I don’t always find myself in Manteca, but when I do, I stop here every few months. Amazing wines, free tasting, and INCREDIBLE prices on cases. I had no idea that Manteca had such great wine until I stopped here with my dad en route to my grandfather’s house a couple of years ago. Last month I got a case of Noble Vines 667 Pinot Noir that I have to ration because it’s so good. I go there and stock up on wine because you can’t get quality at the prices they offer anywhere else. It’s a very casual atmosphere inside and they have excellent costumer service. I joined their wine club and am eagerly anticipating my first pick up! A great excuse to visit Grandpa! :D

So welcoming… today I tried the red wines, last time I was here, tried the whites. Complementary 6 tastings, you can’t beat it. I’m from the east coast and I’ve never had complementary tastings(only if you buy a bottle). This place does not pressure you to buy any of their wines and will let you try other wines they have not on their list. Travel nurse visiting so had to try the local winery, definitely check this place out, you won’t be disappointed, and like me, you may buy a bottle or two.

So welcoming!!! They had complementary tasting for 6 wines. They had five or six whites and reds to choose from. The people working there were knowledgeable and polite. All of the wines to taste you can buy, even chilled, are reasonably priced. Overall great place.

Love this place! Love the people, the wine, the gift shop… everything! Been a member for a couple of yrs. The only compliant I have is they discontinued the Sequin sheer white wine and the peach champagne. We had the raspberry champagne for my daughter’s wedding.

I would not visit this tasting room again. We came with high hopes, as they carry several wines we like very much, but left demoralized by the poor service we recieved. I got the impression that the three employees behind the tasting counter took one look at us and decided that we weren’t going to purchase anything, and then proceeded to come as close to ignoring us as possible for the duration of our tasting, despite the fact that there was only one other customer. Wine was sullenly and hastily poured into our glasses without even an announcement of what it was, and any questions we asked along those lines, such as «What is this we’re tasting?» was treated as a mild imposition. A bad experience.

We received an email from our nephew telling us about the cases of wine currently on sale. We called for hours and directions. We were told they are open from 9 – 5:30 and gave specific directions off Hwy 99 due to road construction. My husband asked if the sale wine by the case were still available. The gentleman on the phone said yes, come on in. We called our friends who were also interested and we went on Sunday, arriving at 4:45. When we walked in, we weren’t greeted kindly with a «Welcome» but instead the two people behind the bar said«We’re Closed, the bar closed at 4:30». We stated that we called and were told they were open until 5:30,(plus Google hours are posted 9 – 5:30). We explained that we came from Modesto and were interested in buying the cases of sale wine. They said they would sell us wine, however, we stated we didn’t want to commit to buying the cases of wine unless we could have a taste. They said we closed the bar at 4:30. As a business owner myself, I would never treat or allow my employees to treat customers the way these two employees spoke to us. Such a disappointing experience and horrible customer service. Delicato winery lost out on our business and any referral. We went anticipating purchasing six cases of red and six cases of white(or more) for our daughters upcoming wedding reception. Our friends who went with us were also interested in making a purchase. We won’t go back after being turned away so rudely!!!

My fiancée loved this place, well I mean I think she was still my fiancée at the time that is. Anyways, the wine tasting here really made her smile. Great deal too, two thumbs up for that., whew. How can ya beat free wine tasting? HUH? huh? I bought a couple bottles here. They were gone in a couple days. I enjoyed them highly. I think she was satisfied. Hell I loved this place, great smell, great décor, the moment I walked in here it was like mmmmmmmmm YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! The gift shop is lovely and set up so perfectly. This definitely was a nice treat. Almost felt like I was at the spa because it was soo refreshing and relaxing. I know my mouth definitely felt like it was at the spa. mmm

Delicato is an amazing winery. Have been in the wine club off and on for years and just recently re-joined. The wine is great at the price point and they use grapes harvested from all over, not just Manteca. Free tasting 7 days a week and great case deals. This place is my safe haven from the lack of activities Manteca has to offer.

Visited this winery for a baby shower and didn’t have a wine tasting experience however, I still enjoyed myself. The shower was held in their event room which is in the back of the tasting room with a small area for shopping set between the two. My review is for the store located in the winery and the event room we celebrated in. The shop had a good selection of gifts ranging from wine(duh) to jewelry to house décor to large photo prints as well as lots of little nick-nack shtuff. My favorite items were the soaps, lotions, lip glosses and lip sticks made from none other then the grapes in their vineyard! Pretty snazzy! Smelled and tasted super yummy :) It looked as though there were plenty of different wines to buy as well as sample(see pix) and judging by the enormous wall of different bottles, anything your looking for, you can most likely find here. To all you wine-o’s who haven’t ventured this way… take a drive, get some wine and get some gifts while your at it. If your feeling adventurous, they even have a wine making section where you can buy all the essentials to make a tasty batch right under your own roof! Sweet!

I stopped in here because the wife has some family down the street and thought it would be a good way to kill 45 mins. It was. I will make the disclaimer that I am not a wine connoisseur, but I do drink wine at least twice a week. With that said, I was not overwhelmed by the wine I tasted here. I chose to do the red tasting that consisted of 6 reds in the Delicato family of wines. Out of the 6 of them, only 2 I found remarkable. The rest seemed to be flat with nothing notable at all about them. My wife did a split tasting with 2 whites and 4 reds. She enjoyed the two whites. The staff was VERY friendly and knowledgable about not only Delicato, but wine in general. This was helpful. Apparently Delicato is one of the bigger privately owned wineries in the world, with global brands. The winery that we visited apparently only made chardonnay wines. The inside was nice, with a long bar and plenty of room. They had a bunch of other stuff that seemed kinda out of place in a winery, like clothing and jewelry etc for sale. Seemed cheesy. Either way, that is not your focus so it was not a deal breaker. In closing, this place is good to visit if you are in the area. I would not necessarily go far out of my way to specifically go again, but that should not stop you from going and seeing what you like there. The tasting is complimentary. At the end of the day, we purchased 3 bottles of wine(one as a gift) and the wine was inexpensive.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been here(probably 2 or 3 years). My husband’s aunt and uncle took us here as a trip for my husband’s birthday. While it’s not a winery, it’s a great place to try a variety of different wines and they usually have some really good case sales going one! When I visited, I ended up with half a case of a Gewürztraminer, a Elvis Riesling, Gnarly Head Zin, peach sparkling wine, and an almond sparkling wine. You get a few tastings for free, but then you can also try some others I believe for a small fee. Definitely a good place to go especially if you aren’t sure what types of wine you like!

The sparkling wines, in raspberry, peach, almond and dry, are subtle and delicious. The flavored sparklers aren’t too sweet or too dry. In fact, they are perfect for sipping. I’m planning to pair mine with dessert(the raspberry) and cinnamon waffles with peach preserves(peach). I am also a big fan of their late harvest Viognier.

I gave Delicato 4 stars for a few reasons. 1. Free wine tasting –I’m so tired of locations that charge for the wine tasting. typically your going to buy enough wine after the tasting to cover the cost of the free tasting. 2.The atmosphere is really 3 stars. the tasting room has no stools-chairs etc. The people behind the bar don’t attempt to teach or give you at information about the wine etc. they need new servers. 3.Just for the wine room being in Manteca, I’m giving it an extra star ;) proximity to my house. WHO wants to drive to Lodi or Napa all of the time? Not me… lol Tip: they close early on the weekdays like 5:30 pm., don’t make a wasted trip. Try The Charonge love it

Gigantic tasting room with lots of «tsatskes»(gifts). Friendly. Some good wine. We went there because we had a Groupon for a beekeeping demo and wine tasting. It was enjoyable.

I love this place. I’ve been a wine club member for years now. It’s a great excuse to make the drive out to Manteca(not to mention Fagundes Meats). We’ve attended several Wine Club functions and have always had the best of times. If you are looking for a very good, affordable wines, this is the place. The staff at the tasting room are awesome. They greet me like I am family, and I mean that in a good way. Elizabeth is my favorite, always so friendly. I return to this winery at least once a month and I probably will for a very long time.

This is a business that gives back to the community. We attended a fundraising event here on Saturday night, for the Little Manila Foundation. Not only was the event a raging success, but Delicato donated the whole beautiful tasting room facility for the evening, as well as all the wine for this event for perhaps 240 people, and several staff, all for free. This is the 7th year they have done this. Thank you Delicato. May your business live long and prosper. We are so grateful.

The première(also only) Manteca winery. Great ambiance, perfect for a fundraiser. Free samples of 5 or 6 wines(i can’t remember exactly). But the wines, overall, were lackluster. This place used to be known as Delicato(and still is), but for the past year you’d know them from their freeway signs advertising Gnarly Head wine. Also, they have a new label that looks like it sells at Target. If you don’t know much about wine, this is a great place to get a free tasting and have fun with friends/family. If you like wine, I don’t recommend going here. It’s pedestrian and simple tasting.

I conned my mother into taking a trip out to Modesto with me to buy some Cameron Hughes wine at Costco(different lots in different stores! must have them all!), and on the way out there on highway 99, I spotted this tasting room. I drove by, but on the way back, already excited by my new CH acquisitions, I had to stop. I had to! In spite of the protests of my mother, I HADTO! Had a little trouble finding it, as I wasn’t smart enough to understand what the billboard meant by «cross the tracks and turn left.» But I DID find it! I had not, to the best of my knowledge, heard of Delicato Vineyards before, so I was surprised to enter the tasting room and find Gnarly Head, Twisted, Brazin, Irony, and 337 wines(as I have heard of all of them and tried many, Gnarly Head Old Vine Zin being, at $ 10 a pop and surprisingly delicious, what I would choose as my House Zin, were I to have a House Zin), as well as wines labeled Delicato and Loredona, neither of which I had heard of. Turns out that all of these labels are from the DFV family of wines, so they’re all the same company, more or less. You’re allowed to choose up to 6 wines to try(not that they seem to really keep track) – and here’s the important part: NOTASTINGFEE! This is where Delicato’s tasting room gets 4 stars, as I wasn’t blown away by the wines I tried. The Fog Head Chardonnay was pretty nice, but I’ve certainly had better $ 20 bottles of Chardonnay. My mother tried the Gnarly Head Chard; it’s definitely nothing to write home about. The 337 Cabernet Sauvignon was nice, but didn’t awe me. Tried a nice Syrah(Fog Head? not sure) and the Brazin Zin, which was pleasant enough but, frankly, didn’t strike me as any more inspiring than the(cheaper) Gnarly Head. What I did discover, however, was Delicato’s Champagne-styled sparkly wines, including the Almondine, which has a nice marzipan smell and a soft, sweet flavor. And was only $ 8! Booyah! And, also, the wine offerings in the tasting room covered all facets of wine life: sparklers to Reislings to Twisted Zin(which is apparently lighter) all the way to big, bold Cabs and Syrahs. I am not often in or around Manteca, but next time I’m close by, I’ll definitely stop here again for free wine samples… and maybe another cheap bottle or two.
