Dive bar in the middle of the smallest town. We rode our motorcycle out here with a friend. Came in for a drink and ended up staying for lunch. Everything was really good and had flavor, wasn’t expecting that from a dive bar. Then again it was a family owned place, and these little hole in the walls always have good food. Great place for a bite to eat. Alcohol isn’t on tap though, everything is in a bottle. Unless you order a mixed drink or a shot. Be ready to eat if you’re hungry, you get plenty of food for the price. There is also outdoor sitting, if you don’t want the smell of smoke when you plan on eating.

My husband and I drove up from Camarillo for the day on a Saturday and we absolutely loved the atmosphere. For a moment it was if we were back in time. The food is amazing! Best burgers ever. Do yourself a favor and go.

This place is soooo cool. If you like out-of-the-way places that offer fantastic natural surroundings and tons of fascinating history, this is the place for you. Oh yeah, the food is REALLY good too! My friends and I stopped here while doing our favorite motorcycle ride and were welcomed by really nice people(customers and employees). The guy running the bar(Tony?) was very welcoming and interesting to talk to. Now the food… I had the best(not kidding) turkey melt sandwich ever. This thing had to have a half pound of the juiciest thick sliced turkey on fresh bread with melty, cheesy, deliciousness that I have yet to find anywhere else. The burgers that my friends ordered looked just as delicious! This is now going to be a regular destination for me and my friends/family.

Prepare for an adventure!!! I rode with some buddies on a Sunday and what a ride it was. Exceptional getting there to the bar and grill. The place is unique to say the least, you feel transformed in time when you look around at the rustic interior. I loved the food and the friendly service, and frankly can’t wait to get back. It is not the ritz Carleton!!! Who cares :)

Reyes creek is a truly extraordinary atmosphere. Owners are welcoming and accepting, it feels like an oasis in the middle of nowhere! The food, mmmmm, the food is delicious. Sure the wait time is a little tedious but the food is absolutely extraordinary. Eating feels so natural with its«saloon» feel(minus the aggressiveness). Funnily enough there are dollar bills stapled ALLOVERTHEPLACE! While your waiting you should keep yourself entertained and decorate your own bill(ask for stapler).

Definitely off the beaten path but the ride there and the good food will keep us coming back. Make sure you have a full tank of gas and an empty stomach before you head out. My husband had a huge swiss, mushroom, bacon burger with onion rings. It’s enough for two. I had the garden burger with onion rings and both were delcious. Portions are large. Everything fresh and made to order. Great menu. Friendly service and patrons.

A friend of mine who is a regular at the Reyes Creek Bar and Grill took me there last weekend for lunch. This place is in the middle of nowhere, but obviously has quite a following. It was mid day on a Sunday and there were some regulars, locals and some bikers. It’s one of those friendly places where they all know each other and just a comfortable place to stop and have lunch and a beer. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious! All in all a great time and I would love to go again some time.

SO A GROUPOFHIKERSWALKINTO A BIKERBAR… BACKGROUND: Nestled under some shades trees along a flowing creek, way out in the middle of nowhere, this family owned and operated establishment, according to some, is «Home of the best go*shda*rn burger you ever had». From the owner, posted on Unilocal: We specialize in homestyle cooking no microwave or heat lamps here everything cooked to order friendly staff and environment we are not fast food we are good food. We pride ourselves in service and hospitality. STATS: Monday — Thursday: 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday: 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 a.m. Sat: 8:00 a.m. -.2:00 a.m. Sun: 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Parking is a dirt lot Pool table Indoor/Outdoor seating Flat screen TVs Jukebox Canines welcomed and allowed inside OUREXPERIENCE: After a long challenging day on trail, me and The Crew, limped, gimped, hobbled, and shuffled, covered from head to toe in dirt, trail dust, branches, twigs and leafs, into this fine dining establishment. The wooden interior is, well, pretty much decorated by patrons. Needless to say, it’s covered in a hodge podge of stuff. From dollar bills signed and stapled to the ceiling, to oversized t-shirts, men’s «lingerie», bandanas, sports caps, and hats, to posters and signs. With booths on one side and picnic tables in the center, even with thirty-ish of us, there was still plenty of room for all dem bikers, residents of the area, and people who were just plain lost. The line to order food was quite long, which is expected where there are 30ish peeps in your party. Thankfully we timed it just right, there were only a few locals sittin outside smokin’ their cancer sticks and swiggin’ their beer. Oh, and we called several weeks ahead of time to coordinate our visit. Once orders were placed, with the owner, one-by-one we limped, gimped, hobbled, and shuffled, to the double stacked picnic table or booths and sat till our order was served to us by the daughters of the owner. There was so much food, I can’t even remember what everyone had. But here is a short list: Builda Burger– this is Reyes cheeseburger on steroids plus three items you choose from a list of 18 items on the menu. Chili Size burger-pattie smothered in homemade chili w/cheese, and onions. comes with choice of french fries, onion rings, or dinner salad Philly cheese steak– smothered in real swiss grilled onions and bell peppers on a french roll Nacho Supreme-served with ground beef lettuce tomato onions jalapenos sour cream fresh chips, which are made to order. Tri Tip Sandwich-served on a french roll with choice of french fries onion rings, or dinner salad BLT-Served on white, wheat, or sourdough with choice of a side Chicken Strips-choice of french fries onions rings or dinner salad. Bacon Cheeseburger– Lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, choice of cheddar, swiss, or pepper jack, and choice of side. And so on and so and so on. So, what happens when hikers limp, gimp, hobble, and shuffle, covered from head to toe in dirt, trail dust, branches, twigs and leafs, into a biker bar? They stand in line to order food from the owner, sit and wait for their food to be delivered to them, then indulge in «…the best go*shda*rn burger you ever had», or so they say. Me? I had the BLT on sourdough with onion rings and enjoyed it immensely. As for the rest of the crew, well, let’s just say, for the first four or five bites, the room was just about as quite as a library, after closing, with the exception of AC/DC’s «Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap» played on the juke. bottom line is, Hey! It’s a biker bar, we fit right in. Btw, if you are allergic to canines, or find it despicable to have them in the same room as you while you eat, don’t bother coming here, or take your food to the outside patio. keep in mind, these are free range canines. If you’re looking to eat with rap or hip hop music playin in the background, ain’t gonna find it here. Rock, Classic Rock, maybe a little bit country, but none of that boom boom stuff, so keep yer money in yer pocket, or make another choice.

What a find! We took 33 out of Ventura on way to Frazer Park. This is on a side road way back in a beautiful little campground. Owner Ali & her daughter very nice. Food was delicious — a huge cheeseburger & fresh greens salad. A wide selection of craft beers. Other patrons friendly. We could have spent a couple hours here. Definitely rustic so don’t expect anything fancy.

My fiancée and I stopped here after a long hike hoping to get some good food and service. First thing you should know is that if you’re not riding a motorcycle in there then they don’t care about you. Didn’t get acknowledged when we walked through the door. So we just sat down at an empty table of which there were many. The place wasn’t full so that excuse doesn’t work. There was in fact only one other table there of about 7 people. Who all rode their Ferraris in. By the way, the staff wouldn’t let us park in their small parking lot because we were ruining everyone’s photo op of the cars. Great service! We sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. We watched as 3 separate servers waited hand and foot on this table and just looked at us like idiots when they walked past us like they’ve never seen a hungry customer before. After about 20 minutes of completely being ignored by the staff I walked up to the bar as the bartender ignored me again for another 3 or 4 minutes as she shot the shit with a couple bikers at the bar. After finally getting my menus(where half the entrées are misspelled) and being offered no apologies for being made to wait and ignored I went back to my seat, already livid. And waited another ten minutes for the most unskilled wait staff I’ve seen to finally come to my table and take our order. Food took a normal amount of time to arrive and was very tasty. It looks like the only capable person in the whole joint was the chef. I really wanted to walk to the back and give the cook a tip. Cause the horrible staff didn’t deserve or get one. Even after I ate I had to flag someone down at the bar so I can pay them. I should’ve just walked out without paying. Also, they don’t take cards so they use the opportunity to gouge you for a whopping 5 dollar atm fee. I made sure to give exact change and I’ll never go back. I returned to reyes Creek with a group of people a couple weeks after and was able to talk them out of giving then their business. I felt strongly enough about the despicable service to start a Unilocal account and say something in the hopes that I can get someone else to avoid going there. So, unless you’re riding a motorcycle don’t bother going cause they won’t bother to serve you.

My retired friends and I take a weekly motorcycle trip somewhere every Thursday. The trip is generally out three hours or so, and back another three hours. We heard that there was good place for a meal somewhere off Lockwood Valley Road near Lake of the Woods, so we went searching. If you are not traveling too fast, you see the sign for this place and the campgrounds, about 25 miles from Lake of the Woods. You take this narrow winding road for a short while and then, you step back in time. The Reyes Creek Bar and Grill structure, village, and associated campgrounds, have obviously been there for decades. The menu is an absolute bargain for the excellent food served. I looked over the menu and spotted Tony’s Toaster, a creation by Tony, the owner. I have never had a meal like this one where you bite into it and all of a sudden your taste buds awaken to a melody of flavors. It was excellent. The portion was so large, I skipped dinner that evening when I got home. I couldn’t finish the fries which were equally good. This was one of our better motorcycle journeys, and not the last for this destination.

If you live in a city like me, you may never had an experience like this one! I think our friendly Bartender, was named Tony! He was so funny, and very accommodating. He and his Wife I believe, run the entire restaurant with their family. They even have their son helping out, he can’t be more than 12 years old. That’s awesome. They even customize their menu items. My friends Amanda and Justin got Cheese Garlic Fries, and I got Onion Rings. My other friend Nick got a giant, amazing burger with 3 different types of meat. They have a nice selection of beer too. Their prices are very decent, I only paid around $ 10, and my friend’s burger was about $ 13. The inside is a trip too, from posters about Midget Wrestling, to taxidermy coyotes with cowboy hats. The ceiling had $ 1 bills everywhere, written on by customers. There were also Swastikas, and WP in a lot of places, but everyone seemed very nice so I’m not judging what this meant. The place has been around since around the late 1800’s. A lot of campers, and bikers show up here, so it’s a very out-of-California feel. This is the only place with running water in their bathrooms, but it’s patrons only. Just go buy a snack, or drink! I’m so happy they had these, I could not deal with the terrible bathrooms on the campsite.

I ran into this place in the middle of the travel mess(ran out of gas, exhausted, lost, chased by the angry dogs), and oh boy, was the place to cool me down and bring me back to my comfort zone. There is something about people who work/come there, nature, campers, I don’t know, but makes you want to come back. And funny thing is that you will! PS Didn’t like the swastikas on the counter though.

Great, super friendly service, great menu, good selection of beers. But this… this is probably what you want to know — the burgers freakin’ *rule*. I ordered a Tony’s Toaster, which is this enormous handmade burger dripping with tasty BBQ sauce, really great tasting bacon, cheddar, and onion rings with Texas-toasted slices of French bread barely holding the thing together. Jeeeez, this was GOOD. If I’ve ever had a better burger in a restaurant, I can’t remember when. My girlfriend had a patty melt which she also said was amazing. Friendly locals, friendly visitors, friendly service. Tony and his wife Ali(Ollie) treat you like you stopped in to their house and tell stories, and are so welcoming. The vibe is a very down home extremely casual bar completely made of wood, with caps and dollar bills with messages tacked to the ceiling. There are a couple of patios if you want to sit outside. Bands play every Saturday night between Memorial Day and Labor Day or thereabouts. Oh, and did I mention that the burgers freakin’ rule?

Combine a road trip on Hwy 33 with a trout laden creek, outdoor tables, a dozen different types of bottled beers, strong mixed drinks, the best onion rings and hand cut french fries in Ventura County, and you have Reyes Creek bar and grill. We’ve stopped in a couple of times and found good burgers, friendly locals and great servers. It’s a fun out of the way spot in a lovely valley.

Usually, I wouldn’t give five stars to any place that has a bunch of swastikas branded into the bar counter, but hear me out… This place is in a very tiny town. You could almost call it a village. The thing is: There’s a campground not 300 meters from their front door. So, regulars intermingle with campers, and sometimes it gets crazy. It wasn’t until my fifth trip to Reyes Creek that I decided to violate the Ranger’s advice to «[not] go over there and sort with the locals.» She seemed pretty adamant about it; apparently, the locals don’t like the campers coming in, getting shit-faced, and acting stupid. I totally understood, and continue to understand what she meant. But, I digress… When I walked in the doors, there were two fellas sitting at the counter, and one girl behind the bar. The floor(which I imagined would have tables) was empty, like a dance floor. Chairs were on top of booths, indicating they had just cleaned the floors that day. I mozied(something I rarely get to do) up to the bar and took a seat. KITSCHCENTRAL. I love a kitschy dive. Minus the unexplained and aforementioned swastikas branded into the counter, this place just feels right. People personalize $ 1 bills with drawings and notes and adhere them to the walls and ceiling. It would take you the better part of a day to read them all. Great signs and stickers can keep you entertained for hours. The girl, Ali(perhaps misspelled, but certainly pronounced, «Ollie») asked what we’d like. I ordered a Sierra Nevada and my gf got a Blue Moon. I was hoping they served food, but saw no menus. That was when Ali asked if I’d like anything to eat, or if I’d like to see a menu. ***GAME-CHANGER*** When you’re camping, food tastes better. It’s something you truly have to experience to understand. It’s like seeing for the first time after years of blindness. It’s truly inexplicable. So, I was super stoked when I realized not only do I have a full bar with a decent beer selection(albeit no taps, just bottles-n-cans), but I also have a place I can score breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!! And it’s just a short walk from my tent. HELLYEAH! We shared a Tony’s Toaster. A monster sandwich made with Texas-toasted slices of French bread, a hamburger patty, bacon, cheddar, onion rings, and barbecue sauce. Oralgasmic. A tummy revelation. I busted a hardcore gut-nut. This sandwich is the embodiment of everything you wish you had when you’re camping… And now, I can have it all!!! Nature, peace & quiet, and a free-flowing booze supply without having to drive ANYWHERE! ***The Topper: The prices for food are on the high side(our sandwich was about $ 10), but they aren’t shy with their portions. The fries are homemade(a bit greasy, but that’s sometimes exactly what you need) and the alcohol is reasonably priced!!! I think our beers were like $ 4. Well cocktails are $ 6. Shots are $ 4 or $ 5 for most booze(including Kettle One, when Ali’s pouring); $ 6 for ultra-high end. With a captured client-pool as they have, they could GOUGE campers, but they don’t. And for that, I salute them. I finished up lunch with a Stone IPA, and returned a couple hours later for a vodka tonic. We chatted with some locals, including a very nice fella named Carl, who gave me some maps with great places to visit. He, like me, was enjoying some libations and really made me feel welcomed(as did Ali and her man, Tony — the owner and man behind our legendary sandwich). I can’t wait to go back. T & A, as Tony referred to himself and his wife, are on my loyalty list. I look forward to returning to give them more money and tips in exchange for ultra-tasty bar food and affordable booze. This will be my go-to spot, when I’m in Reyes Creek. If you haven’t been camping at Reyes Creek, it’s a great place for newbies, especially now that I know there is a freakin’ kick-ass little dive just a short walk from the campsite. Fantastic. I’m just mind-blown. Every campsite should have a place like Reyes Creek Bar & Grill next door. Best… camping dive… ever. ((Didn’t bring a camera. Had I known there were no photos, I would have taken some. Worry not — I’ll get ‘em in a few weeks, upon my return.))
