Chocolates Cherries & Blondes

Completely disappointed! I was not going to publicly share my story but after I called yesterday morning at 9 am for a manager to call me back and did not receive a call from anyone I decided to let everyone know about this place!
I used to go there and love my service from Kia ! It’s been years since I had been there I saw it in groupon and decided to give it a try again. I ordered the full foil, haircut, deep conditioner and style. I received 2 of those in 4hours 15 min! Yes !! Over 4 hours for foil and hair cut! I got there at 6 pm and a sweet girl was my stylist I don’t blame her. She was brand new I don’t think she should have her license at all, my 12 year old could do it better and faster! My hair is hideous both cut and color! I did not leave the salon until 10:15! I was going to give them a chance to fix it however not receiving a call yesterday let me know I would rather pay to get my hair fixed and let everyone I know know about this place, I have been in the area for many many years and will defiantly make a difference!

new to the area and tried this place. my haircut and style was decent, but i got a very bad balayage color treatment. my hair had stripes, was splotchy and spotty and very solid i color. the technique was terrible. when i got home i noticed that my shirt was completely bleached in the back, they did not use plastic wrap or foils on my hair, and my hair is longer than the protective cape, therefor it touched my back and ruined my shirt. normally i would let the salon know, but i have so little confidence that they would be able to fix this disaster that i went to a different salon to have my hair fixed. it looks better, but will still need another visit with a professional stylist to get it close to where it was before i went to chocolates, cherries and blondes. so sad and disappointed, i left with ruined hair.

So far, I’ve visited this place 2 times.
1^st appt: haircut, semi perm gloss, eyebrow tint & wax/​shape.
When arriving they have a excellent drink menu… NICE
Haircut was done by owner…& she is excellent. She also put a heated lavender wrap on my neck… lovely.
Semi Perm hair Gloss was done by a level 2 stylist — and she did a good job listening to my color requests and mixing it up. Additionally she waxed/​shaped tinted my eyebrows, and did an adequate job. (not the best — but not bad either). She TRIED Very Hard to please me.
Overall-​I was pleased with my 1^st visit, & after a few months of research I felt I had made a good salon change choice by selecting CCB. Hence, I scheduled another appt with the Level 2 gal, (She promised she had written down the hair gloss color she mixed for me, and added to my file for future ref… i asked multiple times.)
2^nd appt: did not start off so good… but ended up GREAT with Victoria!
Starting Issues: The prev level 2 stylist had not sched this appt with her as req. She was on vacation. (?). Also, it turned out that even though she swore she added my hair gloss formula to my file… she had not. (…ok).
Ending Outcome: VICTORIA is the BEST HAIR color stylist EVER. I had a foil to help pull out some of prev semi perm color build up. She took my hair color to the BEST it has EVER been. Her shampooing/​conditioning & scalp massage went on for an eternity — and I was in heaven. Then she did the MOST AMAZING eyebrow wax/​shape. The icing on the cake was her incredible eyebrow tint mixing/​matching. Victoria KNOCKED ALL of it OUT OF the PARK!
3^rd Appt: Is for next weekend. I decided to try their facial service, & am trying out Victoria’s hair cutting skills. I’m hoping Victoria is going to be my new Stylist.

If this review was just for the stylist, I would give her 5 stars! Victoria was very nice and my cut and color look great (I gave her a mess to start with). The reason I’m giving a three star review is because of the salon itself. I’m not sure if they’re remodeling or what, but I felt like I was getting my hair done inside a storage unit. Everything felt grimy. The floor was dirty, the baseboards, windowsills and tops of the mirrors were covered in 2 inches of dust. I’m not sure where the spa area is, but there’s no way I could relax in this place.
Second, the lighting is awful! I couldn’t really tell what color my hair ended up. Victoria told me that if I didn’t like the color when I got home that she would fix it free of charge, which is nice, but shouldn’t I be able to tell what color my hair is while in the salon?
Lastly, it was freezing in the salon! I was so cold I didn’t want to take off my jacket, but I knew I had to. After my hair was washed I was so unbelievably cold. I was sitting in the chair, getting my hair cut, shivering. My hands were so cold they ached.
I’ll probably give this place another shot because I liked Victoria, and like I said, they made be remodeling or something. If it’s still dirty and cold the second time, there won’t be a third.

Hailey D. did an excellent job trimming and thinning out my super thick hair. I appreciated they they were able to squeeze me in the same day I called.

Let me start off by saying been there once and they did a great job but after that it was all down hill. My mother and I went to get our hair dyed and cut together but wanted it done by the same lady. They said no problem. We get there she starts my moms color and then mine and she was never seen again. My color turned out being a bark brown also black when I wanted light brown. I started crying right away and was never upset. Everyone at the place new but didn’t do much to fix it. They stripped my hair which then turn out to be a copper red color (told my hair stylist before she did anything that I had copper and red but end up getting both) that all took about 5 hours and by that time my head was burning from all the stuff they used to strip my hair. My hair styles returns to cut my hair for 5 minutes messing up my bangs, doesn’t style my hair and then tells me it’s $ 140 for my hair cut. I later companied to the manager and found out that the own was there the whole time and did nothing about my hair. I then had to call my bank to get my money back. I work for the family business in maple valley and lived in this hair since I was born. Everyone that came into the chevron and seen my hair new where I got it done.

Nikkia is Amazing! I drive all the way from Federal way to see her. My hair looks perfect every time. She always makes time for me with my busy schedule. Nikkia has a heart of gold and makes everyone feel like a million dollars while you are getting your hair done with her. I would recommend her to everyone but then I would have to share her! She is quick, efficient and price is very reasonable there. She does exactly what I ask for and then some every time. Thank you Kia!

These ladies are great! Every time my wife or I go in, its like a breath of fresh air!
The vibe is happy and vibrant. You definitely feel welcomed to be there.
Liz is an amazing massage therapist! Can’t say enough positive things about her knowledge and abilities to help heal. She takes it seriously and you can tell her heart is into it.
My wife enjoys getting her hair done, and typically by a different stylist each time. She’s satisfied each and every time. The proof is in our experiences and we will continue to return!

I went there for 2 years and the best part about going there was meeting my hair stylist Ashlee. When she left she let me know that she had so I could either follow her or use another stylist at the salon. There was no way I was not going to follow her since it’s hard to find an amazing hair stylist. The reason im giving the salon 2 stars is because the salon did not bother to call to inform me Ashlee had left when my apt was coming up. They pawned me off to someone who was fresh out of hair school without telling me. I found out when I received my confirmation email. When they called to confirm i told them to cancel since Ashlee wasn’t working there anymore. They said that she just up and left that day. I knew that was a lie since by that time she had been gone for a week. I don’t know about you but I don’t deal with liars.

So thoroughly disappointed. I actually came to the review section here and, encouraged, went to go get a haircut. I wanted to get in that day and they had time slots open. Plus, it was only a few minutes from my house. $ 40 and I got a haircut, nothing more. She didn’t wash my hair, she didn’t style it afterwards, she barely even brushed it. So frustrating. Plus, she forced small talk the whole time and barely even tried to remember my name.

Hip atmosphere, workers with trendy hair, smiling customers and lots of laughter. It’s obvious they have fun here!
Due to a traumatic hair experience over 13 years ago and my workaholic life, I’ve become a salon nomad. I literally get anxiety when I have hair appointments. I rely on my Unilocalerites to guide me to the best random locations in different states. I’ve never been impressed enough to root myself to one salon or stylist… until now!
Ashley is outstanding! So amazing that I’ve already returned to her twice in the same month. The first visit was a conservative last minute haircut. I needed a trim in my overdue mop of hair. On the Saturday morning before Mother’s Day I thumbed through the Unilocal pages. This one looked promising, so I gave it a shot. Called in at 10am, they were packed due to the holiday, but they still somehow squeezed me in at noon.
I walked in and was instantly impressed. Customers and workers chatting and laughing. Everyone with cute, trendy, and modern cuts. All workers were complimenting each other on their finished customer styles. I’m not sure if they strategically compliment each other not. But even if it is intentional, it is brilliant! It makes a customer feel fabulous when they gush on how good their hair looks.
Now to Ashley… she listened, didn’t push me past my comfort zone, and gave tips and tricks about fixing my hair. Even after the cut, without me asking, she decided to style my hair with bouncy curls and she set them to last all day. Impressed, I decided to set up a follow-​up appointment for a color.
Historically, this is when I disappear and I’m typically a no show for appointment #2. But this time I was so excited to go back. I went drastic for a cut and color and I let Ashley call the shots on what she felt would look good on me. I trusted her that much and she didn’t let me down. A cute a-​line (I cut off tons of hair) with caramel highlights later and I am one happy customer! She gave me a hug and I already set up appointment #3. I guess it’s time to say goodbye to my wandering ways and finally settle down! ;)

one of my oldest dearest friends monica started working here after moving to washington state. i have yet to visit the salon (cause i live in california), but i can recommend her work to anyone who wants their nails done. she was the only one who did my nails years ago when i saw her on a regular basis. i trust her completely and she does excellent work!

I have been trying to find a new place to get my hair done and I have found it! The lady who cut my hair knew exactly what I wanted and my hair turned out great! The staff is friendly and their prices are great. You can also book your appointment online!

I have been going to the same hairstylist for years but she was so far away so I decided to try somewhere more local. Well that was a huge mistake. I had my hair foiled and she left the product in my hair for far too long so she could help other customers. My hair is completely destroyed. The only reason why I am giving 2 stars is because they did offer me a free Keratin treatment to try and repair it but the service was done by the same girl and it did absolutely no good because she rushed through it again to get to other customers.

I have balked at getting my hair professionally colored for years… always resorting to ‘the box.’ BUT I got a living social deal to try a cut/​partial foil/​deep conditioning treatment at Chocolate, Cherries and Blondes for half price, so I treated myself. When I bought it, I didn’t realize it was 30 miles away from my home in Tacoma, so I figured it would be a one time thing. WRONG! I fell in love with my stylist Nikkia, with the salon, and with my hair. This is the first place I’ve ever gone for a haircut where I can go home and make my hair look as good as Nikkia did – she gave me helpful hints as she went along to show me how to re-​create the look from home. She did not pressure me to buy any product, in fact when I called back to find out what she had used on my hair to make it so soft, she told me what it was and where I could get it closer to home… knowing I live 30 miles away.
I now constantly get compliments on my hair, not only from people who know what my hair USED to look like, but from strangers who want to know where I got my highlights and cut done. I don’t dread looking in the mirror and looking for gray hairs coming in, Kia masterfully has foiled my hair so that they are hidden until the next time I see her. I happily drive the 30 miles every 8 weeks, and happily pay full price, to get my hair done with Kia. It’s a treat to hang out at the salon, there is always fun conversation, and everyone there is down to earth and welcoming.

Ummm alll i have to say in AMAZING!!! I’ve been driving all the way from Bellevue to Maple Valley (40 mins) for the past 2 years to go see Tessany at Chocolates Cherries and Blondes. She is the best of the best. Not only do I love my hair and feel beautiful when I Ieave, but she is so sweet and fun to chat with during my processing time.
Highly recommended!!!
