Wonderful dinner, drinks and apps tonight!!! The shrimp stuffed avocado is to die for! Don’t forget to pick your favorite wine/cocktail!(Mine is Chard and hubby likes the old fashion!) then we dove into a cup of chowder to share, yum! We finished off the night with the amazing True Cod served over the creamy polenta then topped with bay shrimp! We will definitely be back! Thank you for a memorable meal!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner after passing the place for a few years. Wish I had gone in sooner. The hospitality was spot on. The food was excellent. Service very good. Small, intimate place with a cozy feel. We’ll be recommending this place to others.

Delicious meals and delightful setting. Owner rotates her menu based on available ingredients and what she is in the mood to eat! We started with an amazing Rosemary pear chutney and goat cheese. With prawns and linguine and pork chop with brie and roasted dates for entrées. Fantastic!

My 27 yr old son and I stayed one evening in Manzanita. We went for Dinner here. Food fabulous-oysters, cod, steak… perfectly done with lovely presentation! A delightful ambience and such kind, friendly staff! We travel/eat out often… such a delight and you shouldn’t miss this one! Franko and Beth

What a great night and lovely spot! We planned poorly and didn’t make a reservation, but they were sweet enough to fit us in.(Don’t make the same mistake we did… You might not be so lucky!) I had the pork chop special, topped with Brie crumbles and fig and topped with a wonderful sauce, and my husband had the surf and turf. Everything was done to perfection and the service was excellent. I especially loved the rosemary potatoes… subtly flavored… We’re so happy to have discovered this place and will definitely be back!

Overpriced, portions very small. My friend had the veggie plate for dinner. There was about a quarter cup of rice and an inadequate serving of vegetables for such a high price of $ 20. My avocado and hummus appetizer was only half of a small avocado. For watermelon feta salad one expects big juicy chunks of watermelon and salty chunks of feta. I was served flecks of watermelon and specks of feta but, hey, plenty of lettuce. Ugh. Very disappointing. On the plus side our server tried hard and took our complaint about serving size with graciousness.

As a new resident to Manzanita Oregon we were excited to dine here. Made a reservation for 9⁄1 our anniversary. Arrived and were told they had no record of reservation. Absolutely positive I talked to a guy there who had a very pretentious way of pronouncing the name of the place when I made red. They said we can only go by what’s on our handwritten sheet. No apology for or dismay just can’t accommodate you. Will never be back with friends and family during slow winter season because of your uncaring attitude. Get it together or your going to fail

My husband and I agree that our dinner here was the best meal we ate on our weeklong roadtrip. The restaurant is small and there are only two servers, so reservations are required. But it was so worth it for us, as the food was amazing! The salad dressing(I think homemade) and spices on our seafood were perfect. We will definitely be back!

Loved everything about this place. My husband and I arrived late(I know we hate being those people and working in the industry before we know it’s the worst) We were reassured by a young man(sorry forgot your name) that it was no problem if we stayed. First and for most THANKYOU! We had been driving for about 6 hours from Washington and were starving! We ordered a few appetizers: the stuffed avocado, half order of oysters and the pear goat cheese. It was all great, my favorite was the goat cheese. For our entrees I had the halibut cheeks and my husband had the surf and turf. Both from the specials list and both blew our minds. I’ll quote my husband«the halibut cheeks might be the best fish I’ve ever had» the fish was light and fresh and just perfect. Last but not least we had a peach/blueberry cobbler and the chocolate cake for dessert. At this point I was so full but couldn’t stop eating so that should tell you how dessert went. Again thank you for the great customer service and amazing food. You’ve helped in making this town near and dear to our hearts.

I can’t say how the food was as they were never able to honor my reservation. I made one they said they couldn’t seat us because they were over booked, she was quite rude on the phone. Nevertheless, I made a reservation for the next night, called same day to confirm then 40min before my reservation they again said they could not accommodate my party of 5. Too much work and attitude– forget it!

Booked through Opentable. Arrived 5 minutes early. We’re rudely told we could wait outside. We were never asked for the name on the reservation. We noticed that our table was very sticky. It was clean but but needed a good refinishing. A good wine list to compliment the menu. The food was good but not great. The sole was overcooked. The sauce had no taste and added nothing to the dish. The server was good as was the service.

What a lovely experience. Not just delicious, hot, fresh food, but excellent service, quiet but not pretentious atmosphere. Loved it. Order the bruschetta as an appetizer – what a burst of flavor!

Great place! Super cozy spot with a great outdoor seating area too. Food is exceptional! Love the fact that the gluten-free options are easily marked on the menu.

As a Neah-Kah-Nie High grad, obviously love the name. Then, there’s the food and the service, both of which are great. Good drinks, great seafood and apps. Go NKN!

$ 5 Happy Hour Tequila Sunset was excellent. Fish tasted fresh. Fries were very good, you get an ample portion as a side order. The coconut prawns were better than expected. The Clam Chowder was a miss. I didn’t order it, but the shrimp in avocado looked delish. Patio seating was just right on a sunny day. Fish and Chips took a very long time, everything else about average.

When you go to the Bistro, you will walk away stuffed and know you just made some new friends. Owner/Chef is a huge Foodie and it shows. The restaurant and kitchen are small, so I highly recommend reservations for the best VIP experience. The menu is quite diverse with appetizers, soups, salads, 7 – 10 entrees plus 2 – 3 nightly specials. Think high-end Bistro fare, including a burger or steak for the carnivores. The halibut cheeks are amazing! However, they are seasonal, so if they are a special that night, do not hesitate to order them! The chicken fettuccine is consistently full of flavor. All very comforting! Call for hours. They recently started a 3−5pm Happy Hour with small and medium plates, definitely worth checking out!

Friendly, good humored service. Oyster shooters were good. I had the Sole with Hollandaise and it was fantastic. Families meals were also good. They had a few signature cocktails, of which I had 2 and liked them both,(the modified manhattan was great) If I go back to manzanita, I would consider stopping there.

From the start, our experience was poor. We were greeted by a smell that was somewhere between wet dog and mushrooms. Next we were seated by a moderately friendly server in a nearly empty restaurant. We ordered food and wine. Both the appetizer and entrees were ‘ok’ flavor wise, but preparation and presentation were definitely done by someone with no culinary training. The wine on their list was clearly from the mini mart from down the street. The bill for this evening of mediocrity was on par with some of the nicer restaurants in Portland. Save some money. Walk down the street to the Little Apple Grocery. Buy dinner from the deli counter. It will taste better, have similar presentation, and cost ¼ the price.

Our experience at The Bistro included: –limited menu –limited hours open –bland Mac and cheese –soggy pan fries oysters –dry fried potatoes –average fish and chips –sparse shrimp on the salad –great feta and flatbread appetizer, although small –overpriced menu items I think that the bistro makes very good attempts at being a nice establishment. However, the food was just so-so without much seasoning. I don’t think we will go there again. Amp up your menu and we will think about returning. :)
