I have been a member of this library for 3 years, and have never had any problems with anyone here. It is a free standing library, but the people here are very helpful and courteous. Never once has anyone given me any issues. The library now has a new director, and she is making incredible changes! There are five BRANDNEW public computers that are free for members to use, they offer Black & White copies, faxing & scan-2-email at reasonable pricing, And also offer a variety of educational classes at little to no cost. It is a small library that is continuing to grow and I am proud to be a member here!

As an avid reader and user of the Delaware County Library System, it pains me to give any library 1 star. So I will explain my reasoning. I usually check books out from Aston or Rachel Kohl(Garnet Valley) libraries that have been borrowed from other libraries that are members of the Delaware County Library System. You have the ability to drop of books at any member library, not just the one you picked up from. What I didn’t know is that Upper Chichester Library is not a member. I received a call from the Ridley Township Library explaining that I had dropped off one of their books at the U.C.L and because they aren’t a member, I was responsible for getting the books. I completely understand that and said I would be happy to do that. So I called the U.C.L. to just check that my books would be available. The man who picked up the phone was rude, condescending, and very short with me. While I was on the phone I was also looking at their website and wanted to confirm their hours for Wednesday 4÷4÷12 and tried to ask the man that but he started yelling at me «Today’s(Tuesday 4÷3÷2012) hours are 10 –4! 10 – 4! So because I couldn’t get to the library during their hours to get my books, I asked if my dad would just drop by and get them. When I called to ask how it went, he told me how the man, who I assume is one and the same who I spoke to) was a jerk and told him in a rude tone how«she(I) should have known better». He apparently said some other things and my dad told him its their fault for not having a sign on the window saying that they aren’t a member library and it was an honest mistake. And if someone from the library ever reads this and wishes to contact me, I would be happy to talk about it.
