My first visit to Wild Orchid was met with a bit of trepidation due to the rather lackluster tenant that used to occupy this address. That said, while the atmosphere hasn’t changed much, fortunately the food has. As others have mentioned, no order here is complete without at least one egg roll — they’re great. The menu has a number of Vietnamese items(i.e., bun, phở, etc.) and a few American Chinese and Thai items thrown in for good measure. The phở hits the spot on a chilly day, especially after going overboard on the accompanying chili oil and hot sauce. Other items like the lo mein and noodle salads have been fine, if nothing remarkable. Service has always been no frills — you’ll order, food will come, sometimes you’ll get a water refill, sometimes you won’t. Who cares, just order more egg rolls.

We had lunch at Wild Orchid around 1pm on a Friday. We quickly were seated and given water promptly. We ordered Vietnamese egg roll to share, my daughter ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and I ordered the Curry Chicken lunch special. The egg rolls are freshly made and hot! They are not frozen ones, and they are quite tasty. They had a ton of pork in them. My daughters Pad Thai was very flavorful, the only complain was the shrimp was chewy and overcooked. My Curry Chicken was spicy and tasty but lacked veggies, it only was chicken and onions. Overall it was satisfying.

Great Vietnamese egg rolls. The phở with rare beef is excellent and the broth part has really good flavor as if it has been made with a good stock. The servers are all friendly and quick. I like Wild Orchid a lot.

Very good value. We had 1 order of sweet and sour chicken, and an order of fries wontons. Walked away with enough food for another meal each. Good food, VERY friendly workers!

I was so ready to write a positive review. The place is located in a strip mall desperately in need of parking lot restoration. Inside I was greeted with a big smile. The two rooms were clean and modern. The menu was what I expected. I always have the egg rolls. Minnesota Vietnamese eggs rolls are like no others in the USA. I get excited. I ordered. There was one big screen television with the local ABC channel. It was loud enough to hear from the next room. The egg rolls arrived and then disappointment followed. There was no taste. The sauce had no taste. The insides had no taste. I found myself taking a bite if only to remember how they should taste. I smiled. I paid my bill. I left a tip. If not for the kindness and enthusiasm of the waitress this would be a one star rating.

I’m usually not given to hyperbole. I’m being honest when I say that the phở here is PHENOMENAL. Rich, flavorful broth that makes your mouth water. The pad thai is also fabulous. I go here about every other month. The service is always above-and-beyond excellent. Prices are very fair. This restaurant is best-in-class.

Pad Thai — All the Way! Fresh! Sweet and Rich! Spicy and Zesty! Fresh and Crisp! Oh, and did I mention Fresh? The service is excellent, too — they greet you at the door with enthusiasm and positive energy. The atmosphere is clean and fresh. Yum!

We started with some of the best crispy egg rolls that we have ever eaten and the food only got better from there. All of the food we tried was outstanding. Further, the service was great. We look forward to going back again. Wild Orchid has definitely replaced Yangs as our favorite Asian restaurant in the Woodbury area, if not the metro. Highly recommended.

I’ve tasted many different phở restaurants in my days. This has got to be the most tasteless phở ever. I only have it another star for great customer service. Too many better tasting phở places around town. It’s a shame, since Vietnamese phở are usually the best.

To start, the egg rolls here are some of the best in the Twin Cities. If you don’t order them, you’re definitely missing out on something delicious. The few times I have eaten here I have to say that the food hasn’t been stellar, but it is solidly good. From Lo Mein to Bun salad to Beef with Broccoli, I have enjoyed every item I’ve had. On top of the decent food, the family that runs the restaurant is absolutely friendly and kind. There is a real charm that accompanies the dining experience that turns this from a 3-star place into a 4-star place. Some of the dishes could have a bit more spice and a bit more depth of flavor, but I’ve never regretted anything I’ve gotten here. For a solidly good Vietnamese/Chinese experience, I happily visit Wild Orchid.

Outstanding place. Vietnamese and Chinese menu. Ordered Pot stickers that were some of the best I’ve ever had. I had the sesame chicken and was asked how hot/spicy on a 1 – 5 scaled. Have never had that option before. Entrée was excellent. Our party of three are here visiting for five days on business. We try something different every night. We fouls Wild Orchid via Unilocal and came in based on the strong reviews. We all agree that this was a great, local spot and would frequent here if it was in out neighborhood. I would rate 5 stars if ratings were solely based on the food. I’ll deduct one star based on location, less than décor and atmosphere.

I wasn’t aware that Duc’s had moved, so we ended up eating here by accident. The interior is the same. Same cheesy decorations, tables and cheap lighting. You don’t go there for the ambience, so no big deal. We were approached immediately. I found it odd that the server never asked if we wanted anything to drink. She brought us each a glass of water and asked if we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. We had to shoo her away for a minute so we could at least glance at the menu.(I still couldn’t tell you what beverages they offer!) We ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, special lo mein and egg foo yung. She said, «Sorry, we’re out of egg foo yung. It’s the weekend, you know.» Huh? Does that mean you’re out because you planned poorly? I don’t get that. Anyway, we switched that order to sesame chicken. The spring rolls and egg rolls were to die for. Next time I’ll just get the egg rolls and call it a meal, they were that good. The lo mein was also very tasty, albeit a little light on the pork and shrimp. My husband said the sesame shrimp was very good, and, even at a level 2, a little too spicy. Bottom line? Get it to go. Great food, crummy atmosphere.

I would have never known this place existed if not for Unilocal.I am very happy to say we had the restaurant to ourselves. The location makes this place a bit hidden but it’s worth looking for. I really enjoyed the white jasmine tea. I had some Phở and my friend had the Pad Thai.

Google«Wild Orchid» and the results will be a soft-core porn starring Mickey Rourke. HA! How ridiculously random to associate an Asian fusion restaurant with a porno! Fast forward to me deep-throating an egg-roll. Ok, rewind, so this place used to be Duc’s a little while ago, which kinda sucked Duc, so I was skeptical when I showed up to Wild Orchid, which looked the same as the previous business. I have since been back a handful of times for lunch because this place is thankfully a huge improvement. I was recognized after just a couple visits, service is fast, the employees are super friendly, and one of them sounds like Louise from Bob’s Burgers. That is a good thing in my book, and an even better thing that instead of finding a «Human Polenta-Pede Burger» in front of me, I usually find delicious Mi, egg rolls, and bun. It was frustrating how long it took me to find an egg roll that t I like in the Midwest. I mean, how hard can it be to make something deep friend, delicious, and phallic? But Wild Orchid’s had finally presented me with a crave-worthy one. I don’t even know what it is about it that’s so addicting, I just hope it’s legal. I recommend checking out their ~$ 8 lunch specials. I enjoy their pork bun, which is a generous serving and comes with an E-roll. My only complaint is that they’re skimpy on the cucumber and carrots even when I ask for extra. I also recommend their Combination Mi, which includes thin egg noodles(that hold up much better than the rice noodles in phở), wontons, pork, and shrimp. Oh, but I’m not a fan of their egg drop soup, as it had random chicken nubs in it ugh. I’m so glad that Wild Orchid is in my work neighborhood, and that horny Mickey Rourke is not.

This is a good place. Great Phở. Spring rolls were good but the Phở was on point. Nice family run place. Could use a little better service but it worked today. Good spot.

The lunch special is a great deal! I came here on a lunch date with my mother before going to get mani/pedis. This restaurant is in an older strip of shops, so don’t let the outside view turn you away. It was a little hard to find parking because the lot is very small, but we were there during prime lunch time(a Friday around 12). We didn’t have to wait to be seated and the service was very friendly and accommodating. The manager even stopped by our table to ask how things were going. We decided to share the Kung Pao Chicken, and Green Curried Chicken combos. They came with your choice of fried or white rice and an egg roll. The egg rolls were delivered to our table before the rest of the food, steaming hot. I am not exaggerating when I say that this was the best egg roll I’ve EVER tasted in my entire life. It was crunchy and crispy and entirely satisfying, especially when dipped in the ponzu sauce served on the side. A really nice thing that Wild Orchid does is they ask you which level of spice you’d like your meal to have based on a 1 – 5 scale. We ordered ours a 4 and it was executed perfectly. The chicken wasn’t fatty or of poor quality at all. And the vegetables were definitely fresh and slathered in sauce. Best part: Each of our meals were only 7.50!!! Great deal and big portions.

Amazing egg rolls and they are big! Cream cheese wontons were good. Both my husband and I enjoyed our chicken Phở. Prices are very reasonable. I definitely will be back! :)

I guess I’m a bit spoiled with living next to Vietnamese town in Cali, cuz this place was just ok. It started great with the cream cheese wonton and the sweet sauce it came with was perfect! Then the egg drop soup was hearty and well flavored, but the sesame seed chicken was just ok. Was really hoping for something more savory and crunchy, but some of the chicken had a wierd taste and not as churchy as I had hopped. I may come back here n give it a second shot, but I’ll probably try another dish.

Wild Orchid opened two months ago. Not normally an area we visit, but based on participation in sky miles dining and two reviews we gave it a try. Food was excellent. We started with spring rolls and potstickers, both of which were very well prepared. The potstickers were freshly made. We followed this up with chow fan noodles and a bowl phở. Again very well prepared. Honestly would have given 5 stars, but they do not serve beer.

Outstanding food in an unlikely location. Yes from the outside it looks like a dumpy strip mall dive, caught between a greasy pizza joint and a greasy hamburger joint(AKA McDonald’s). But don’t let the location fool you– this is an excellent Asian restaurant with fantastic fresh food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, all of which were good, especially the spring rolls and egg rolls. Our youngest son, who normally detests vegetables, gobbled down 3 of the spring rolls and asked for more. Now THAT’s a five-star review. On to the Phở, which was delicious. They have a number of different choices, and as I was getting confused, the waiter helped steer me in a good direction. The Phở was excellent, it tasted very fresh. I had the one with shaved beef and noodles. Yum! Prices were very reasonable, and the service was top-notch. I would definitely go back.
