I had a chicken tortilla soup plus a chicken fajita burrito. It was all very good along with very fresh salsa and chips. Very tasty lunch. Waitress was very nice as well. I will definitely return.

Ate at Grub Hut with my brother and sister-in-law for the first time. The brisket was excellent. Terrific food, reasonable prices, great service. I live in the area, and my bro and s-i-l are moving nearby, so we will definitely be back.

One of our new favorite local places! I had the pulled chicken sandwich with the side of plantains and corn bread. The plantains were my favorite thing, but everything was good. My wife really liked her chicken fajitas. The black bean soup and complimentary salsa were also really good. As a bonus, everyone there was really nice and our server was attentive without being annoying.

I’m usually at Grub Hut about once a month/every other month and always on a Monday(my guy friends are all about the All You Can Eat ribs!). The staff is pretty on top of their stuff and the timing is usually quick to get your orders and food. I’ve only ever ordered BBQ and have yet to venture into their Mexican menu items. It’s not«OMG» southern bbq, but it’s very good for the east coast/tristate area. The redder of their 2BBQ sauces is also pretty delicious. You should definitely try the«Almost Boneless» appetizer-it’s a big plate of burnt ends. YUM! FYI: it’s BYOB, so bring some cold beer/wine to have with your meal!

Excellent Mexican and Bbq restaurant. The service was great, the portions were huge and the prices were very reasonable. You can sign up for a free membership card and get a discount after a few meals.

Awards galore for this local BBQ restaurant featuring a variety of styles to suit all tastes. Rubs, glazed, wet. Daily specials are available as well as catering. The black bean soup, fried chicken(for catering only), ribs, mole sauce, house made sweet and smokey sauces are all standouts.

Wow this place was definitely not a place I will go back to. I ordered chicken and ribs and was extremely disappointed with portion size and the quality for price. The chicken was just a thigh, the ribs were dry overcooked and hardly any meat on them. The loco fries were cold and dry as if they were cooked a while before serving them. My buddies platter the brisket was dry and crunchy and small piece of chicken. We didn’t complain since we were extremely hungry and just ate it anyways. And this was all on a Friday night at like 7pm. Extremely disappointed after hearing and reading others experiences.

The Grub Hut was a very fun an accidental discovery, I travel a lot for work and rarely get to eat really good food on the road that tastes Ike home cooking! I would suggest this to anyone!

I live in Manville and eat at the Grub Hut probably once or twice a month. Grub Hut is consistently delicious and serves a wide range of BBQ and Mexican food. I also like this place because you can share a meal because the portions are so huge. My husband and I usually share the pithead meal, which comes with 4 meats and 2 sides. The BBQ brisket, ribs, french fries, and plantains are must tries at the Grub Hut. The facility could use a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint inside. However, the food will never disappoint!

Best fish tacos east of Tulum! If it hasn’t been featured already, this place should be in Diners & Dives… No frills atmosphere just great homemade, slow-cooked BBQ and Mexican with fresh ingredients. No greasy, melted cheese, rather queso crumbles and fresh greens adorn the dishes. I love the paper-thinly sliced fresh jalapeños that add the perfect kick. Love this place.

We just had early dinner at Grub Hut first time. My husband had Ahi Tuna Taco and I had«make your own combo»: Chicken Burritos and Veggie Enchiladas. Both dishes were amazing. Also I was impressed simple beans were so tasty. They are the best Mexican food around here. I’m glad we tried this restaurant.

This place is my heaven on earth. Real deal smoked Q and amazing Mexican food. You need to go here if you like either(or both). I need to check out this place more and more. The combo platters of bbq and Mexican are delicious. They even combine the 2 to make crossover dishes like Texas brisket fajitas! B My only complaints are 1) wish they had sliced brisket and 2) they sold the bbq by weight(like more typical bbq joints).

My girlfriend and I got takeout from this place one time, and we’ll probably never go here again. I was really hoping this place would be great because there aren’t many barbecue joints in our area. but it was just so disappointing. We got the 3 meat combo – pulled pork, brisket, and sausage link. The meats left a lot to be desired. I tried eating the meats without any barbecue sauce, but I gave up within a few bites. It just tasted so bland. I also felt like the pulled pork and brisket somehow had inconsistent quality among themselves. Some bites tasted okay. Other bites were very tough and impossible to chew. completely inedible. The sausage link was good, but the portion for this was smaller than the other two meats. We ordered the loco fries and the corn bread as our two sides. The loco fries were decent, and they gave us a lot of it. It was a struggle to finish, but I guess it was the most enjoyable part of the meal. The peppers that came with the fries were pretty unique, so I did enjoy that as well. The corn bread was nothing special, and the portion was too small. It came with butter, but they decided to put it inside of the same container as our hot meats and fries. Did they not think anything was wrong with this before closing the lid? Obviously, the butter was mostly melted by the time we started eating. I feel like this is so basic, and I was pretty surprised that they didn’t realize this would happen. either that, or they just didn’t care. The portions were a little disappointing overall for the price. We basically got as much meat as we did fries. The food is really overpriced, and I’m sure the owners are aware of this. They can probably get away with charging that much because there is practically no competition for barbecue in the area. I haven’t tried any of the Mexican food from this place, so maybe they’re better at making that.

My fiancé and I have been coming here for years. We come at least twice a month. Love everything they have here. It’s byob so that’s always great. Usually don’t have to wait long for a table. Food comes out very quickly. I love the salsa and chips. My favorite thing is the black bean cheese quesadilla !

I stopped here after doing some Christmas shopping not far away. I have heard of the place from friends who come often and like it. I really want to give them more stars but I am taking off for getting smoked out. There is a smoker which they use to smoke meats and when they opened it, the whole place filled with smoke. It just wasnt ventilated properly and you could see the smoke cloud near the ceiling. My clothes smell like smoke. If it was not for the smoke it would have been a solid 3 star, maybe even 4 star meal. Upon entering I was greeted with a friendly smile and promptly brought chips and salsa. The salsa was excellent. I went with a lunch size chicken enchilada dish. 2 enchiladas came out with rice and beans. The chicken was not dried out and seasoned perfectly. The rice and beans were what I expected. I did not leave hungry. There was more than enough food for me. The service was good the waittress was quick to tell my drink when she saw it was low.

The idea of American BBQ and Mexican fare works perfectly here and trumps what I think of Tex-Mex. The BBQ is not a joke coming from a former KC and American Royal attendee. The Mexican food is also authentic. Sure it’s a small place, it is not cheap, and they get very busy but their food is simply a bargain for the quality and taste. You want cheap food then just click on the Taco Bell ad on Unilocal and but don’t be mad when your ass is stuck on the throne the next day. Order the loco fries and sweet plantains. The homemade salsa is excellent and free. The pulled pork and brisket are delicious as well. I’ve not tried everything as I can’t afford to keep my waistline and eat here often.

Absolutely love this place! Their salsa is delicious and fresh. They make it every day so sometimes it has more kick to it than other times but ALWAYS flavorful! I used to order their enchiladas a lot and they were always good and gave you the option of what sauce to have(rojo, verde, and I believe mild) you can also pick what type of meat you like. I highly recommend the chorizo for something different than your standard chicken and beef. In the last year I have usually order the BBQ Platter usually with the pulled chicken and pulled brisket. It’s a hit or miss with this though. Sometimes their chicken and brisket can be a bit dry which is a little disappointing but nonetheless still tasty. When it’s tender and juicy it’s amazing and their BBQ sauce is excellent! I always get the plantains which are cooked perfectly. Everyone that works there is very friendly. It’s a small place but makes you feel comfortable. It is BYOB and beer always goes great with some Mexican/BBQ food. Have been coming here for years and my husband and I love this place and I’m extremely picky about Mexican food. They also send out coupons in those value packs that come in the mail that’s a bonus anytime you can save any money :)

The aroma of smoking meats hit us as soon as we walked in the door. Immediately thereafter came a cheerful welcome and we were seated by a friendly and attentive server. The menu had an intriguing range to it – Texan BBQ, Mexican/Latin, plus pub-grub favorites — certain to settle disputes among party members trying to decide on where to go, yet tempting enough to make one’s own final menu choice a challenging one. I went with a salad topped with still-steaming pulled pork. The salad was a size able portion with a number of well-prepared veggies — no lazy pre-made bag job. And the pork, tender and smoky, really made a meal out of it. The chili lime salad dressing was clearly homemade and delicious. I also ordered a side of sweet potato salad, which made a refreshing counterpoint, especially with the flavor of dill mingling with the sweetness. My husband couldn’t help himself and ordered a half rack of ribs with black beans and cornbread sides. Again, the mouth-watering smokiness permeated the meat — one was even inclined to simply suck on the bones as the meat fell off of them. But the meat was tender and plentiful, with a nice bark and a little bit of flavorful char, which the table sauces complemented well. My brother-in-law went with the brisket empanadas — possibly the most appropriately representative meal of the lot. Flaky pastry and flavorful meat did not last long on his plate. As with most buildings in Manville, the exterior is unassuming. But one step inside and you know you’re in for something special. It’s a great place to go after the movies(or before, if you think you can stay awake).
