Expensive, stingy portions, but it does taste okay. $ 20 for 4 shrimp on some french fries with a cup of shrimp & grits. The grits were cheesy with a spicy oil and had a good flavor. It was a hunt for the small shrimp. The few chunks of andouille were a bit easier to find. The serving was the size of a coffee cup, and that’s the«large.» Since the 12oz. offering is weight rather than volume you’re not going to get something the size of a 12 oz. soda can. The density of grits reaches the weight in a much smaller size. The fried shrimp basket comes in the traditional palm-sized shallow box of cardstock. It had a modest serving of crinkle fries that were ALMOST crispy — with a little bit more effort they could have been good instead of limp with potato-y heaviness. Their seasoning was nice, however and it was a shame they missed their potential. The fries were topped with four butterflied shrimp, flattened out to the size of a 50-cent piece. These were crispy with an excellent breading. Smashing a shrimp flat to meet the«jumbo» claim is a cheap trick and this item is more of a snack than a meal and you’re $ 9 will get you more at a fast-food drive-thru. I guess their audience tends to be captive and they take advantage of that by overcharging and under-delivering.

Im gonna give this place 2.5 stars. Although I would have loved to give it a higher score, there were some issues that I struggled with about this truck. The couple we were with ordered a crab leg and rice dish and a fish«taco» — It looked like a burrito to me. I inquired on the taste and their reviews were decent. They ate it all, that’s all that mattered. We decided to try it. We discovered this place at the Shamrock Festival at the Masquerade Park. I don’t fancy fowl or swine so this place had exactly what I needed — seafood. I opted for the fish«taco» — more like a burrito, stuffed with grilled onions, tilapia and yellow rice. It was cold and old. I know what old caramelized onions look, taste and feel like. I was slightly pissed and also wondered how old that fish was. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and hoped that they prepared these tacos earlier and wrapped them in foil paper and the moisture from the hot taco created the soggy taste. I doubt it tho. Im glad I ordered a side of fries. Those were hot at least. My honey had a fried tilapia basket. The fish came out smoking hot. It was one piece for $ 7 but a big piece nonetheless. It was over-seasoned tho. My blood pressure went sky high! geez! The basket came with fries and a side of cole slaw. My honey requested extra fries instead of the cole slaw but the lady who took our order insisted that he tried it — «it’s really good and it’s homemade. not like the ones at other places». I told her that he doesnt eat cole slaw but that I would try it. I think she just didnt want to give him the extra fries. She should have cuz the cole slaw was aight. It came in one of those containers that you put sauce in. The cole slaw was dressed with the same season salt that everything else was seasoned with. Nothing special. A little shake here and there on everything that they serve I suppose. There was a gentleman whose number was called because his order was up. He forgot his bottle water. We all called out to him but the music was too loud. The cook from the back darted around the corner of the truck with the bottle in his hand to catch up with the dude… and so was his glove in his other hand. I PRAY that the changed his glove after returning to the kitchen. My order was already up so I was safe. ;-p Anyway, I came, I saw, I tried it. I’m good.
