Though it’s been over a year since my visit to Flourish, I must update my review to note that the owner, Molly, reached out to me through Unilocal after my posting. She was concerned about my experience and offered to talk in person or have me come in for a do-over. Unfortunately, this message was overlooked in my inbox until now and too much time has passed to take her up on this offer. However, I am pleased to know that management is taking their customers’ concerns to heart. Kudos to you Molly and your earnest efforts to improve your business.

I bought an online coupon for Flourish because I regularly get massages to relieve minor back pain and stress. I have been to at least 10 spas around the cities with various Massage Therapists and my 90 minutes with Elizabeth was hands down the most relaxing one I have had(I actually fell asleep at one point which I have never done before). I do agree that it wasn’t easy to find and the massage room could use some improvement. Listing specific directions on their website would help(i.e. a diagram of the complex). Also, I prefer a darkened room for a massage and the attempt to block out the sunlight in the room could be better. There are only blinds on the glass door and an area cutout for the door handle which wasn’t a problem for me but could be concerning for more modest folks, especially if the salon was busy. All in all i was very pleased with Elizabeth and would highly recommend her to anyone.

What a disappointment. Please, do not waste your money, even on discounted Groupon-type deals. Staff very unprofessional and rude, especially the owner. I had an appointment for a facial, and less than an hour before my appointment I received a call from the salon saying that they were cancelling my service. No explanation or apology offered. When I asked why I was being cancelled, the woman very rudely said«because I am leaving». I was so upset that I was planning to call back and ask to speak to the manager, but while doing some research online I discovered that the woman that I spoke to actually was the manager. Wow, and you expect to stay in business with service like that? The spa is a really big dump, if you want to feel like you are getting a facial in the basement of an office building, then this is the place for you. The staff also was having very unprofessional conversations in hearing distance of the customers, discussing how they hate doing groupon/living social promotions, but«if it will get me to Vegas, then I’ll put up with it». I truly hope this place goes out of business soon.

It was very easy to schedule an appointment for a massage, a body wrap and facial, then an ion-foot cleanse — –they called me and emailed me the day prior as a reminder. The spa is a little tough to find, but worth a little searching :). They moved from thier former lower-level space to a larger, main floor spot. Calming décor, privacy curtains, and spacious treatment rooms made me feel comfortable upon walking in. Andrew gave me a great massage, responding well when something wasn’t working for me. Then I went to see Molly for the body wrap and facial duo, neither of which I had tried before. She was very informative, explaining steps as she went and made me feel very comfortable(for standing in front of a stranger naked!). Molly also gave me some ideas of things that I could do at home to keep my skin looking good. Prices were reasonable, and they offer a great«package» deal. I will definitely go back for these services, as well as a few others that I learned about that day. I look forward to my next pounding, wrapping and vaccuuming!

I went to flourish for a 60 minute facial, I have been having acne issues for a couple months. When I called to make the apt the receptionist said their esthetician specializes in acne, so I thought I should try it out. Cari did my facial, she was very knowledgeable in what was causing me to break out. She was super nice and even gave me a free upgrade in the room. Which was a strong exfoliation treatment. After the facial she recommended me some products and she wasn’t pushy on selling me everything. She wrote down everything and told me how and when to use it. My skin feels great and I already have my next apt booked! She gave me $ 15 off just for pre booking. Over all, I loved my service and glad to see what else they have to offer. Small spa, but great experience.

I hate giving small business start ups poor reviews. That said, I went to Flourish last Thursday to use my Living Social deal for a 30 minute facial, 30 minute massage, and 30 minute ion foot bath and left feeling like there was easily some room for improvement. Flourish is located in an office park complex on the basement level. It was a bit difficult to find, even with GPS. Upon walking downstairs, the first sight is a small waiting area and off this a door and window into the office area. The office was a mess – I’m sure they know where everything is and have a system, but to a customer it’s a disorganized eyesore and does not look professional. The worst part about ihis set up is they leave the door open(I presume to call out to new customers since no one actually got up to come out and greet us when we first arrived) and have no other interior waiting area. I found it incredibly difficult to relax between my facial and massage as they 1) told me to put a robe on and wait in the lobby(so people coming and going got to see me sitting around in a robe), and 2) they left the door to their office area open and I got to overhear all the office gossip, boyfriend problems, kid illnesses, etc. Glad they have such a tight knit working relationship, but I didn’t come to hear Maury Pouvich live. The facial and massage rooms were small and barren. Both services were adequate and both therapists were very pleasant and seemed knowledgable. Overall, both the facial and massage were sub par to my other spa experiences – for less money and much better treatment, I’d go to the Aveda Institue over Flourish. The ion foot bath treatment was my least favorite service and by far the tackiest of all. They sat me back in the waiting room, thankfully, I got to put clothes on this time, and then filled a plastic bucket with water in the bathroom, put this metal contraption in the water with my feet, sprinkled in some alloy powder and table salt, and left me for 30 minutes. Personally, the ion purification thing seems like a scam to me, but I was hoping to at least get to sit in a comfy chair and put my feet in a warm bath with jets. Nope, no one came back for 30 minutes, and my warm water was cold after 10 minutes. My feet sat in cold, brown water(supposedly from all the toxins that were being pulled out) for the last 20 minutes before someone finally came with a towel so I could remove my feet. I was cold and crabby after getting to listen to round 2 of gossip central. Spa concept great. Prices ok(less than bigger salons but more than I felt was fair given the rest of the environment). Execution poor. Sorry Flourish, but I’d rather pay a little more to get the pampered spa experience somewhere else.

I was surprised at the reviews and glad I didn’t read them before I went to use my coupon. I didn’t do the ion foot bath b/c I’m pregnant and after the reviews I will probably not go back to use it. However, I had a pregnancy massage by Aubrey and it was hands down the BEST massage I’ve evern had. The facial was just an exfoliate and moisturizing facial and I left very happy. I intend to go back for a massage. The ambiance is very relaxed and I met the owner, but as far as the actual service I was pleased. I can understand a higher expectation, but I didn’t care where it was when I was in pure bliss during my massage.

I used a coupon deal I purchased from one of the many deal sites for a sixty minute facial. The facial was nice except for the extractions. They were the most painful extractions I have ever had in my life, and I have had many facials from many different spas. It felt as if a metal object like a sewing needle or something similar was used. I had HUGE red blotches for at least 24 hours after the facial as well, and I have fairly clear skin to begin with. I agree with the other reviews that the office part of the spa was completely unprofessional in appearance. The office was a mess and the conversations going on in there were not something I wanted nor needed to hear. I was also slightly disturbed that they did the ion foot bath in the waiting area. I don’t want to see other people’s feet wading in a bath of brown water while I’m waiting for my service. I won’t be going back.

Don’t bother buying discount coupons as they wont honor more than one per person EVER. I purchased two and they don’t say for new customers only, but when I made an appointment for my second they said I couldn’t use it. My first was to have a 90 minute facial, the actual facial with undress redress time was more like 60 minutes total. The facial was OK. Would I drive this far out for another at regular price probably not and after my recent experience trying to use the second certificate I would say no.

I went in for a facial because I got an online coupon. I wasn’t too thrilled with the location because it’s in a office park with business offices upstairs and the salon downstairs. It felt as if it was cheaply decorated and just blah. I didn’t feel like the staff was friendly or helpful at all in answering my skin questions, but I did really enjoy the facial and thought it was really great for my skin. They used several masks that really helped even and tone the skin. I don’t think I’ll go back because without the coupons, it’s overpriced and I didn’t love the location.

My first experience at Flourish was really positive. I had purchased a discounted package from the internet, so I was there for a body wrap, a massage and a facial. I was greeted when I walked in and filled out the necessary information for a first time visitor. I was then taken to the first room, where I had the body wrap done. The body wrap was a new experience for me. It consists of having spacial toxin removing lotion rubbed on your skin and then you are wrapped in industrial saran wrap, then you lay on the warm massage table for an hour. As much as I loved having a nice quiet hour to myself, listening to the ocean(sound machine), I got a little bored. I was happy when the gal came back and cut the saran wrap for me so I could escape. The procedure claims that having this done makes you lose inches, so unless that happens dramatically for me, I probably won’t be doing it again. Next was the massage and that was really great. I tend to have a lot of tight muscles and knots, so it was much needed. The massage therapist was very thorough and did a nice job. Last was the facial. I love having these because I have wicked dry skin on my face. I liked the gal who did this service, she had a quirky sense of humor, like me. But I could have gotten along without so much of the product in my mouth. Other than that, it was really enjoyable. Overall, I had an extremely pleasant experience there and I’d definitely make the drive over there to do more. The ladies are very friendly and they use quality products and I’m pretty darn pleased.
