Great gym. Not overcrowded, not overpriced like the chain gyms like inshape.
All the equipment is just perfect and clean. This place is great because its not a fashion show like the others just plain and simple great overall gym.
The best thing the daycare is cheaper than your membership so no excuse you cant go to the gym because of the kids.
The owner is also a very nice and friendly guy.
Skip the other places and just come here.

Awesome gym! I’ve been going here since 2007. It’s always been more of a family gym but since steve took over its even better. Everybody knows everybody here. There’s tons of free weights and plenty of machines.

Worked out here for many years. The owner is a very friendly guy, and the gym always had a very comfortable atmosphere — some people just taking it easy getting a light workout, some other people lifting big weights and getting huge — but everybody getting along like a big family.

Steve, the owner, will get to know you by name and say hello to you when you come in and out. He’s very understanding of people’s financial situations and will accommodate you the best he can whether you’re a single mom, student, etc.
The personal training program is also exceptional! My fiancé and I have been training with Antonio for almost 4 months and he is the best! He’ll put you on a meal plan and work with your schedule, whether you need to come in the morning or at night. You can text him anytime you have a question about a certain food or exercise.
I’ve also seen him walk up to others in the gym and correct their posture or form, even if they aren’t his clients.
If you just want to get a good workout in and go home, then In Shape or 24 Hour is perfect.
If you want to make friends and have fun while doing it, then Cal Fit is the place to go!

Can’t say enough good about this gym or 5he owner Steven. If you looking for a gym that wants to help you work out and teach you right and now just want you to hire a personal trainer. This is the right gym. He is great with my son. Teaching how to use everything. Money well spent.

Steve is extremely helpful and sweet. I love that he takes the time to get to know you & your family & greet you every time you enter the gym.
The only cons I would say would be the following:
–Classes like Zumba must be paid for
–Hours are not ideal for spontaneous individuals

A great Gym with a home feel and positive atmosphere! Never gets too packed even during peak hours and enough weightlifting machines/​free weights youll need! Has good amount of cardio equipment as well! Steve, the owner, is always there to greet and welcome everyone with enthusiasm and positive energy. 24hr and in shape might have all the new and fancy equipment… but trust me, if u don’t need all that, which most of us don’t really if u honestly think about it, THIS IS THE GYM FOR YOU!!!

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Steve. He was very nice and helpful. The gym is has a lot of free weights, benches, machines, and there is plenty of room to do cleans, etc. I absolutely felt right at home as soon as I walked in. I’ve been to many gyms and this gym reminds me of my roots when I first started lifting. I’m glad I chose this gym.

My husband and I joined this gym 3 weeks ago and we love it.
Its not big & fancy with all the frills of In Shape or 24hr Fitness but it is a great place to workout and it was exactly what we were looking for!
It’s clean, has lots of equipment, friendly staff, tanning, classes and daycare.
The monthly dues are very reasonable.

I just started going here this week, so far I love it ! Cheap, very cheap oh and did I mention cheap, staff is great and other people just come and do there thing not staring you down like an eagle ! Childcare is cheap and I adore the staff, especially the morning worker ! She knows how to handle my 6 month old ! Afternoon worker kept calling me interrupting my workout ! But no stars knocked off here ! Really recommend this place !

Not fancy, but never crowded. Price is reasonable.

This is an incredible gym. I was given a free pass to try out a 21-​day fitness program through In Shape and at the time I didn’t belong to any gym. I figured I would use that opportunity to get myself back into good shape/​a good routine and by the end of their program I was sorely disappointed. I still wanted to sign on with a local gym, so I started checking out my options.
After doing my research, I had narrowed my choices down to California Total Fitness and 24-​Hour Fitness. While each one had different things to offer, California Total Fitness sold me on their personal touch (Steve, one of the employees remembered me by name the next time I came in) as well as the spaciousness of the facility. From the outside it doesn’t look like anything, but inside I was very surprised at the size of the facility. There is a shit ton (a scientific measurement) of cardio equipment (way more than 24-​Hour Fitness) and their free weight area is just as large too.
The biggest difference for me was how packed the facilities got. At California Total Fitness, I’m able to get in and get out without having to wait forever to use equipment. I had never seen every piece of cardio equipment taken up and I rarely have to wait when using weights/​machines. When I do, I just alter my routine and come back to that machine later. I really love the fact that I can get in and out of there quickly. When I checked out 24-​Hour Fitness, it was busier than a black Friday Walmart and there were a lot of people just standing around and BSing with each other. It almost felt more like a social spot instead of a place to work out.
The facilities are a little dated, but honestly I don’t care what the building looks like. I go there to use their equipment and almost all of it is in great working condition. You’ll find an occasional piece of equipment that’s down for maintenance, but it’s properly tagged so you’re never at risk.
If you’re thinking about joining a gym, I’d highly recommend this one. The people are great, the staff is great and it’s a great place to actually get in and work out.
PS — They also have some classes (Zumba, Step, etc.) but I have not taken one of them. I’m a male and they tend to be all female, so I’m scared of even trying. Makes me feel like a puppy walking in to a bear’s den. Oh, and they also have child care options that I believe are $ 8 a month (very reasonable). That was another selling point for me over 24-​Hour Fitness. They (24-​Hour) wanted me to pay $ 29.99 a month for unlimited child care. That seemed very steep to me.

LOVE this gym. My fiancé and myself have been going here for quite a few years. LOVE that it has a nice respectful atmosphere. Not a meat market like the other gyms in Manteca. It’s a place where you see real people working out to lost weight /​tone up/​body build. Great, helpful, knowledgable staff. They also have a day care that my 2 children have attended the past few years but have recently grown out of needing day care anymore. When i did use it, i loved it. Worry free while I’m working out.
Would recommend this gym to everyone…

One of the best gyms I’ve been to.
Low key, not too busy in the mornings, kinda busy after work but not where you cant get a machine, the owner is super cool always says hi to everyone.
I’ve been a member to in shape and 24 hour, but this place is different, it may be the employees or just the general crowd that uses this place. i really like it here

I love this place! The gym is huge, open and airy. I love how there is plenty of space and it is not cramped or crowded at all. It is kept very clean! This is the cleanest gym in Manteca! The equipment is of really good quality and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Anything you need they are there to help. They have tanning beds, childcare, towel service, locker rooms & showers, drinks and supplements, and aerobics classes, as well as a boxing area with a nice heavy bag and speed bag. This is my favorite gym in Manteca and it is also the least expensive. They don’t try to give you those car salesman like tactics here when you go to buy your membership. No rip offs, just straight forward dealing at a really good price. I really appreciated that because I have gone to other gyms and been really turned off by their sales tactics and high prices. The people that attend the gym are really friendly and it does not have that typical meat-​market feel to it at all. There are people of all shapes and sizes, all doing their thing. So the atmosphere there is really good– no attitude and no jerks who are just there to gawk at women. They also have a TON of treadmills and elipticals, and cardio in general so you will never have to wait for a machine. They usually offer a free trial pass so if you have never been here, go down and try a free pass! I know you’ll love it like I do! Maybe I’ll see you there!

Owner is a nice guy, straight shooter and treats you with respect. Locker room is a little outdated but it’s very clean. Gym workers are nice and always great you with a smile when you come in.
