Stay far away from this guy. He promises the moon and doesn’t deliver. We contracted him to do some stained concrete and tile in our home. He had his non-english speaking crew install some type of garage paint in our living room, it wasn’t even acid stain as agreed on. Also, he was supposed to remove the lenoleum flooring in our kitchen and install tile. Instead, they laid the tile over the lenoleum because they were too lazy to pull it up. If I hadn’t stopped by to check I would have never known. When we told him we would not pay the other half of his money for this shotty work, he screamed and hung up on my wife. He then threatened to put a contractors lein on my house. I had to call another contractor to come fix the mess Paul Coy made. His work and attitude toward customers is far from professional.

My spouse and I live in Dallas and own a rental condo in Austin. We have used Paul two times with very mixed results. The first job was a total flooring re-do — from carpet to laminate. We furnished the laminate and Paul and his crew did the labor. He did a good job, but left the premises very, very dusty — not good — we spent hours cleaning up after him. Recently(Oct, 2010), we had Paul come back to re-tile our two bathrooms. I provided the tile and Paul did the demo work and layed the tile. Trouble is, Paul was paid in full(actually he was paid more than 100% as he complained about the job being harder than he originally quoted, etc. so he got an additional $ 100 from us) but he never came back to finish the job — a real disaster for us since we are out of town owners. We had to pay another Austin flooring company to finish the job and they were less than complimentary about Paul’s initial work. Absolutely do not pay Paul Coy in full for any work until the work is completely finished to your satisfaction. It is a shame that Paul chose to rip us off — deception is a sad thing. We’ll know better the next time and now, you will too.
