Love this place and the owners/staff. The food is awesome. Restaurant is clean. Went through the drive thru window to pick up my order. It was freshly made, hot and the chips were still crisp when I returned home. The fajita combo is wonderful.

I met a friend to eat here last night. This was our first time at Don Julios. We were very impressed. The brisket tacos were really good. Karen was our server. She was very attentive to our needs. While we were there, the bartender(Humberto) arrived. He came over to our table and spoke to us for a few minutes. He suggested some drinks and some shots. We tried several drinks while we were there including a few on the house. Humberto was a great bartender and really made us feel welcomed. We will definitely go to Don Julios again.

Real friendly staff, drinks were good, I had some fruity concoction… sorry it was orange and very sweet, not sure what it was. I also had the beef taco and chicken enchilada, taco was very good and the enchilada was full of shredded chicken. Rice was good but the beans were even better! Definitely will have to go back and try some of their other foods.

If you are looking for authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine, come here. The employees here are super friendly and welcoming. Several restaurants tend to lack in this area, so to me, it’s a HUGE plus when your waiter/waitress is attentive. Delicious and authentic style Mexican food at a very reasonable price. I was surprised by the quality of taste and portions for the price. I love Mexican food and this has definitely surpassed my expectations in Mansfield, TX. +Chips&Salsa are provided at no cost, salsa was good. +Try the Chile Colorado, it’s fantastic and has a lot of flavor.

Good food for reasonable prices! Owner is great and staff is attentive. They are not stingy on the alcohol in the margaritas either :)

I hate giving low ratings, even 3-stars. Reading other reviews, I must have visited on an off day. The chips came in coffee filters(Which was kinda cute), which was okay except that about a third of them had this chewy stale consistancy and when I asked for a fresh basket of chips I was given an odd look. I ordered 1 Chicken Enchilada and 1 Shredded Beef Enchilada that I was charged $ 2 extra for for the Shredded Beef. The chicken one was very bland, like it was plain chicken breast, dry, with no flavor at all. The only thing that gave it flavor was the sauce on top. The Beef itself was also pretty dry, not a lot of flavor and just didn’t have the consistancy I expected. I ended up spending almost $ 12 on lunch, which the specials were all $ 7ish and I didn’t even get a drink, I only had water.

I would definitely visit this place over Cha Cha’s on 157. Chips and salsa were decent to good. I ordered the Gordita dinner. If I had paid attention I would have asked for no melted cheese inside(and maybe chili); my husband has their green enchiladas, although I liked the green sauce, my husband mentioned the chicken had no flavor. Maybe putting less chicken in them will defuse the lack of flavor. Our kids enjoyed their fries(I would say they were pretty good). The service was great, the people were very attentive. The place was packed for a Wednesday evening. Overall. Same old tex-mex family restaurant.

Don julios is so good. We love the table side guacamole it’s so worth the splurge. You have to get the free tortillas and warm honey and butter. It’s so fresh and good. The fajitas are really good here. We have also tried the quesadillas which are good. The drinks are a little overpriced I had the margarita sangria swirl it was kind of small and not very much liquor in it. The food is awesome so I still give them a 5.

You seat yourself in this quaint little restaurant. The salsa may look a little scary since it’s more of a ketchup consistency, but it is really good. You can see the cilantro, and there are still little bitty chunks of onion in it. The margaritas are fantastic. I got the mango marg, and my husband got one on the rocks. He said it was as good as one you could get on the river walk in San Antonio. I ordered the chimichangas. I was a little disappointed it wasn’t covered in queso, who doesn’t love queso, but they still tasted pretty delicious. The service is great, they great you when you walk in, you have chips and salsa immediately, and then you are placing your order. Don Julios is a nice little gem in Mansfield.

My husband and I are California transplants here in Texas. Our quest for good, authentic, Mexican food has been futile.(No Tex-Mex thank you). We drove by one day and I made a mental note to try their food and I’m so glad we did. We had the Taquito plate, the Chimichunga’s, the Chili Colorado Burrito and the cheese & chicken quesadilla. All items were really good, the salsa is good and so are the chips. Fresh guacamole too! While we didn’t dine it, the take out was well organized. The inside of the restaurant is clean. Our quest is over! We will be back at Don Julio’s Mexican Grill for many years to come!

Love this local Mexican restaurant. The owners are great and always remember you! The food is good. The queso is SO good and I love their chips. Salsa is okay — just seems like bottled salsa with green onions added to it. I’ve had a lot of different things here. The shrimp fajitas had good flavor but the shrimp was SO overcooked. The tacos al pastor are delicious and something that I get over & over again. I love their charro beans, too. My kids love the food, too, and they are very accommodating to special requests for kiddos. Definitely visit — it’s worth it!

I can describe this place in one word — BLAND! The salsa tasted like Pace and the rice had practically no flavor whatsoever. I ordered the golfos which was basically some chicken that had no seasoning on it, with a little cheese and guacamole. I had to use a tomato from my «salad» to add a bit of flavor to possibly the world’s most bland tacos.

This place is a favorite for my husband and me. I’m particular about Mexican food(since I am Mexican) so it says a lot that I love Don Julio’s. Every dish I’ve had has been amazing: enchiladas, golfos, brisket tacos, nachos, chimichangas. Fantastic! However, the beans and rice aren’t my favorite. I would like them to be a little more flavorful, but they are still good. Service is usually great as well — as long as you get one of the long-time staff members(I assume who are owners or family). There are a few younger servers who aren’t quite as friendly. Overall, it’s a fun local place with great food and service with a smile.

The whitest Mexican food you’ll ever eat. The only thing that went in my mouth that had flavor at this restaurant was their hot sauce, and even it was lacking. I ordered the chicken fajitas and instead got strips of plain grilled chicken breast. No seasoning, if it wasn’t for the onions and pepper, it wouldn’t have been edible. The rice was so bland and dry that I had to dump hot sauce all over it. I will say that the charro beans were«decent» but anything that is slow cooked with bacon will taste pretty good. It was just all very bland and not worth the price. The service was fine, everyone was really nice. However, I will not be going back due to the quality of the food.

This place has the best chips and salsa around. The service is usually great. Food is pretty good, that’s why there’s only 3 starts, pretty good… not great. Stuff you could make it home.
