Came into Mansfield for anniversary pics and someone referred us to this place. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was great; they even put bacon on my Philly cheese steak(extra cost). Great downtown restaurant!

I went here to have lunch with my family and it would have all been good. However I found a hair in my wedge salad and when I showed the waitress she took it and gave me a new one. Nothing was taken off the check, not even an apology or visit to the table by the manager. This is really sad because my family enjoyed their food while I had to sit and wait while trying not to gag after having found that hair in the salad. They got 2 stars only because the second salad was good and hair free. We will not be back.

Absolutely love this gem of Mansfield. The good is great and the staff is friendly. It’s a fairly small place so you might have to wait. But it’s all worth it. Onion rings are one of my favorites.

Mansfield is the mid-way point I meet my work buddy who lives in Cleveland. We have lunch once a month. Uncle John’s is someplace we have been to multiple times. Never a bad meal or a bad service. Check out the specials. We missed the spaghetti one time and after seeing it, I wish we hadn’t. Kind of a small place, but very friendly and great food. I don’t recall what it was called but I had the something in the park at the bottom of the menu. It was so much I had to take ½ of it home. Great Food, Great place.

Great food, bad service. Would give 5 stars if service was better. Honestly best food in Mansfield though

Excellent place to grab a burger in downtown Mansfield. Quick and convenient, my first trip. I had the Italian burger. It was excellent — fair style steak fries with vinegar. Service was friendly and quick. Neat pub style feel. I would highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again!

Ok stopped here for dinner before my son left for deployment. We had excellent sandwiches, burgers, and awesome fried chicken. Prices reasonable, service pleasant, and the quoted 20 min wait for fried chicken was right on time! We had appetizers of fried mushrooms and tomato hot pepper salad and patiently waited. Well worth it! Small place but awesome food!

Small but mighty! A hidden gem in downtown Mansfield and local favorite. One of the best burgers you will ever eat hands down. Also delicious ribs, fish and hand cut fries. It’s small so don’t come with a large group. They seem a bit shorthanded at busy times w/only one server and one bartender covering the floor. Probably not the place for young children — has a full bar and the tight space inside really isn’t high chair friendly. We come here often!

Wow. Just wow. I swung off the highway for, essentially, a snack. I wanted something fast, but better than fast food. A quick search revealed this place, and with a name like that, since I was listening to the Dead and on my way to visit an ailing Deadhead friend, I had to stop in. It is a pretty small bar/diner in downtown Mansfield. Pretty slick neon sign outside, cozy wood inside. Plenty of light near the front, but in general a slightly dark, homey place. Service was excellent start to finish, though they were busy. Lots of interesting burgers and sandwiches on the menu, plus salads; I had the reuben burger. It could have been blah. It could have been fine, but unremarkable. It was, instead, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Great bun, great burger, great corned beef(and plenty of it, but not enough to make the whole thing fall apart,) great sauteed kraut, great dressing. Every bit was good in itself, and combined into an amazing whole that almost had me moaning. I looked forward to every bite, and was sad when it was gone. For $ 7.50, this burger was 10 times better than a $ 5 Big Mac, and bigger besides. It’s not exactly in my neck of the woods but I am trying to find an excuse to come back.

The prices make this place a bargain. I had the rib dinner special. The meat was so tender and the sauce was excellent. The potato salad it came with was the best potato salad I’ve ever had. The food is unique, the service was excellent and the place was busy enough to have wait times. Highly recommend!

The food is just amazing! Great burgers and fresh cut fries. The hot pepper salad is our fav! The only drawback is the size of the place. Limited seating means there is usually a wait. It’s well worth it, though.

Grew up in Mansfield some 40 years ago and when returning home am always looking for a great place to eat and drink. What a find. Great people and great food. Their burgers are some of the best I have had. The artwork on the walls is very nice and the music was great to hear some Jamie Cullum in Mansfield. All in all, an outstanding place. Well done.

Another adventure through mansfield brought us here, and Uncle John’s was a great find! It’s an old-fashioned upscale restaurant with reasonable pricing. Decided to stop by during lunch to see what they had to offer. I ordered the Cyclops burger and home fries with peppers and onions. The burger was huge, with a fried egg on top. If you are hungry, I promise you won’t be after this. The home fries were pretty spicy, but delicious. The only issue I noticed and would agree with other reviews is that the service may be slow. The waitress was hardly around and we had to look for her in order to get refills or our checks to leave. The food makes up for the service though, overall I would definitely return.

Business is closed! No sign on the door — nothing! Don’t wast your time driving there like we did.

i hate to knock a restaurant when it has such a high rating, and when the food is actually good, but the waitress, while nice when we saw her, was«absentee» at best. when we were finished eating she dropped our off our checks and then disappeared for over 20 minutes. eventually we flagged down another server who cashed us out. for that reason, i can’t really give it a full 5 stars. The menu wasn’t very large but the available options all looked appealing. Danielle had a turkey reuben. her friend Erin had a breaded veal sandwich. Erin’s husband Luke(once a Unilocal Elite member) ordered The Moby — a 9oz beer battered pollock sandwich on French bread. i wanted the Moby but ordered the reuben burger and Luke and i agreed to split our sandwiches with each other. i’m glad we did because i liked the fish sandwich better and he liked the reuben burger better. Danielle and i split a large order of fries(as did Luke and Erin) and i also ordered a side of Coleslaw and Erin got some fried mushrooms. The coleslaw was really good. i wish all restaurants had coleslaw like this. it would have been great on a burger or on a hot dog, but was great all on it’s own. Danielle told me her turkey reuben was really good. Erin liked her food but to me it looked like a frozen processed patty. that’s fine. no big whoop. Luke and i agreed The Moby could have used more tartar sauce but i thought it was really good even without. and while i liked the reuben burger i thought the corned beef and the beef patty was a bit much, Luke tore through his half and said he liked it better than The Moby. i’d definitely recommend Uncle John’s Place if you’ve got time to kill and a tummy to fill. Just know what you’re getting into as I think they could use some extra staff.

Purchased a Groupon to tour the old prison and stopped to eat here first. Food was amazingly good. What an unexpected find! I ordered the fried chicken salad, Reuben, and hand-cut fries. All 3 were perfect. Cooked and made right, served hot, fresh, homemade, and delicious. I cannot say enough good things about the food. We were a rowdy bunch and when the food came our table was silent. The other 5 people who were with me agreed, and we talked about how good the food was throughout the rest of the evening. EXTRAS! The place has some very cool artwork/conversation starters. The staff was a bit slow/overwhelmed but still very friendly! Good atmosphere. Overall, very impressed.

My husband and I have been twice. Had cheeseburgers with French fries both times because the local paper had a question on their Facebook page asking the residents what restaurant had their favorite French fries. So many people mentioned Uncle John’s Place that we had to try it. Paid $ 1,25 to park behind the restaurant. Service was great. Loved looking out the window at the beautiful fall colored trees. A wonderfully cooked(I ordered medium-well) meaty burger with fresh onion slice, green lettuce(not yellow or white), fresh tomatoes, cheese. It’s a mouthful but really delicious! Like one you’d make at home in your Mom’s old iron skillet. And, «hello!» they serve Diet Pepsi… Love Uncle John’s and will be back now that we live here!
