We only went once after paying for a membership. Five people, myself, my husband, two children and my mother. Clearly they aren’t a fan of children as the hostess immediately frowned upon seeing them. She also took the time it took to seat us to lecture me about the children wearing flip flops and they really weren’t allowed. The next party of six that walked in all had flip flops on but were spared the lecture, apparently because there were no children with them. We went for brunch, we asked if the chef could make an egg sandwich for one of my kids. You would think we were asking for the world. The server was extremely annoyed. The chef did it but by that point we clearly didn’t feel welcome. We never returned, unfortunately since we entertain a lot and it would have been nice but I refused to give them another cent. Also as a member you would think that we would have received emails, flyers or something to let us know of what’s going on. We had zero communication from them.

I joined this establishment in 2014. We are new residences to the Island and so far our best meals and service have been at this club. Clean and an atmosphere that can only be found here. If you need a place with consistancy and fulfilling service on the Island… consider becoming a member. Our family enjoys this experience every week.

I have good memories of the yacht club so I was excited to come back recently for dinner with the parents. The place hasn’t changed much. The interior is very nice without feeling too stuffy. We sat on the back patio which looks like the grotto to a multimillion dollar mansion! Very swanky. Additionally our server could not have been nicer or done a better job. That was the good stuff… Now for the meal. R u kidding me was my recurring thought after dinner. I tried to look at the menu online prior to dining only to find a note that says something about a changing seasonal menu. I’m pretty sure chicken, steaks and salmon are not«seasonal». I’ll just give you the bullet points. Mushroom tart app: my miniature tart tasted like it was just purchased from the cooler at 7 – 11, warmed in a microwave and placed on my place with tweezers. Dinner rolls: pillsbury rolls baked a week ago, then served cold with frozen butter. Like spreading cream cheese over sand. Black bean soup: clearly from a can, lacking any seasoning or flavor Chicken: tasted like… Chicken! I can do that. $ 19 gone! Short ribs: overcooked/over salted Dessert: I was going to the grocery store later so I just cut out the middle man. I thought a lot during our meal how nice an area it would be for a wedding. I’m hopeful they succeed in this arena. As for dinner, not even in the same stratosphere for a very expensive dinner.

My wife and I got married at the Marco Island Yacht club in 2004 and it hasn’t changed much since then. They still have a staff that is dead-on with providing great service. We stopped by for an afternoon drink the other day and enjoyed our time sitting at the burgee bar. We were able to walk around the grounds to re-visit and show our boys exactly where we said our vows, had cocktail hour(with waiters serving drinks and hors d’oeuvres on trays) and our reception. The wedding we had at this location was the best one I’ve ever been to, and I’m not just saying it because it was my own! We still have people telling us they wish they could attend our wedding all over again. The Marco Island Yacht Club was a huge reason for this. The atmosphere was elegant, the food was fantastic and the staff waited on people like they were celebrities. I would highly recommend this club to anyone planning an event, wedding, party, etc. Keep in mind that this is a private club and you should either be a paid member or a member at another club with reciprocating rights before trying to enter!
