R & M Appliance and Repair Service

Recently called this business two days in a row and never received a call back. Are they still in business? Seems like they are not :/

Our dryer had no heat. We were referred to R&M, dryer was still under warranty. He called us with an ETA, which he kept. He then proceeded to troubleshoot our dryer. After eliminating the most probable causes, he then had it down to a board, but wanting to make sure it was that board. He started looking at schematic that came with the dryer and took some readings, finding that board was not the issue. It ended up being a component on the motor. So we were up and running the next day, since motor had to be ordered. Since he was thorough with his troubleshooting it saved us some down time. We will be using him if we have any other appliance issues.

Our dryer broke down on Friday morning. We were sure we would be without it for the weekend. We called an appliance store, who recommended R & M. We called them, Ray called back within an hour, and was there that day He was neat, knowledgeable, friendly, and fast. The bill was well within reason. Five stars are not enough.

Had a 13 year old Kenmore washing machine that wouldn’t drain/​spin. Left a message with R&M, got a call back in 10 mins. Ray was able to come to my house within an hour, fixed it in about 30 mins. Service fee of coming to the house went towards my total bill. Happy with the price charged. Nice, friendly people.

I ran into an issue with my washer not spinning so luckily stumbled upon R&M online and I gave them a call and left a message. Ray got back to me really quickly and we set up an appointment for Saturday. He was able to fix it and offered a lot of advice and knowledge. He was really friendly and fixed up my washer in no time. I’ll definitely call R&M again when I’m in a jam.

Called R&M for our LG refrigerator on a Sunday afternoon. Our refrigerator wouldnt turn on. Figured they’d be closed on a Sunday, but left a voice message. They called back first thing Monday morning, mentioning they do not work on LG Refrigerators anymore. Also, they were kind enough to suggest other local companies/​services whom could assist with our LG issue. If our other, non-​LG appliances were to have issues, I will definitely be giving R&M a call. Will suggest to others because of their customer service in general.

My GE Side by Side refrigerator/​freezer wasn’t cooling properly. I called R & M on a Friday morning and received a callback within minutes. I hadn’t heard of the company before and am fairly new to the area. I hate cold calling repair guys, was leery of repair ads on Craigslist, and knew nobody who could recommend anyone reputable. I searched reviews on Unilocal and read nothing but positive comments about R & M, so had to give them a shot.
Ray asked a few simple questions over the phone to narrow down the problem. He ruled out larger issues and broke it down to 4 potential problems, along with an estimate of what each might cost. I asked about payments that he accepts. He responded «cash or check». It’s nice to have options (i.e. I didn’t have to run to the ATM).
Ray came over that same afternoon. He was personal, professional, and patient with my numerous questions. Perhaps he should have received a higher wage for providing an education on the workings of a refrigerator. He showed me how he ruled out the other issues and luckily, he just needed to replace the heating element in the self-​defrost system. With that not working properly, frost built up on the coils which caused poor air flow. No air flow = no cooling. I learned a lot and it was really interesting! My appliance was fixed the same day and the cost was very reasonable! Thank you Ray! I’m happy to have found your company and will be recommending R & M if I know of anyone who needs appliances repaired.

When I have ever needed appliances fixed Ray comes out quickly and he is very good. His prices are great and so is his service.

I would give Ray more than 5 stars if I could!!! He is the best. I have been using his services for years. My family and friends now use him also. I love that I can refer him to our customers here at Greer Family Plumbing, sometimes it’s not the plumbing… but an appliance issue. Thanks again Ray!!!

My washing machine was on the fritz and kept coming up with some «F1» code. Slowly, but surely, it got to the point where we couldn’t even complete a load of laundry without this code coming up. Frustrated, I decided to call up my mom who has worked in the appliance industry for over 30 years. She immediately gave me Ray’s number from R & M Appliance & Repair Service.
One quick call and we had a time set for him to come out. He gave me a call the morning of to give me a window of time in which he’d stop by. He arrived within the window that he gave us and was able to diagnose the problem very quickly. He was very knowledgeable, and even gave me the backstory on why these units were having the issues that we were dealing with. The entire time he was very professional and my daughter even had fun watching him while he worked his magic. Not only did he replace the board on the washer, but he called in to Whirlpool so that it would be 100% covered by them (it’s a faulty board that they’re aware of, but because it doesn’t pose a safety threat there’s no recall).
He was there for about 30 minutes and by the time he was done I was as happy as a clothes-​washing clam. Ray was incredibly nice and very professional. I’ve honestly never dealt with a nicer repair guy before.
I’d highly recommend him to anyone who’s having appliance issues. This guy is awesome!
