Hop Jacks

Good food. First time, very slow service, second time, didn’t sit in the bar and the service was much better. However, it’s pricey! Patty Melt, grilled cheese (fancy) sandwich, mango lemonade, and one 22oz HopJacks IPA, total bill $ 36.27.

We went here for an early dinner yesterday afternoon ⁰⁵⁄₃₁. The place was pretty slow when we first arrived by we were the beginning of their dinner rush. It was gorgeous outside so we decded to take advantage of their outdoor seating. Our drink order was taken quickly and we got our first round within just a few minutes. While we were decding on entrees the outdoor patio quickly filled up, we were one of the first two tables but within 20 minutes or so there had to be at least 8 other tables sat.
There was only one server outside and he told us that he also had some tables indoors. Everything quickly proved to be too much for the server to handle. He took our order, but we didn’t really see him again until we asked for the check.
While we waited for our entrees another server came by asking if we wanted refills on our drinks, another beer and wine were ordered, but they never came. About ten minutes later our server quickly stopped by to see if we were ok and we mentioned the other drinks hadn’t shown up, he knew nothing about them. I don’t think the other server told him we had ordered anything.
Food arrived without too much of a wait and it was delicious. We ordered a Western burger, philly cheese steak, french dip, and chicken ceasar salad. It all tasted great, it was a little on the heavy side though. They make their own potato chips that are a definite must try. I would love to go back and try some other entrée items. The flavors were spot on for American bar food, and it was all fresh out of the kitchen. Nothing sat too long before being served.
When we were ready for the check it took a long time to get the attention of our server. He finally dropped the ckeck and then left for several more minutes even though we were ready to pay. We got our check processed and he had run our card on a different table. The bill was for about $ 80 but the slip he gave us to sign was only $ 50. We wanted to be honest so we tracked him down again and told him the problem. He said he would fix it, but didn’t return with the correct check for 15 – 20 minutes. Meanwhile the manager was running around greeting tables, but not addressing any problems. I don’t think it is appropriate for a manger to be doing table touches when his staff is clearly in the weeds. There are bigger fish to fry at that point.
When the correct check was brought the server could not correctly explain the new total. He had voided/​combined checks and re-​run the card, but the way he presented it seemed like the card had been charged twice. Meanwhile he had taken a check to the table next to us as well and only charged them $ 4 for their $ 50 meal. They brought it to his attention, but were having a hard time getting things taken care of as well.
Our server seemed very new and not capable of handling such a large section on his own. In all fairness I am not sure the most veteran of servers could have handled that many tables at once. This place suffered from a lack of organization, communication, and sense of urgency for the guests. The manager should be making sure his place is running smoothly not just schmoozing with guests while the place crumbles around him.

Stopped with some pals for late night happy hour on Thursday and it was hopping for sure. there were so many kids up late for dinner it was shocking to me (mine was at home and had been asleep for hours :) — the happy hour options were great. fried everything and it was delish. garlic fries, fried pickles, fried zucchini, my drink was good and service was ok.
Some people want to compare this to red robin but hop jacks beats red robin most days :)

I’ve been to four different locations and twice to this particular one. Always good food, drinks, and service. Pricing and portions are good. Never had to wait very long for seating.

If I could give half a star I would have
I was really disappointed after having a late lunch here and I will never come back. I took my Grandmother out for her birthday lunch and the service was horrible! Then another customers child lost it and threw a heavy mug full of liquid across the isle throwing ice all over our table.
The kid had to be 12 so there’s no reason why the parents shouldn’t have got up and left. They didn’t! The people working there didn’t even come help clean up the mess.
They finally did when I walked over and asked if anyone actually worked in this place. The food is typical garbage (apple-​bees Red Robin ish) but the horrendous service and complete lack of care by the employees was disturbing!
That mug missed my 3 year olds head by inches! Not only did the employees do nothing… They actually sat there watching! I didn’t really feel bad for the kids parents because I had a toddler with me and if he had done ANYTHING to disturb another diner I would have immediately packed him up and left. My son is 3 and somehow managed to act older than the staff and the tween who was throwing heavy objects around!
I have already told all my friends and family NOT to waste their time or money giving this place a chance.
Usually I imagine it doesn’t actually hurt a business but my extended family is huge and mostly live around the Maple Valley area…
I’d really hate for someone else to be tricked into eating or drinking in this dumpy chain restaurant with an uncaring staff so I decided to leave a Unilocal review

Such a great place. Everytime I go I get excellent service and delicious food. I especially like the pulled pork sandwich. They have there own selection of craft beers as well as guest beers. It I’d definitely worth checking out, you won’t be disappointed.

Love the ice cold beer at 34 degrees. Good quality food and nice staff. I find the actual restaurant to be rather weird and awkward. It feels small and confined. It is often full and we usually go elsewhere when we see the line. I do really like the fish and chips with a cold beer,

Food is good BUT, Turned from 4 to 1 real fast while being there. Server only saw us once to get our food order and once to finally come after we were done to get our check. Now we are in a rush as we speak, I couldn’t even get one of the 4 girls attention that seemed like they were all doing just about the same job, probably training the others. I asked for ketchup from the girl who brought the food and she never came back, then asked the hostess right in front of us and she had some right next to her. Bad service

I have been coming here a ton since it has been open. Food is always good, no matter what. Last night, I had noticed our food hadn’t come and it was taking a lot more time than it normally does. Without asking, our waitress had already acknowledged this, a manager offered a discount and free dessert, and we had a few employees check on us for the rest of the night. I work on customer service, and I did not expect Hop Jack’s to offer something like this. Customer service like this will have me always going to this Hop Jack’s, it’s my favorite!

If you like greasy pressed burgers that by the second bite turn into burger salads, this is the place for you!
This place gets very busy on the weekends. TINY waiting area, barely any chairs, constantly having to move out of the way for people to enter/​exit restaurant, or to use the restrooms. Large bar, and an outdoor patio area. 3 tables, the rest are all booths. The hosts are friendly and attentive — watched them go help the bussers get tables cleaned multiple times.
Our server was frantically running around — it was very busy, and she was working her butt off. She was very nice and friendly — very helpful about menu questions as well.
We don’t drink alcohol, but the drinks looked very popular as most tables had a few.
We both ordered burgers with fries. I got the Deluxe Burger, with the sauce on the side. By itself, like dipping fries in it, the sauce is good. On the burger, not so much. Got a side of BBQ that I added on the burger, much better. I love burgers, so very much. But literally two bites in, I couldn’t even pick it up the meat was falling apart so much. The buns were completely soggy from grease too. It basically wasn’t even a burger — I attempted to eat the rest with a fork, but anytime I’d try to pick the meat up it would fall apart even more. So I gave up — didn’t even eat half. I think my boyfriend got the Morning Burger, and his was the same: falling apart, and super soggy bun. The fries were also extremely greasy.
Would like to come back as they had some other items on the menu that intrigued me, but definitely will not be getting any more burgers from here.

Happy Hour is consistently good and the staff is very friendly. Good food for great prices. Gummy bear drink comes in a glass made of ice! Burger is pretty good for the area.
Homemade donuts are just delicious!!!

Have eaten here so many times I’ve lost count! Always have great food and excellent service! Will definitely continue eating here!

Good fries nice seating. Lemonade and the kids macaroni aren’t that good though. I always get the fries on the side because it’s the only thing I end up eating.

Great burgers and a great happy hour. The drinks are always good here. I love street tacos and the fresh brewed ice tea. Also for dessert, try the donuts.

Went here during happy hour (9-​close). It took us about 10 mins to get seated due to the lack of faces as we entered the establishment. We were also the only ones waiting there, but the service got better once we got seated. We ordered their flat iron steak and onion rings from their happy hour menu. I thought these two items were really tasty! The special sauce that came with the onion rings went really good with it. This was my first time at a Hop Jacks and other than the odd wait in the beginning, I’ll be back to try other things on their menu.

I had dinner at Hop Jacks on Sunday 9−27−15. I had a Bacon Cheeseburger, which was good. I tried their house made chips. Very bland with no flavor. I also ordered Boneless Wings. They were very good. The service was just okay. Our waitress never came by to see if we wanted anything more to drink.
Overall, it was okay. I’ll probably try it again someday.

I used to live in auburn and we had a Hop Jacks there and absolutely LOVED it there. The staff was friendly and their food/​drinks were so good. So I was excited that there was one 15mins from where I live now.
After trying this place a few times, it is definitely a different atmosphere than Auburn’s. The staff here aren’t as happy or friendly. And their lemonades here aren’t as good as Auburn’s which was such a disappointment! But the food is good as always. Came out in a timely manner.

I really like this place, everyone was super friendly and service was fast. I think it’s so cool that some of the drinks are severed in a ice cup. The food I order was amazing. I got the BBQ pull pork sandwich with fresh chips on the side. The meat wasn’t dry and the amount of BBQ sauce they out on the sandwich was prefect. I hate how some restaurant would drench the sandwich in the sauce. But this place does it prefect. I’m definitely coming back here and you guys should come check it out.

I really wasn’t impressed with this place. Food and service was average. Great place to watch sports on the TVs. It does get crowded on weekends though.

I have eaten here multiple times since our first visit and although I wouldn’t order the chicken strips again all of the other food I’ve had here is delicious!
Some of the highlights:
Buffalo chicken flatbread — crispy deliciousness!
Spicy chicken grilled cheese — oh my goodness sooo good and super filling
All of the burgers are really well seasoned and taste wonderful. My fav is the jalapeño burger (see a trend with the spicy food?)
The tater tots are always delicious and my hubby loves the clam chowder.
