. I come here all the time, never disappointed. Get the grilled chicken nachos!

One of the best Mexican restaurants around. The food is outstanding. The service is great and the price is right! Margaritas are also superb! We drive nearly 40 miles to eat here and try to to stop by any time we are in the area.

Its quick and cheap. The food has been good on a consistent basis. Staff is friendly. They have quite a clientele from the locals in the area. They seem to know most them on a first name basis. I usually only have time for a combination off the menu. I scarf it down and then its out the door. I need to arrive there one day with enough time to tryout some of the menu items that other Unilocalers are bragging about. Ha! Yet another goal has been set for the new year. Y 20⁄100

Seems like I always get stuck in traffic when attempting to skirt through Atlanta, so I make it a point to kill time at one of the local Mexican restaurants. This most recent journey was beauteous serendipity because I discovered El Ranchero. A small, unassuming little place with plenty of shaded parking, El Ranchero has that slightly skeevy smell that I usually relate to folks who are too busy cooking great food to worry about changing the mop water. Yeah, I know that doesn’t make sense, but in the face of what I had for dinner, I’m totally willing to overlook a little sour smell and a few flies. I had the Carnitas Dinner($ 9.50) Chunks of fried pork topped with sautéed onions. Served with rice, beans, guacamole salad and three flour tortillas. The pork was so tender, juicy and flavorful that my eyes rolled back into my skull. Bravo! Best carnitas evah! Rice and beans were decent, guac salad fresh and appealing, margaritas were healthy pours, if you catch my drift, and service was attentive and very pleasant. But really, you had me at «carnita.» Om nom nommy.

Dive Mexican Restaurant that has a great lunch time buffet. We use to frequent this place all the time for lunch when I worked in the area. It has one of the best Mexican buffets that I’ve seen. And the best part is you can eat, have a soda, and leave for a tip for all under $ 10. I recommend this restaurant if you like Mexican food, but be warned you will have heartburn and a belly ache when you leave.

El Ranchero is a Mexican chain with about 10 locations spread out in different suburbs across metro Atlanta. I’ve been to this location on Cobb Parkway in Marietta due to its close proximity to where I work. It’s located right across from the AMF Marietta bowling lanes. The building, inside and out, is old and the tables and booths are small. The one thing El Ranchero has going for it are the prices. It’s just cheap Mexican food, plain and simple. I love trying out the different types of chips and salsa at various Mexican establishments and unfortunately, I found the chips and salsa here to be disappointing. The tortillas were thick, greasy, stuck together, and tasted stale and the salsa was runny. The lunch combinations(tacos, burritos, enchiladas, chile rellenos, rice and beans, etc.) are okay, but leave much to be desired. They serve their purpose, but are not very memorable. Servers are courteous and the food comes out fast. I don’t make too many comparisons to competing businesses in my reviews, but if I were to choose Mexican in Marietta, I would lean towards Los Bravos as it’s a bit nicer and the food tastes better.
