The surf and turf was excellent and the service was good. Very pricey but it was A treat!

Good but WAY overpriced! My daughter and I had a dinner last night. The food was good and the service was great. We couldn’t get over the nagging feeling that we were being ripped off and that we were being huge suckers. We dropped $ 230 for two drinks, two appetizers, two steaks, one family style mac & cheese and one shared dessert. They definitely kiss your ass as far as service goes. And it’s top notch. I don’t mind dropping money on food. But I couldn’t help but feel that there are 100 other places I could have gone in the Twin Cities and spent half as much money and gotten better or equal food. Frankly, both of us probably would have been just as happy at some place like Timberline or Texas Road House and still had enough money left to do it again two or three more times. Or even better, go to Fogo in downtown Minneapolis a couple of times. Oh, well. Now we can say we tried it. We’ve now tried all 4 restaurants in this little corner of Maple Grove. –Daddy Maxx Retro

Food and service was fantastic as usual. Been going there regularly. We love the place but I have to say something about our latest experience. Again the service and food was fantastic. My wife and I shared the Kings mother in law cut prime rib… absolutely awesome. Perfect pepper crust and done to perfection. But we sat in a booth as we always do and the next booth over was occupied by a group of 4 women who must have thought they were the only people there. The booth behind us was occupied by a family with small children aged 6 to 12 and I can say I honestly felt sorry for them. One of the 4 women in the adjacent booth wasn’t really a woman, her language and volume was outrageous. We almost asked management to move us. She was vulgar and rude, every other word out of her mouth was profanity… and this was a Sunday. Ok I admit everyone is different but Pittsburgh needs to keep and eye one this type of situation. The night manager must have walked by several times during this event but nothing was done. this women obviously had issues and needed this type of low life attention but I didn’t expect it here. I think staff and management need to be a little more cognosent of these situations and take action to curb this before it drives away customers looking for a calm adult evening. The overall environment here has always been great but tonight was different. I’ll be back but if this continues maybe it’s time to find an restaurant that supports an environment that better suits adults with half a brain.

A good juicy steak is one of my favorite meals to have, and this steakhouse doesn’t disappoint. The first comment I’d like to make is the revolving doors are extremely drafty… so try your best to get a table away from the doors if you come here in the winter. I had to use my friends jacket to block the draft around my back and legs. The menu is pretty simple, but that makes it easy to choose your meal. When a restaurant has a small menu, that means they usually do those items extremely well. The first course to review was the fried Calamari. Who doesn’t like fried squid, am I right? The serving size was quite large and could easily feed four people. It comes with a very nice dipping sauce and the individual pieces were the perfect size. Some places serve tiny little rings, but not here. Next came the fresh bread. It was super fluffy and warm, and came as a pull-apart loaf with four pieces. The butter melted right in to it. Don’t have more than one though, it will fill you up! For my main meal, I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye. The Ribeye is my favorite cut of steak, super tender and just the right amount of fat to make it extra flavorful. My steak came out perfectly medium rare with just the right amount of sear to bring out that beefy goodness. We also ordered a side of their specialty hash browns. They are cooked with bacon and onions and topped with blue cheese. I found this a bit dry, and could be a meal all on it’s own. It could easily be shared amongst four people. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any more room for desert… I didn’t even get to finish all of my steak! I was super disappointed in myself for leaving that tiny delicious morsel on my plate. I shed a single tear as the waiter took it away… This place a pretty pricey, but very tasty. A perfect place for a nice date or a fancy dinner with the family. Give it a try!

We dined at Pittsburgh Blue on New Year’s Eve, for 3 people our bill was well over $ 300(no alcohol). At the time of dinning our food was good, although the service was incredibly slow(it was NYE though…). My Grandmother and Mother both ordered the large lobster tail, over night my Grandmother became very ill but my Mother did not(I had shared part of my Mother’s lobster and also did not become ill). The next day I ate the lobster leftovers that we had brought home from my Grandma’s plate, not knowing at the time that she had became ill. After eating the lobster I also became ill. I can only deduce that it was my Grandmother’s lobster that made us both ill. I called and spoke with a Manager to let him know of the situation — I was essentially told«you’re the only person who has complained about New Year’s Eve, Sorry… we’ll call you if anyone else has issues». I really would have expected something more than the above comment from the Manager which basically blows off my complaint/concern. As I mentioned, our bill was over $ 100 per person without drinks, the lobster is $ 60 per tail — I expect a much higher caliber of customer service at those rates.

Horrible and expensive. The staff is completely messed up on something, weather alcohol or drugs. For a «high» end steak house, this place is run like a Applebee’s. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Last night my husband and I ordered prime rib sandwiches at the bar. Menu says sliced on a toasted roll; it was neither. The meat was shaved and cold, the bun was nondescript and not toasted. The au jus was straight from the packet at the grocery store, the horseradish mayo was pretty much just mayo. And if you’re a white wine drinker who does not like Chardonnay, would strongly recommend not wasting 8 – 12 dollars on the other few selections. Capital Grille and other upscale restaurants downtown knock the socks off Pittsburgh Blue. Maybe Pittsburgh’s owners have figured out a lot of people in the area aren’t willing to drive to someplace better and are therefore captive to whatever they decide to dish out. I am no longer one of them– if I’m putting down some cash for a meal, I’ll drive rather than feel ripped off at the end of the night.

Great service. Great steak. Prime rib is melt in your mouth. Try the hash browns, which have blue cheese and a really nice crunchy crust.

Mediocre food. Four of us for dinner. The scallops with Hollandaise sauce were bland($ 19 for three scallops), the bacon appetizer — was too fatty — not rendered properly — too much maple syrup. My porterhouse steak was lackluster($ 48), I’ve cooked a better steak at home(from CUB), a friends fillet arrived well done. They made him another, but insisted he put every morsel of meat(that he had cut) back on the plate. We were mainly done, when he got his replacement. A friendly Mexican gal offered to box up my leftovers. Next day, I discovered she only kept the meat — no mushrooms or squash that I had on my plate. For the price, it’s not a value.

I am a regular customer at Pittsburg Blue in Edina… I had a business lunch with a client this week and he was located in that part of town, so I suggested the Pittsburg Blue(Maple Grove). I like the set up. Very similar Black/Red Room. Although the Menu items are very much the same at both locations, I was however informed about some peculiar differences in the menu after placing my order. I love the Pistachio Crusted Walleye. Well, in Edina you get the Walleye served with Limon-dill sauce served on a bead of linguine with a little bit of broccoli. The offering in Maple Grove was Pistachio Crusted Walleye with Limon. Per the server veggies are al-la-cart. I was suppressed. With that in mind, I think the Pittsburg Blue in Edina had the edge for my money.

LOVEPB! They have a classy wine selection, fairly diverse beer selection, classy & quaint ambiance. I always choose to sit around the bar area because I like the ambiance & people watching. Last night we got the Apple Crisp & Key Lime Pie & sat at the bar. EXCELLENT desserts! Addictive desserts! Took key lime home & didn’t last as expected. Come here just for those much less the food entrees, appetizers(Shrimp cocktail always), and even happy hour food menu! Service at the bar last night wasn’t the best & that’s why the 4 out of 5 stars. Slow service!

So Pittsburgh Blue is for sure my favorite steakhouse to go to! The service there is great! They are fast and very nice every time I have been there! It’s a casual-dressy place, so depending on how you feel, you can dress as you please! The place is a cool modern place. You can see the kitchen preparing your food! My favorite has to be the cowboy ribeye! It gets the perfect char and medium is the way I like it and it always is cooked to perfection! The cowboy ribeye is a 22oz so it’s big! Enough room for large parties or small intimate one on one as well. It has a fun atmosphere and food is perfection! Steaks are to die for! I’ve tried some other steakhouses in the area and I always end up back at Pittsburgh blue to get my steak craving satisfied! They have AMAZING scallops as well as the hash browns to the loaded mash potatoes! The sides are ordered separately but are family size to share. If you love steak go try Pittsburgh Blue!

Meat lovers rejoice… there are a few great standouts here. First try the bacon appetizer. For the main course go for the large filet rare. Great cut and cooked properly. The hash browns sounded odd but once they came they were to die for! Asparagus and Mushrooms were good sides as well. Odd note: On some of the spirited drinks like a mojito or sidecar, they serve them in a martini glass. Also like the bit o’ honeys the leave with the check versus standard mints. Great service for our group of 8 on the outside patio.

Mediocre food. The blue cheese burger is good. Was pretty disappointed today when I had the Cobb salad. No imagination, I mean who uses iceberg lettuce anymore? If I paid $ 5 for it, then I’d expect it. But when pay $ 25 for a salad, ice tea, & tip, you can’t help but feel ripped off getting iceberg lettuce and the same chicken you can get from the deli at Target. I could make a way better salad myself. Granted, I don’t have an awesome meat cleaver prop like they do, but as someone who isn’t a chef that can make a better salad than the lazy chefs at Pittsburgh Blue, it makes you wonder. In a word, uninspired. Servers were not a bit vacant. But in the suburbs of Minnesota, you are competing against TGI Fridays, Pittsburgh Blue seems unique.

I’ve been dining at Pitts Blue since it opened over 10 years ago and it’s continued to go downhill The waitstaff has truly lost all professionalism — I think a lot of that has to do with the man agent turnover over the years This past Friday we went for happy hour and a few people in our party ordered the spinach goat cheese salad — there was a huge huge bug in the spinach. Management came over and just said they don’t was the spinach as it comes pre washed. That was it. They offered nothing like a dessert to compensate On top of that the waitress would come over and completely interrupt our conversation — not to ask how things were– but to actually comment off our private conversation Very disappointing– even though this is close to home I’ll gladly drive a few more miles into great areas like the North Loop for better food and service

The garlic bread loaf; too hard crust for my tastes, but delicious, with a soft center The onion rings; huge! Corn chowder; chunky, creamy, delicious Prime rib french dip; melt in your mouth delicious meat, with a perfectly seasoned au jus Key lime pie; SOOO tangy, so delicious! The graham cracker crust is soft, and the servings are generous!

Amazing food with subpar service. I don’t know if I have anything bad to say about my meal from the garlicky rolls to the pistachio crusted walleye and loaded potato and onion ring sides(that I shared with my husband) everything was delicious. I definitely suggest the walleye, it was a huge piece and perfectly cooked. I ended up taking home half of it. The server we had, however, was terrible. She really didnt pay much attention to us throughout the entire meal except when taking our order. We ordered more drinks after the meal and she came back 15 minutes later(without the drinks) to ask if we wanted another drink.

Went there for happy hour last night with a couple friends. Hosts were super attentive and friendly, patio has a great atmosphere. The only thing I have to say is while the food was great, and the server was super friendly and nice, I don’t think she took my allergy as seriously as she should have, I have celiac disease and while she assured me everything was gluten free that I ordered, I’m not sure that it was, since I’ve been up all night with a pretty bad reaction. Other than that, she gave great service. Not sure if I’d go back, just wanted to let people know that if you have a gluten intolerance/celiac disease just be aware that you may have a reaction at this place.

In completing the Maple Grove dinner tour, we decided a nice dinner at PB was in order on Sunday night. No wait at all at 6pm, which, given the NFL playoff games going on, made perfect sense. Dining area is really nice, very quaint and intimate setting. Some of the horseshoe booths would be nice for a smaller group, but, pulling together some tables like they did next to us for a party of 10 also seemed to work out well(I know, why was I paying attention to this right?). Waiter went through the cuts, sizes and options very well. Even answered my questions on marbling/leanness which was refreshing and means he either knew what he was talking about or he’s had his head up a cows ass a time or two. Given I had steak earlier in the day, I went with the crab stuffed jumbo shrimp. Girlfriend opted for one of the waiters recommendations, a signature item, the prime rib french dip. For those unaware, the sides are served table sized. You have starch options and veggies options to choose from, but, both options come big enough to serve a couple of people. From what we seen at tables around us, they looked really good. But, we opted just for the main items. Table bread was damn good. Very very fluffy, lightly buttered and with some sea salt on top. Was just a great a bread that pulled apart wonderfully. Don’t eat too much of this when you stop in, I assure you it’s addicting and you’ll want to. Very short wait for the food, maybe 10 minutes. My dish was amazing. The crab was seared on the bottom perfectly to have a gently, awesome little crunch. It was all served in a lemon, garlic olive oil(you’ll see it on the dish in the pic) that the crab soaked up like a champ and brought tremendous flavor. Shrimp was very good quality and cooked perfectly. Peeled right out of the ends of the tails and was perfectly done with proper snap and not tough or chewy like if it was over cooked. An incredible dish. Very well done. Only gripe is that the proportion was pretty small. For the price, I was thinking maybe 7 prawns? Getting 5 left me still hungry(which thankfully was cured from eating half of my girlfriends FD), and for the price, that shouldn’t happen. The French Dip was one of the better ones we’d ever had. Great amount of beef sliced up, cooked very well(not well done, but well) with a little pink left in the meat. The jus was not overly salty, and didn’t over power the meat. Even the bread(ciabatta roll I’m guessing) was just perfect for the sandwich. The one thing that was odd, no cheese at all. And both of us agreed, a good, somewhat salty cheese would have been perfect for the sandwich to be the best. Service was solid throughout, no complaints what so ever on that regard. Why not 5 stars? For the price to proportion, it just seemed off. I have no issues spending some money on a great meal(or in my cases, multiple dishes at once), and when I choose to go to a place like this, I expect to spend some money. But, I wasn’t thrilled with no standard side items for the dishes and the amount of shrimp I got. Will I head back? Probably not. For my money, there are going to be more options and probably better — more satisfying and filling — options out there. Great flavor though, just not worth the money overall like other high end steakhouses.
