Barker-Jackson at Sandy Plains

Great place and was a terrific experience. Got the shave and a haircut with the $ 3 Unilocal coupon, No waiting on a Sunday and quite happy with the experience. Usually go to the Canton location, was surprised as they started opening on Sunday. The usual Canton location has a 90 min wait on a Sunday. Owner needs to get a better sign and place it by the road telling people they are there, especially at night and on Sunday’s — would stop most males from the desperation after work or on Sunday’s for the horrible $ 35 mall haircut.

How does one follow-​up a review about a bad haircut? With a review about the place that fixed it. That’s how I do it, anyway (see my reviews of Great Clips:

My first visit to Barker Jackson was on a whim after leaving school. I attend Chattahoochee Technical College down the street and I desperately needed a trim. I saw a sign that said «Barber Shop» and decided to stop in. The lady that cut my hair was nice and the price was reasonable. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have given them another thought except I found myself in the same situation again last week.
I walked in and immediately noticed their renovation. New counters, floors, and televisions. The last that did my hair last time was busy and I was immediately assisted by another female barber. I wanted another really close trim and I was in and out in under 40 minutes. Oh, and it was only $ 16!

Straight razor neck shave and a hot towel to finish the quality haircut make this place where I like to go.

After living in Canton for quite some time, then moving to Woodstock, I was having trouble finding a good barber — and found myself driving a long way back up to Canton to Barker-Jackson’s location there.
I’m not sure what type of Supercuts and Great Clips that David has found, but these are not the same. You won’t find straight razor shaves at either of those places.
In short, if you can recognize quality groomers and their craftsmanship, then I would recommend either of the Barker-​Jackson locations. Unfortunately, I had to knock off a star due to this location’s appearance. I can understand that it’s new and they have to remodel, but they should have done so before opening to the public. They are giving the wrong impression (to those unfamiliar with their work) with such a terrible look and feel to the place.
I’ve been going to B-J’s barber shop now (including the Canton location) for years. So happy that there’s a second location (and it’s close to where I live) now.
