It’s nice to have good options for feeding my family food that isn’t from commercial/industrial sources. Outside of all the locally raised and assorted honey and honey derived products they have local farm raised duck, turkey, and chicken eggs. Compare yolk color, taste, and freshness against anything in the supermarket and you will understand what i am talking about. For $ 5.50 a dozen and no wasting containers,(they re use the egg cartons for raising the bees) you are really getting far more value for your money, in terms of quality, even if they are a little more expensive. If we all choose to support businesses like this more often we will ultimately have more and better choices in our community that provide a better place to live, versus more big box stores and the boringly grey culture they create.

I am super surprised nobody has added or reviewed Bees in the Burbs. My wife and I were on a Sunday drive when we happened upon this gem. It is located in the outskirts of Maple Valley on the East side of Hwy 169. There is a gravel lot and the building is a bit back from the road. Bees in the Burbs is a family owned apiary, honey and beekeeper supply store. As soon as you arrive you can smell the beeswax in the air. Jars of all different special local honey lines the walls. There are many books and supplies for the backyard beekeeper as well as classes for those interested in getting into beekeeping. I would recommend stopping in to anyone traveling on Maple Valley Hwy. It is way cool and the honey is delicious as well as VERY reasonably priced. We are so lucky to have this resource nearby.
