Stopped by Saturday afternoon to see if Marc still had the best ribs on the beach… ANDHEDOES!!! Marc took me on a brief tour of the kitchen and it was cleaner than a hotel kitchen! No wonder the food was off the hook! Ribs… best in town, maybe the best in Jersey! Chicken… finger lickin’ masterpiece! Mac and Cheese… I want more! Pulled Pork… Don’t need a fork! Brisket… Don’t tell my wife that his brisket is better than hers! Not only is this a can’t miss, you miss Riss’s and you missed out! Note: Get here EARLY to beat the crowds, and this year the place WILLBEPACKED!

Ok when we went last summer we obviously really liked the food and the owner Mark. He was very conscientious and knowledgeable about food allergies. Well we did take out tonight, and I must say not only did the owner take the time to talk to me, but the food was AMAZING. The ribs(a full rack is HUGE) were SOoo meaty and sauced perfectly. The ribs were also fall off the bone, tender, juicy, and full of BBQ sauce and flavor! Bring some wet ones! Anyhow, I highly recommend this Margate gem, so go check it out! By the way, my wife loved her BBQ half chicken as well! The seating is outdoors and it’s perfectly shady and cool with a beautiful shore breeze. The waitresses were very polite as well.

The ribs were melt in your mouth. The owner makes sure you have an enjoyable experience. I didn’t care for the brisket mac and cheese. However, I heard their brisket is suppose to be out of this world. Def a stop by if your on the island

Amazing ribs! My husband is picky with his ribs and he was very happy with Riss’ Ribs. It was my daughters birthday and she wanted ribs and we stumbled upon Riss’ and couldn’t have been happier. Highly recommended

We ordered take out ribs and brisket. And asked for cornbread which they said came with our orders along with cole slaw. The ribs were mediocre. They were not very tender and did not fall off the bone. The brisket however was terrible. It was mushy and had the consistency of corned beef hash. It had no flavor and was watery for a lack of a better term. They also forgot to include our cornbread and the cole slaw had big chunks of cabbage in very watery mayo.

Another delicious meal tonight. The family enjoyed the creamed spinach, Mac n cheese, and pulled pork sandwich. We are already looking forward to our next jersey shore trip so we can dine here again.

First in line on opening night for take out. We had a full rack of baby ribs buffalo wings, fries, baked beans, creamed spinach, and corn bread. It was a finger feast for four hungry people. We will return.

Tonight was my 2nd night at Riss’s Racks this summer and both times the food was absolutely exceptional. A group of us split an order of ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. The ribs are INCREDIBLE — by far the best ribs I’ve had in the area. Also the chicken and pulled pork are terrific, def a great spot if you are craving BBQ.

Return trip last night because the weather was just too perfect to dine indoors. Had the chicken again and loved it. Only mistake… I wore white. They added corn on the cob. Yum.

Dreadful. Someone here said it wasn’t barbq. They were so right. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket sandwich. They tasted like boiled meat with a little sauce on top. Even the bread was of poor quality. Tasted like a dinner roll. Too much wrong to even talk about the service. Not even worth a. 2nd try

We ordered take out. They said 6:45 and it wasn’t ready until 7. They weren’t busy. The ribs were fatty, yet dry.(You would think all that fat would add moisture.). Not top quality. Cole slaw was Not homemade. The cinnamon butter was loaded with granulated sugar– gross. They shorted us the cornbread. We were curious. Now we are not. Sorry to be so negative but it was a thoroughly bad dinner.

It must be pointed out that this is not BBQ. BBQ implies that the food is cooked with an open flame, wood, or smoke. Unfortunately, here the food is roasted in an oven. There is no hint of smoke or even a taste of a grill. It is baked in an oven. They do put BBQ sauce on their meat, but that does not necessarily make something BBQ. So calling this BBQ is very misleading. Now as far as the meat and flavor are concerned. The portions were generous, I will give them that. Unfortunately, the meat had little to no flavor. There was no rub or seasoning prior to or after cooking as far as I could tell. The pulled pork sandwich was served on a large French roll, but was just a pile of flavorless meat served on a grocery store quality bread with some BBQ sauce. The meat without sauce was flavorless which means very little prep was done prior to cooking. The ribs were very meaty and thick, but again flavorless. They were drowned in sauce and over cooked. Unfortunately people think«fall off the bone» is a good thing, but that really means that the ribs are overcooked. A properly cooked rib should be able to be picked up with the meat intact, bite into with a gentle tug off the bone. When I open the box, several ribs had already separated from the bone so there was just bare bones lying at the bottom. The cole slaw was good, cold and crisp. Nothing special, but good. The cornbread was okay, a sizable piece was given with each dish. Unfortunately, this place is billed as BBQ which it is not.

Definitely the best BBQ in Margate! Went there with a friend and we got a little bit of everything. Couldnt figure out what my favorite dish was but the brisket sandwich might have been the best i’ve ever had. Their bbq sauce is fantastic. Would also recommend the honey chipotle glaze on the chicken. Really gives it a nice sweet flavor that goes great together. The service was also great and very friendly. If you’re unsure what you might like they do a great job helping you out. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

They advertise the best ribs in Margate. If they are, I pity Margate. I have never tasted such terrible food. The kids would not even eat the Mac and cheese.

Fabulous addition to margate. Loved the ribs, falling off the bone and slaw and cornbread were spot on!

Stopped today for the first time always excited to try a new BBQ joint. Today I had 12BBQ chicken wings, Mac and Cheese and Cornbread. The wings were undercooked with very little sauce and really nothing better than I could of had out of the frozen food section of supermarket. The Mac and cheese was bland cheesy yes but basically flavorless. How could corn bread be made bad? It was moist but that’s were it ends how about a little vanilla and whole kernel corn to bring to the party. Twenty eight bucks for all this was just outrageous. I’ll spend my money in Pleasentville and have authentic BBQ with all the right fixens. Where’s are the greens and beans for Pete’s sake. I would like to give it another chance but with the prices will have to come down .We are in Margate so we can charge a lot attitude has to go.

We went into this with mid-level hopes and were disappointed. The ribs were grainy and had an off flavor. The Mac and cheese was clumpy and grainy. The«brown sugar butter» was 90% brown sugar and the rest was butter. The corn bread was mediocre at best. Everything was cold and WAY over priced. Definitely do not recommend this place.
