Went for the first time today and loved it! Had a maple bacon scone egg/cheese breakfast sandwich, and a caraway and munster cheese one. Had a cappuccino and mocha, and the spicy mexican chocolate pound cake. Yum! Owner was SUPER friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

I love a good cup of joe and while I can(and do) make some at home, I prefer it from a cute coffee shop that’s kid friendly. Cedar Ridge has that and excellent customer service. I kinda heart the owners… or who I assume are the owners. During my first visit, I checked in and got some free goodies. It was a coconut cherry scone. I avoid coconut but my husband was a huge fan. I got a small coffee(after a month of being coffee free) and lemon poppy muffin, dude got a latte. Everything was good. Very friendly atmosphere. Lots of locals and regulars which is an indicator of just how awesome this place is. I’ve been back a few times and the service and scene is always the same.

Discovered this place via a pal who goes often. Sadly, I didn’t know it existed. I love it there! The food is cozy and yummy and the coffee is great. They also have tasty vegan desserts. Great place.

Wow! So happy we stumbled upon this place! The owner, Paul, is very welcoming and is proud of his business which is so refreshing. He greeted us, talked with us, and offered us a piece of his delicious, light and fluffy coffee cake(with pecans on top) on the house because he knew we would love it. We each got a coffee which was very good and tried the Brown Sugar Cashew Scone. It was amazing– the perfect hint of brown sugar so it was not too sweet and bits of cashew throughout the scone but the best part about it was how perfectly moist it was. I know I’m going on about this but I haven’t found many cafes that you can order something out of the counter and it’s incredible. We are so excited to go back for breakfast and lunch!

They occasionally have vegan donuts that are to die for! Heavenly circles! Damn good espresso too, but let’s get back to those donuts!

This place is such a gem. I wish there were more places like this around. The owner, Paul is such a friendly guy. The atmosphere is so engaging with a sense of community. I actually find this place to be therapeutic on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The food is comforting and delicious. Every employee has got personality! Brendan is the. Sweet as can be. If you want something down to earth, fun and comfortable, this is a place to check out. I will be going back… A lot.

I call this place, The Happy Spot! Everyone is very friendly. How can you not love a place where you can write on the window what you are grateful for? Love it!

Awesome café and bakery. Delicious salads, sandwiches, soups, etc. Plus, wonderful baked goods and coffee(hot or cold brewed iced!) We love having lunch at Cedar Ridge. Both Joe and Paul work great together and always make us feel like we are in a second home! Feels like the show Cheers in that they really know their customers names and what they order. The Café feels like is belongs in Woodstock, NY. We love it!

For my first review as a NJ resident, and seeing as they are located just down the road from me, I need to give due praise to Cedar Ridge. Located at the corner of Cedar Lane and Ridgewood Road(their namesake), this little bohemian coffee shop and bakery is killer. As soon as I walked in, I felt at home. It is warm, kitschy, comfortable and fun. The proprietors, Joe and Paul, are awesome dudes and the banter that they stir up is worth the price of admission, alone. The space is on the small side and it’s popular, so it can feel a bit tight, but everyone who comes in is very chill, so the vibe is always convivial. So far, I have only had their coffee and their sconewich. The coffee is solid. I didn’t ask, and I’m no pro, but it tastes primarily like they use Latin American or African beans. Nice flavor, but not overly strong or dark. The sconewich, on the other hand, is really what has kept me coming back. As you may have guessed, it’s a breakfast sandwich(egg and cheese) on a scone of your choice. I have only had the savory variety, but you can go the sweet route if that’s more your speed. They change their offerings daily, and as an insider’s tip, the maple bacon one is only available on the weekends. I don’t know how they do it, but the eggs are always cooked just right with a little bit of runniness and the scones are warm and soft. Instant happiness! Cedar Ridge is a great neighborhood small business, operating consciously and doing right by the community. You would do well to check them out if/when you’re in the neighborhood!

There are so many things I value about this establishment. Within two visits, employees were addressing me by name with a smile. No other restaurant I’ve been to can make that claim, including the downtown places I’ve been going to since I was a kid. They are all so sweet to me, but they also go out of their way to engage with and accomodate the many children that come in throughout the day. I am so impressed with what I’ve seen from the staff. The friendly atmosphere and homey decore tie in perfecrly with the food, which is scrumptious and sometimes quirky(in a good way). Their sconewich is a favorite of mine but I would also recommend the breakfast burrito, sundry baked goods(many of which are vegan) or the croque monsieur for lunch. It’s nurturing, happy food! Their cold brewed iced coffee is deserving of a post all its own, but I’ll refrain. Let’s just say that it’s my absolute favorite. Gone are the days of the afternoon coffee stop. One cup of CR’s blend does the trick in the morning. I almost can’t stand to drink anything else! Overall, Cedar Ridge is a great place to meet for lunch, to hunker down and do some reading or work on your laptop. It’s cozy and you’d be hard pressed to leave there without at least one new friend.

I’m going to put up a no for this one. I had an Asian chicken salad, a banana muffin and a «fresh» lemonade. The prices aren’t listed and so I ended up paying $ 17+ for all three. I would be fine with it if the lemonade didn’t taste really watered down and if the salad was overly disappointing. It didn’t look washed and the mandarins didn’t taste fresh(I would know being that it’s my fav fruit) The girl in the front was all over the place. I was in the middle of asking her a question when she turned her back to me with no warning to discuss something with her boss which was extremely rude. I also got my salad in a pathmark plastic bag. The rest of the staff seemed friendly and it seemed to be a cute place. I would just say the price wasn’t worth it for the salad and the lemonade… not sure if I would try it again.

I’m just going to chalk this one up to «not for me, thanks.» Don’t get me wrong, everyone else seems to dig it, so I’m likely in the minority here, and thats OK by me, can’t love’em all. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty busy, but not line-up-out-the-door busy. There were a ton of kids there, and as kids are they were a bit rambunctious, which is fine, though not the«let’s have a quiet afternoon coffee before we grocery shop» that I had planned. It seemed like there was an echo in the place as well which added to the disorienting experience, especially when you add in the espresso maker and general kitchen noise. We were greeted in a loud, though pleasant manner, again, likely due to the construction site level of ambient noise. The counter staff were a bit too«out of central casting» from a hipster Brooklyn coffee shop for me. I get loving coffee and all, but reading the clientele is also important. Things were a bit too showy for my liking, again, likely my fault for wanting a much more mellow experience. I ended up with a satisfactory espresso in an appropriate, tiny, takeout cup(I hate when a «to go» espresso ends up in a giant coffee cup, making it freezing cold within seconds). My wife also seemed to enjoy her green tea as we wandered the aisles of Trader Joe’s, but I can’t see making it back to Cedar Ridge again any time soon.

I’ve driven past this place so many times without giving it any thought but I’m so happy I was finally able to check it out! The Café has a really quaint atmosphere. The space isn’t that large but they make the most of the space. They have a wide variety of teas(with free refills) and the vegan cupcakes are amazing!

I love this place! Very nice staff and the coffee is excellent. If you don’t like cream or sugar in your coffee, then you would love their iced coffee. Also baked goods are great, some are a bit strange but there are many options. Only issues are that it is a little bit expensive, it is definitely affecting my bank account. I also wish they had there prices shown for their breakfast and lunch items. Overall, fantastic!

A cute clean café, excellent coffee and a very good frittata. Friendly management. Next time I’ll try something baked. My only complaint was that the frittata was a bit light on the bacon and cheddar. But the frittata was well made and quite good.

Cedar Ridge serves up my favorite iced latte by far in the area. If you’re a coffee snob, read this: they use Porto Rico beans. I don’t know about you, but I *love* Porto Rico coffee. So good! Oh, but their baked goods are pretty great, too. So far, I’ve tried the anzac cookies, sugar cookies, maple bacon cookies(!!!), maple bacon scone, and a raspberry oatmeal bar-sort of thing. They were all delicious, and none were sickly sweet. Really great stuff. Oh, and the staff? They’re all super-friendly, very accommodating(especially with kids, which is kinda necessary in this town), and carry on entertaining conversations. If you’re debating over whether or not to visit, just go ahead and do it. You’ll have a great time!(And psst! A birdie told me that they might open on Sundays in the future. Keep your eyes and ears peeled!)

Lots of vegan options. Some of the vegan stuff is very«healthy» sounding which is cool if that’s what you like. My favorite is the cookie dough truffles. I also had two different vegan cupcakes that were awesome as well. It’s nice to see a traditional bakery with vegan options They also have lunch type food which I’ve never had

GREAT café! Had lunch Nov. 2013. Shrimp roll sandwich was fabulous: Bay shrimp? no, meaty, tasty sliced big shrimp. All celery? No, just enough for a little crunch. Goopy mayo? No, just enough to hold it together. Saw some negative reviews of the cupcakes, but I had the pumpkin and tried the carrot cake, and thought both were very good. And the owner and wait staff couldn’t have been nicer or more friendly. If I lived here, this would be an instant regular destination.

Best coffee in town! I love this place, reminds me of some of my favorite coffee shops back in SF. Delicious baked goods that you can taste the love! I don’t even get their cupcakes, but prefer the many other delicious goodies that they offer. Their scones are pretty delectable… maple bacon yum yum! Relaxing, fun environment and the tunes are always on. Make a request, he uses Pandora. Seriously, did I mention the coffee.
