Needed to cancel an order that was shipped to the store and I was transferred to six different people, promised to be called back with a response and it has been a week. I will never shop at this store ever again. The most terrible customer service, and the worst at handling situations like this that just happen more than once?

I get sucked in by the ‘$ 10 off $ 10 or more purchase’ coupons that I seem to receive monthly due to having a JCP credit card. I can usually find something on clearance or under $ 20, so I don’t end up spending much money. However, it often takes a long time to find something worth buying. Most of their men’s brands fit weird, but J. Ferrar makes decent suit coat and pants separates that aren’t old man style. Levi’s jeans are probably what I buy most here, when I am lucky enough to find my size. Word to clothing buyers at stores everywhere, order more 34″ x 34″ and less 36″ x 30″ and other goofball sizes that apparently nobody buys. Shoe selection is awful, so don’t waste your time. The lines are always ungodly long, seemingly no matter the time of day – especially on weekends or the last 2 days before the coupon expiration dates. The cashiers aren’t that bad, but the people that shop here seem to all be extreme couponers or check writers that manage to make each transaction take 10x longer than typical. Frustrating to those like me that try to keep it simple and just want to get the heck out of there and get on with our lives. But it all goes back to those coupon deals. I can’t resist a bargain.

The reason I am giving Penney’s 1 star instead of zero is because of the service. The employees there were nice(and because you can’t give zero stars, apparently). The merchandise we purchased was absolute crap. My son got a shirt and the first day he wore it, it ripped at the seam on the sleeve. In the same purchase, my wife bought a purse and it had a faulty strap. If I wanted to get garage sale quality goods like these… I guess I would shop at a garage sale… in North Minneapolis. Apparently, «Every Day Low Prices» equate to Every Day Sweat Shop Merchandise.
