pros: — great price — comfortable — quiet — DVD player — large mini fridge — great light cancelling curtains — large parking lot — safe — clean cons: — shared jack & jill bathroom(although we didn’t have neighbors so we didn’t have to share with anyone) — small shower/no bathtub — ice machine was broken — only one washing machine was working — you have to go off base to get to the commissary — difficult to find the front office at night time — a little bit of channels

Checked in for a week due to training on base. Suite was roomy and clean enough but the temperature inside was warm and stuffy. I turned the overhead fan on and it barely helped. No windows to open so I turned the AC on. What the Front Desk doesn’t tell you is that the AC has been turned off for the year! Temp was cold that day, maybe 70, but as week progressed, it got to 80*-85*. Turning the thermostat fan on didn’t help one bit, in fact you could feel the heat coming out of the vent! Called housing the next morning to complain, as it was easily 80*+ in the room and I was sweating bullets. «Sorry, the AC is turned off for the year» is what they told me. Huh? This is California people, and Southern California with it’s fickle weather and Santa Ana winds blowing… you do NOT turn off the AC for the year! They sent Maintenance out during the day but apparently Maintenance didn’t know the AC was off either cuz when I got back that night, they had turned the thermostat to 95* and put fan on high, prob thinking the AC would kick on! Obv, it did NOT, and it had heated the room to 85*+ degrees!!! To make matters worse, they said they were full and had no where else to move me!!! Long story short, had to let the room cool off as much as it could, «naturally», but the remainder of the trip was hot, stuffy and unbearable. Staff had no «fix» for the problem except to offer a small fan(to what, push the hot ugly air around the room?). I was profoundly disappointed and angry. To make matters worse, there were ants in the room and I found them all over the sink partway thru the stay and those suckers bite, cuz I had some bites to my arms and hands and because they were sooooo tiny(like the thinnest hair you can imagine, and tiny!), I had been itching all week and I’m sure there were ants in the bed.(Another Unilocal reviewer posted a picture of her ants in the bed here!). Pros? Not having to share bathroom with a stranger(interconnecting rooms). Cons? Poor temperature maintaince/control, bugs in the room. Water is «hard» and showers are dark with poor water flow. Make sure you check your bed/sheets; someone in class had bugs in their bed, not sure if they were bedbugs or not, but that’s disgusting and unsanitary!!!

It’s a World War II building, rennovated in the 1970’s, and not much since. Welcome to March Field. When the front desk staff says they will do something, they won’t, last year it was going back and forth trying to get a lodging receipt for TWO months! «Oh the manager has to do that… oh idk, I left a message… I thought they sent that last week…» And so on. This time it’s is making reservations every Tuesday through Friday for orders until June. They had write out all the dates and everything. Come back the next week. «Oh I don’t see anything.» seriously? If you can’t, I understand, but don’t just lie to me. They need professional hotel staff managment and training. The cleaning staff gets their own star on this review. Otherwise the rooms are cleaned daily and are respectable about your things.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. The lodging conditions at The March Inn are despicable. I decided to come down with my husband for his drill weekend and the room we stayed in was disgusting. There were stains all over the wall, and a plethora of ants on the floor, desk, bathroom counter, and in the BED! The Jack and Jill style bathroom was revolting with urine stains above the door handle and on the toilet seat. Not to mention, it was a huge pain to have to lock your neighbors door every time you want to use the bathroom or to shower. Speaking of the shower, make sure you bring flip flops to wear in the stall, the floor is as repulsive as the entire hotel room.

You can’t beat the deal. If you are not by yourself, make sure to ask for a Gilly House… same price, but a whole house instead of single room.

They say the halls are haunted… but I think it’s just the old age of the buildings. The rooms, at least for officers, are nice and spacious. The rooms are always nice and clean. The lodging staff are nice and quick and never have to spend more than 5 minutes getting my room checked out. I especially enjoy getting the DV suites every once in a while, but if you luck out with the Gilly Houses, those provide the most space and amenities for on-base lodging!

The March Inn is a great place to stay they offer a wide variety of spacious comfort. Most of the rooms come with a TV with selected cable channels and a DVD player if you wish to watch a movie. They provide 24⁄7 access to cheap rentals by the check in area of the Inn. The rooms are equipment with a queen size bed with a desk and a closet for your things. They also have a MICRO-FRIDGE, what it is a microwave attached to a refrigerator it’s pretty neat. Wi-Fi is completely free just need to agree on some terms and it is not like those Wi-Fi’s where the signal is weak. One thing I don’t I like about these rooms is that you share a bathroom/Shower with another individual but nothing is perfect. Overall it is an awesome place to stay while on base.
