So I journey once more afield, and, needing a place to rest my head I secure rooms at the Microtel. The room price is average for the area, which offers few options, anyway. The inn is clean enough, with a few amenities. Pool, hot tub, and fitness center, with a guest laundry and vending. The rooms are reasonable, not large but large enough, with bed, tv, table, mini fridge, and an ill advised and uncomfortable window seat. I would stay here if no other options were available, otherwise I would pursue other options.

I stayed here for a single night a couple of weekends ago with my fiancé. We have stayed at Microtel’s before and have had a mixed bag as far as what we thought of them. So whenever we got there we were pleased to see that this looked like a newly remodeled one. If you haven’t stayed at a Microtel before their rooms may surprise you a bit as they feel very European. By that I mean that they are smaller than your usual hotel ones and generally only have one bed in them. With that being said, we knew what we were getting into and I found our room to be both clean and comfortable. The only problem that we had with it was our toilet getting clogged. Whenever we called the front desk, she explained that there was no maintenance man and that the hotel was completely full so she couldn’t move us. Eventually we got her to give us a plunger and I plunged the toilet myself. I can’t say it was the greatest thing that I have ever done on vacation but it wasn’t too bad either. Other than the room the amenities here seemed to be pretty nice. They had a hot tub and a pool that we didn’t use and my fiancé used the exercise room. I also found it convenient that their breakfast started at 4AM the next morning as I had a marathon to run and so we were leaving pretty early. The bottom line for me is that I would stay here again in the future. No it wasn’t the cheapest place for the amenities but it was a room and it was clean.
