Local to me(I am all of 5 minutes down the road) this is a good solid experience. Food is done well, staff is friendly and m granddaughter really likes it here. I don’t want to mislead and say this is the best around, but in East Cobb County it is pretty good.

I’ve never really had bad teppanyaki so unless there is something out of the ordinary just about any Japanese steak house should have good reviews. Food here was good only complaint was that there was only 2 sauces. Early bird specials are a good deal.

The waitress in the sushi bar(she has been there for years) was rude, rushed us, was unattentive and did nothing for the atmosphere of a special birthday dinner. Not my choice for a $ 60 dinner out. ***Leave Asahi for the high school crowd.***

Food is really good. service however, not so much. Whoever the main woman is that works at the sushi bar can be quiet rude. I’ve sat down several times(when it wasn’t even busy) & she doesn’t even greet me. She just slams water down in front of me & rudely hands me a menu. She doesn’t check on me periodically for refills either. I can tell she has her«favorites» as far as customers go. I really like the food, but I will not be returning any longer. Her disrespectful attitude turned me off too many times. I will take my money elsewhere.

Great experience. The chef was engaging and entertaining. The teppan(Filet /w fried rice) was perfectly cooked to taste. Sushi was fresh(California roll & Dynamite roll). Bring your appetite for this place!

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this experience. I called ahead to see if reservations were needed for hibachi at 5:30 with this size group and was told they would take our name, but no problem walking in at that time. We were seated, drink order taken immediately, ordered within minutes, and soup was out in 3, followed by salad as we were finishing. The nigiri arrived between the two and was above average and about average price(this isn’t a discount sushi place, but the cost was comparable to other establishments). Our chef was GREAT! of the 5 kids at the table(two in their teens who would frown on me calling them such), 3 had an absolute blast while the older girls tried to keep the smiles off their faces. «Japanese Basketball», consisting of the chef tossing fried eggs into their mouths off the spatula, is not quite likely my daughter’s favorite sport. He even joked with the ones pretending not to have fun, but truly played it up with the younger 3. Food was hot, tasty, and omg plentiful — took home 4 to go boxes and am pretty sure 3 of us have dinner for tomorrow. Cool notes — 1) go early and order before 6pm and adult hibachi is $ 5 per plate(cheaper than kids meals even), 2) for those of us who need it, they have gluten-free soy sauce and actually understand the deal and call easily share what is and what is not gluten free. We don’t do hibachi often as it is a treat for the kids, but next time we do, I know where I am going… Loved it!

Waaaaay overpriced. I paid $ 30(including tip) for steak fried rice — and we weren’t even doing the hibachi experience! If we hadn’t already been seated, I would have run away right after seeing the prices on the menu. You can get streak fried rice that is just as good(if not better) at any other Asian restaurant. Take your money and go somewhere else!

OK… we have been sampling hibachi all around the east Cobb area and this is hands down the best. This is our go-to from now on. Great food, great show and very clean.

Sushi was decent– definitely edible but not anything off the charts. Service was ok, I didn’t really understand what they were saying but they were happy to keep refilling our jumbo soda/waters.

We live close to Asahi and have eaten there numerous times. Each time I swear I won’t be back because of the service. Sure enough I decided to give it another try and was disappointed again. We ate on the ‘sushi’ side and there were three of us. Our meals were all separated by at least 10 minutes. So we all ate ‘alone’. The server was in such a rush that she literally three our napkins and plates down and they toppled all over the table. The whole meal was like that. They need to add a few more servers and from the look of things, more cooks. Very poor service. The woman who seated us acted like we were from Mars and was one of the least hospitable people I have ever seen in a restaurant.

The best Sushi in East Cobb. Well worth the drive. Nothing compares. Very skillful chefs and the sushi creations are always tasty. It’s Iron Chef experience every visit.

It has been our annual tradition to come here for Christmas Eve. Sad to say we will never return again. We are asked to leave our table every single year after spending well over one hundred dollars on an average hibachi restaurant food. They overbook every year and don’t appreciate their frequent customers. We will not be returning. What a shame!

This used to be our absolute favorite spot for Hibachi. Every birthday in the family, this is where we would go. For nearly 10 years, we’ve loved this place. Over the past year or so, we’ve noticed a decline in the quality of service. Last time we were there, I looked up and there was a very thick layer of dust caked on the hood above the hibachi surface. It was disgusting! Grimy and just pure nastiness! It was also all over the pictures hanging on the wall. We’ve tried out 3 other places since then and I did not see the same dust and grime as we did at Asahi. Not going back!!!

I love the sushi here!!! Oh so good! I cannot eat a shrimp tempura roll anywhere else! I never have to wait go straight to the sushi bar! Love the hand roll of spicy tuna and their salmon skin roll! Dragon roll out of this world and if you want to get CRAZY do the volcano roll! Comes out pipping hot with this orange sauce(which probably has 3,000 calories) and fried tempura batter. My husband loves their hibachi grill as well! Great place in Marietta, GA! Much better than Mt. Fuji.

We used to like this place despite poor service. Last meal there I noticed gulf salmon on their menu. There is no such fish but she assured me it meant Scottish salmon. Not sure what kind of dry, soapy fish I actually took one bite if, but it was not salmon. Rice tasted soapy, too. Never again.

The food was fine, the atmosphere was nice, however the entertainment was very poor. I go to hibachi restaurants first and foremost for the entertainment factor. My wife and 2 year old dined here last night with me, and we were hoping for a nice show from the chef. However, the only«entertainment» he provided was the typical boring fire in the beginning, and the smoking train with the onions. I literally forgot he was there for our entertainment for the rest of the night. He went about his business, did not engage or interact with the diners, and swiftly left upon finishing cooking our food. No fun at all. My child preferred to watch Thomas the Train on my iPhone for lack of excitement. Next time, rather than sharing a table at dinner with 5 other strangers, we’ll just grab a quiet table to the side. One other note to mention. My wife and I both commented at the end of the meal that while the food was on par with other hibachi restaurants, the portions were much much smaller. We usually are unable to finish our meals. But on this occasion, we both had perfectly clean plates and wanting more at the end. Even with the small scoop of sherbet at the end, it was not enough. And I had to snack on some food when I returned home. Also, we both ordered white rice, but it did not come until we were nearly through with our meal, and that’s after we had to ask the waitress for it. Overall a little disappointed in the experience.

Really great sushi! My husband and I went there on Valentine’s Day(it was packed), and were very pleasantly surprised that we stumbled into this place. The waitress was a little slow in the sushi area, but I’m almost certain she was the only one working that night, so I have sympathy on that. She did, however, deliver our edamame to the wrong person at the sushi bar, and left it on our check for us to pay(when we never got a replacement). Sushi was wonderful, and a little on the pricey side. All in all, a good experience.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve never written a Unilocal review, but Asahi really deserves it. The hibachi is top notch, and the sushi is even better. I saw Alton Brown from Food Network there once, and I am told that he often goes there. If its good enough for him, then it’s certainly worth a try! Go ahead and try the place out for dinner once. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

This is by far the best Japanese hibachi restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. Another plus is that it’s not a chain restaurant, this is a family owned establishment. I was on break from school in California and went back home to visit family when my family took me to Asahi. They’ve been here a few times and always have had great food, good show and delicious sushi. The service staff is also very attentive, nice and very accommodating to any request that my family or I have. We sat at the hibachi table, i ordered steak and shrimp, my brother ordered steak and shrimp with a side of scallops. mom and dad each ordered sushi and sashimi from the sushi bar. The chef was very entertaining, playful and funny, he did all the tricks that you would expect from a hibachi restaurant. Everything was delicious, my steak was perfectly medium rare, which the chef did ask in the beginning of the mean. You can even specify how well done you want your scallops, like my brother did with his side order of scallops. I couldn’t be happier with everything. I highly recommend this place for a great dinner and gathering with family and friends. we sat around chatting for a couple hours after the hibachi chef ended his cooking. it was a very enjoyable night with my family made better by the delicious food and drinks at Asahi.
