Nobody wants to wake up one day and(without warning) find out something they count on(water heater) is going to cost a bunch of money. It happened to us and was most unwelcome. First, we called ‘another’ company. That guy seemed very competent but we just couldnt pay his seemingly exorbitant price for a water heater. So, we thought we should get a second opinion. A very nice lady named Wilma called from Fairway and said they would probably be about 30% less than the ‘other’ guy. In short, they were. Under the circumstances, I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Cliff and Brandon came to my house, explained each cost with the installation and made it a very easy process. Nobody wants to have to do this. But, if you have to, the Fairway team does a great job getting things back to normal. Thanks folks. Hopefully, I dont need another water heater anytime soon. But, I will give you a call if I do.

Great service! They quickly called to schedule the appointment I arranged through Lowe’s, called 30 minutes prior to arrival, and quickly and neatly installed my garbage disposer. The guys were professional and courteous, they even had to cut my pvc pipe to fit for the disposer with no extra charge. Very pleased! Great job!

Lowes Installer. Joey/John did an estimate first: walked me thru everything that would be required to install to Austin code. Took pictures. Estimate was 1of4 and all were within $ 150 of each other. Installers(Chester) were professional; efficient and polite. Took only 1.5 hrs to install. Had slight problem with water pressure – Came back timely and fixed – no addtl charge. Lowes also followed up to be sure service was done to my satisfaction.

UPDATE: The Monday after Fairway walked out on the job I paid for, I called Lowe’s to discuss the situation. After speaking with Lowe’s, it is my opinion that Fairway is dishonest. They lied to Lowe’s about what actually occurred in my home. I see 2 young kids here who did not want to finish a job on a Friday night and were unprofessional. They failed to set any expectations whatsoever when they made the appointment about time windows. They failed to communicate much at all — before the appointment or while they were here. They do not appear to understand the meaning of integrity. They completely walked off the job without doing anything that I had scheduled and paid for. They clearly do not value the customer(just their $$). They apparently do not give a(insert curse word here). Fairway provided Lowe’s with a new estimate, just for the oven, and it is OUTRAGEOUS! — They upped the basic installation of $ 139 that I paid Lowe’s to $ 200. — They want $ 105 to remove/replace platform. That is the plywood under the oven that keeps the oven level. There is nothing wrong with the existing platform. — They want $ 75 to «cut» the wood. — They want $ 245 to relocate the gas location to the next cabinet. — They want $ 139 to remove & reinstall my existing cooktop over the oven. I guess this is so they can be comfortable while moving the gas line instead of working from a very roomy cabinet entrance. — So for the«bargain» price of $ 764 they will install my oven, but not until after Thanksgiving, since they appear to be too busy with other appointments. I THINKNOT! Let’s not forget the microwave at $ 140. — so $ 904 was what they wanted. Company MISREPRESENTS their values. This is from their website: «Fairway is a company that was put together with the consumer in mind. We actually named our company with the term „Fair Way“ after being witness to far too many consumers falling victim to unfair business practices. We deliver a service and product that we believe to be unmatched by anyone in the industry. We protect the consumer by doing the job with quality parts, knowledgeable & licensed professionals and following all the state law’s and codes… We do it the FairWay. We do the customer right. We offer better services at a lower price than our competitors… Most of our competitors talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. We under promise and over achieve on every job we do. We have dedicated Employees… It’s the FairWay or no way …» Are you kidding me??? I would have to say, they have no idea what the word«FAIR» means! They should rename themselves to «UntrustworthyWay» and get some orange jumpsuits to match! — — — — — — — — — — — — – Side Note — I had my oven and microwave installed today by an appliance installation company that contracts with other Lowe’s locations(not the Brodie store) and other appliance retailers. No new platform was needed, they did not need to remove and replace my cook top, and were able to recess the Gas valve. Cost for everything(installation of microwave, oven and recessing the gas line) was $ 315. Talk about price disparity!

These are the guys Lowe’s uses for installations of water heaters. Once you pay the $ 259 installation fee, these guys come out to deliver and install the water heater. I can’t say that my experience was typical, I can only review what I had happen. The installers showed up and couldn’t wait to ask if Lowe’s explained there would be uncharges. I was told there could be upcharges to bring everything up to code if needed. I understand a reasonable installation incidental fee, but the extra cost was going to be over $ 500. So a $ 400 water heater was about to cost $ 1312. The really surprising part was the complete apathy from the moment the guys arrived. It was after 5PM, the installers looked tired and I couldn’t help but feel that the goal was to come up with such a high price that they’d either take a sucker’s money or be happy to go home and just collect a $ 35 delivery fee. I understand that sometimes the cost goes up for minor incidentals but this felt outrageous. Very disappointed.
