I love this place. I love the atmosphere, and the people who work there are always good to me. I have been going there since shortly after it opened, and I will continue to go there when I’m at home in my St. Louis house. I was going to go out with a friend, but he cancelled because he had to work. I didn’t want to cook because it was too late to really cook anything, so I went to Stone Spiral and got something called a half and half. It’s a cup of the soup or chili, or whatever they have, and a half sandwich. I got a half and half with Acorn Squash bisque and a half Veggie Deluxe sandwich; the Veggie Deluxe is one of my favorite sandwiches that they have. The Acorn Squash bisque was a smoothe and creamy delight with a light taste of the squash, and if you like that kind of squash, you will like this soup. I thought that it was delightful. I wish that I had ordered a bowl for myself. Try it; you might like it. If you don’t like squash, don’t try it. I am glad that I went there because now, I have another soup that I like.

Nice neighborhood coffee shop. I have come here on a number of occasions to do homework. Definitely go for the bottomless cup if you plan on staying awhile.

My coworkers coaxed me to come with them for lunch here recently. I obliged. As soon as I stepped in, the place reminded me of the coffee shops I hung out in —in the late 90’s back in college. Very nostalgic looking. There’s a library looking area in the back of the place. I had the chicken sandwich(mostly of which I scooped the chicken off the top bread and ate like a pizza.) It was so-so. I’m in love with the kom com(kombucha) and had a ginger one. Place was quiet, laid back and Portlandish. Next offer to spend lunch here with the ladies will be graciously and politley declined. I’ll eat lunch at my desk. :)

It’s a couple blocks off Manchester — go north on Sutton, it’s at the corner by Ryan Hummert Park — and that’s only part of what’s great about Stone Spiral. There’s also the happy, welcoming people who work there, the truly diverse crowd of customers, the large 2 rooms(stay all day if you want — you won’t get kicked off the wifi!!!) Coffee and food are great. This place is a gem. Asks below: Good for dancing? At times sure. They have live music 6 days a week in the evenings.

I like coffee and coffee shops. If you’re a connoisseur of both, you know they have a complicated relationship. Serving great coffee doesn’t guarantee you’re in a great coffee shop. Having a great atmosphere doesn’t mean you’re going to drink great coffee. Stone Spiral does well enough in both of these criteria to be my favorite coffee shop in St. Louis. Go there if you want a place to stay in for a few hours, drink good, strong, locally roasted coffee, and spend less than $ 3. Yes, it’s on the Bohemian side with psychedelic show posters lining the wall. Yes, some of the regulars are eccentric. That’s what makes this place so unique: it’s without airs. How many places can you go to anymore that don’t care how long you stay? Coffee shops have gotten increasingly high brow over the years, leading to better coffee and worse customer service. Stone Spiral is an exception, thankfully. Chat as long as you’d like. Read as long as you’d like. Write as long as you like. The bottomless cup really does deserve its name.

Stopped here for breakfast take out. For the price of a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, I’d rather go elsewhere. Sorry but $ 8 is crazy. Granted it was very tasty and had layers upon layers on gooey cheddar melted between egg and bacon. Not a ton of bacon though. Anyway — this place is definitely somewhere I would go for a cup of coffee to chat or even to check out the local acts they have every day of the week. It was quiet and clean, and that’s good for me.

The chilled soup option was exactly what I was looking for on a hot afternoon. A freshly prepared Kale gazpacho — flavors of cucumber, olives, black pepper, garlic and a hint of red pepper — served with lightly seasoned and toasted pita triangles. The cup size was plenty. Haven’t tried any other food options, hence the 4 stars. Refreshing and filling. Looking forward to catching another variety before summer runs out.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast while traveling. 21 dollars for one hot coffee, a bagel with egg and bacon and a wheat bread sandwich with bacon tomatoe and spinach. there were 6 of us and our food came out at all different times. besides that the environment was fun and interesting and there was a musician.

Pretty nice place. You can always find parking, good coffee at a good price, baked goods are decent, and you can always find a seat. Its nothing incredible, but if you’re in Maplewood it should be a go-to place.

My favorite of all the coffee shops I’ve checked out. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood on the corner, it’s quirky and calm; it’s the perfect place to get work done. Had an iced Americano and it was fantastic! Cool outdoor sidewalk patio too.

The shop is quite quirky and the service is friendly. I felt that my coffee was over priced– large iced vanilla latte with almond milk was $ 7! It was a satisfying drink but not sure it was worth $ 7 plus tip.

This coffee shop has the best atmosphere for coffee in town. Too many places in st. Louis either feel bland or pretentious. This place feels artsy and inviting. Some of St. Louis best musicians play here often. I usually get espresso, which is locally roasted and unique to stone spiral. Food wise, I love the quiche and grits.

I’m not much into the ‘coffee shop thing’, but my group had a couple meetings here recently, and I discovered how nice and laid back this place is. They had live music when we were there both times, and sometimes its not alright during a meeting. But the food was great nonetheless. I had the spicy bacon sandwich, along with a couple pastries and soda. By the way, they make their own sodie! The Italian way, that is. You gotta love that, for someone who’s obsessed with craft sodas. Its a great place though. The only real downer is the parking. I really don’t like parking on the street, especially if this place is by a park and several homes. Other words, its in a weird part of town, not with the rest of the crowd opposite Manchester.

Their iced Americano’s are the best in Maplewood and I e tried them all! Also I love the veggie burrito. The only potential issue would be if you were in a rush. Sometimes food and drinks to take up to 30 min.

I visited Stone Spiral Coffee on a Saturday morning about 9 a.m. I was surprised at how empty is was, but it was filled to capacity when I left about 10:30. So, a little later crowd. It’s bigger than it looks, which I appreciate because there’s nothing like having your heart set on enjoying a great cup of coffee and then finding nowhere to sit. They certainly earn the«& Curios» in their name — a virtual candy land of weird things adorns the walls. There is also a community bookshelf if you need something to occupy your mind or hands. I would not describe it as cozy; but it is welcoming and friendly. The place has large windows, high ceilings and lots of light. The coffee was superb and the breakfast sandwich was delicious, involving excellent bread, eggs and avocado. I will definitely return to Stone Spiral Coffee.

This is not only a great place to get a great cup of coffee but also to discover a new musical talent. Stone Spiral has a great reputation for finding new acts but also providing a great drink along with that. This establishment has not only a unique and hip atmosphere but often times you can stop in and find a new artist singing/playing for a crowd. Not only do they provide live entertainment but they promote their fellow artists by providing a community table for all to promote. What a great business to be proud of for the Maplewood community.

I came here looking for a nice place to get some work done on my laptop, and I’m quite happy with my experience! CON: — Only one: a little overpriced compared to other local competitors. Not much of a deterrent to me though, pros definitely outweigh the cons. PROS: — Great ambience. Not loud at all, decent amount of ambient noise for those who like it for studying/working. During the day there were a lot of tables open, even with a decent amount of customers present. Also, access to outlets for charging is easy. I look forward to coming back for their nighttime events. — Good drinks/food and service. My friend and I split a bagel/cream cheese and hummus and pita, both were delicious and ready quickly. My latte was also well-made. I definitely will be back! Possibility to be bumped up to five stars.
