Omg! For months I wanted to paint on a canvas in a class. Last week I was on vacation visiting my family so I decided to look on Groupon for a painting and wine class. I was so excited to fine Corkscrews and Canvas. My aunt, two cousins and I decided to go and we were treated really good. We were greeted as soon as we came in, it was an easy process to scan our Groupon off our phone. We all bought wine, they had many choices($ 5) a glass. Then we met Amy, our instructor and Sheri the owner. They were both really nice. Amy was very hands on and encouraging while painting out Flowers in A Jar. I absolutely loved my experience and when I come back to GA I will come back. Thanks Amy and Sheri for everything.

When looking for a place to hold my mom’s birthday party this year I remembered she loves to paint and doesn’t get to do it very often so this seemed the perfect idea. Unfortunately, I was never able to get them on the phone(always went to voicemail), but I reached out via email and spoke to the owner and she was very helpful and friendly. You must reserve a spot for yourself online and you have to give your credit card which isn’t charged unless you don’t show up. They allow you to bring in your own food, so I picked up a catering order from Zoe’s Kitchen and came early to set it all up. They have wine and beer for purchase and you cannot bring in your own — which was fine by me. They do allow you to purchase a whole bottle for a slight discount if you want. Originally we were going to have one of the owners as our instructor, but she was out sick so we had Kristen — who is hilarious and a great instructor. I was positive I was an awful painter but with her instruction, I actually painted something I can put up in my house and not be ashamed of! Since that birthday party, my mom has been back multiple times with her friends and I’ve been back twice so they definitely got a lot of new business out of us and they deserve it! They also have canvas sales every once in a while and sell artwork from the instructors for $ 10. Look out on Groupon as they occasionally have deals going on — 2 for 1.

Went here for a company outing and had a great time. The instructor was easy to work with and kept the class upbeat. Unfortunately, I tried to call several times for reservations for another class and their voicemail stays full. Apparently they don’t know how to clear it out. I don’t want to drive all the way from Cartersville just for them to turn me away.

I made reservations for my 13 year old daughter and I a week prior to the class. The day OF, I get an email and a phone call saying the rest of my class had canceled(all the other people who chose the same class as us had canceled) so they gave me the option to come in and join the other class(a different painting selection than what I had chose) or we could do the painting we originally chose and we could just do it on the sidelines, and come in early to get started ahead of the big class. Cool. We get there early(almost an hour before the other class starts. Long story short, we had to kind of wing it, after the first 2 steps. We weren’t shown how to do anything after the 2nd step(guess they thought the painting was easy enough – I’ve never painted so I needed more instruction.). In fact we were pretty much ignored when the other class started. The ladies were nice but very inattentive unless I spoke to them first or asked them questions. My issue is that I paid the same price everyone else did, that got the full attention of the instructor. Even when we left, nobody even acknowledged us. Very unimpressed. I’ll be going back(I have already purchased the groupon with my ladies group from church) so we’ll see if I feel different after that. But again, I feel like we were ignored and that is not what I paid for.

Went for a girls night and had a great time! There were 7 of us in the group and they had already set up a table reserved especially for us. They also had a table ready for any goodies we may have brought with us. Kristen was our instructor and she was so great! She was funny and broke it down in a way that made us able to have a final product that we could be proud of… despite our blatant artistic inexperience. I wish you could BYOB, but Marietta doesn’t allow. They do have lots of wine, beer, and other fun stuff to purchase if you so desire. They also have a great selection of paintings to choose from, so you can usually find one to suit all tastes. I highly recommend it!

It’s true; this is no longer an original concept. However, Corkscrews and Canvas is a bit cheaper than the competitors; $ 28 as opposed to $ 32 or $ 35. I planned a baby shower for my good friend a couple weeks ago. Sherri, the manager, was incredibly helpful through the whole process. I inquired about 2 months in advance and since they didn’t have the September schedule created yet, Sherri let me pick out what painting I wanted to do. I chose an image of a tree with birds and the saying«Bless our Nest.» What was so cool about it was that it incorporated scrapbook paper — something I haven’t seen the other places do, personally. There were about 7 of us, and right off the bat, knowing we didn’t want the Mommy-to-be to pay for herself they offered to split her cost between all of the rest of us. That couldn’t have been easier! Then they gave us the seats that were front and center, which was really nice. We were able to bring our own paper and some food as well(as most of these places allow). The only drawback of this location is you cannot BYOB because of Marietta laws. However, they do sell wine and beer right there, and C&C has another location in Canton that does allow it. We ended up taking our sweet time making our works of art, chatting, eating and opening presents. We ended up keeping the staff there almost an hour later after the actual class ended, but not once were we rushed or pushed along. Sherri and staff were super awesome, accomodating and kind. I’d recommend Corkscrews and Canvas to anyone! (Side note: Chicken and the Egg next door is a bonus! Haven’t been there yet, but totally making a day out of it next time!)
