I emailed the cruisers car wash place on Lathrop Rd in Manteca CA about a month ago, because the smell of the wash was a dirty moldy sponge that was left out to rot and have that horrible moldy smell. They said they did perform a repair on it and thanked me for telling them and added they do use the recycled water and that does contribute to the smell. Well, I went back about a week later and it was so much better. Now I go today 10/11/2015, and the smell is back big time. I told the young lady who took my ticket that she needs to inform management of this smell and she said it’s the recycled water. I told her it should not smell this bad. And while I sit here at another car wash off cottage and Yosemite, typing this, my car smells so bad, I have to get out of my car and stand next to it. Recycle water is great, but uneducated on what you need to do to treat the recycled water is critical, and important to note, if your cutting expenses it will show in your lower than expected profits. The water should not smell this bad and then that smell is left all over my car inside and out. Just can’t go back, regular maintenance is clearly not a priority for this place.

I was a regular customer of this gas station. That was until I was alienated by the fact that they wouldn’t turn on the free air unless I fueled first. I had just filled up at Costco so I couldn’t buy anymore. Like I said I was a regular customer. And fueled and shopped there many times a week. I could have paid the $ 1.00 for air. But I was the principal of the thing! I had bought so much gas there in the past. They had the choice to turn the air on or not… And I have the choice to not give them anymore of my money! The attendant said that she was just recently yelled at by the owner, for providing free air to non fueling customers! So… she was steadfast on not turning the air pump on for me! The owner doesn’t sound like a nice person, if he’s yelling at his staff for being accommodating to his customers! I feel sorry for his employees! If he yells at them for something like this… I can only imagine how badly him treats them in other circumstances! The state requires him to provide free air to fueling customers. But they can’t force him to offer it as a free courtesy. It might be a good thing to do though! Small things like that, can be good for business! He’s worried about $ 1.00. And now it’s gunna cost him all of my business!

I wasn’t sure where to fill the tank. This place popped up, but no Valero’s. I pulled into Valero’s anyway – and apparently, it was both. Confusing, but real. The problem I often have is that the filling station doesn’t have diesel fuel. That’s the green handle on the pump – the handle you never use. The price was okay, and I’m adjusting to California pricing again, having found some really cheap prices in Oklahoma City and New Jersey. They had a little advertisement playing as I was filling the tank, and apparently, they have a rewards card of some sort. Once I have my address, I’m sure I’ll be signing up for this and other rewards cards. The pump worked well and it gave me a receipt, which was also good. Getting in and out of the lot was a bit dangerous as it is narrow and there is a drive-thru for McDonald’s.

Continuing my journey home, I again need fuel. But do I stop in the high priced stations next to the highway? No. I head away from the highway in search of a station with lower prices and BINGO, I find Cruisers! Yeah, yeah it’s 3 miles off the highway, but when the price is 26 cents a gallon LESS, it’s worth it! Valero gas , a convenience store and McDonalds are all right here. What more can I ask for?
