Very hidden place — the family owned business — very good ribs, fried chicken, cole slaw and onion rings.

Always on the look out for BBQ on our way back from our now regular trips down south, JK’s house of ribs popped up on Unilocal and since we were no more than 15 minutes from the Manning exit decided to give it a try… so glad we did. JK’s is a rather new, tidy and small operation that boasted a packed parking lot at lunch time all with locals {I scanned the plates and they were all SC} including 8 members of the local EMS squad, we ended up parking in the adjacent field with the smiling permission of who might just be JK himself. Menu is about what you’d expect for a southern BBQ joint but walked up and just asked what would be the best choices for 3 hungry travelers heading back up north. The pleasant and helpful lady behind the counter decided that the mixed platter of pulled pork, pork ribs, mac and cheese, dirty rice, soft bun and green beans along with a ½ rack and a dozen chicken wings would do the trick and indeed it did. The ribs were fat and succulent with that bite that told you… this was the real thing. Sweet, tangy with a mustard background and a smoky finish that signaled Carolina BBQ. Nothing fell off the bone and for a good reason, Great BBQ leaves you with the sensation of peeling the savory meat off the bones not a mouthfeel of overcooked and bland protein covered in sauce… Wings ware crunchy and lip smacking in it’s tartness and deep caramel stickiness and the Pulled pork sandwich was a revelation in subtle smoker craft… JK’s House of Ribs is indeed a find on the the long road back to the land of middling and disinterested grilled meats.

Checked in at hotel and asked«where do the locals eat?» JK’s is the best BBQ we have had in a very long time. Sampler platter is the way to go! Service was outstanding. We travel on business every week and really appreciate places like this. Don’t think about, just go! You won’t be disappointed.

Food, service, bathroom, cost all JK’s in the top echelon of restaurants worthy of high praises. The location was my only«issue» as it is not along any route I drive. But that’s barely a complaint. The food is worth the drive.

Excellent! The five stars are worth it. A little on the spicy side but that’s what I prefer. Real smoke. Real Barbeque. This is worth the drive!

Great food, super clean place, great stop for a long ride on 95. Ribs are great, as are the baked beans, green beans, mac n cheese and coleslaw.

Awesome BBQ! Smoked & Sauced. Didn’t expect much when we pulled up, but our family just had some of the best BBQ we’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend & well worth the short drive from I-95.

Very clean, family friendly restaurant. Excellent wings, we had the sweet chili sauce. The ribs were very meaty, tender, fall off the bone with a strong smoky flavor. We didn’t care for the sauce-not the bbq flavor we expected. ‘Bake’ beans were sweet and tasty but do not order the mac and cheese. We threw out the whole portion-more like mac baked with scrambled eggs and some cheese thrown on.

This is truly a restaurant that wins my heart. The hostess was beautiful in every way. Excellent customer service and a sweet spirit too. The ribs are spot on. The tossed salad was so good.(Cant believe I said that.) I’m going to say that the green beans taste like my mother in laws and that is a compliment. The kids had tender baskets that were moist and crunchy. Fries were lightly seasoned and a drink was included for 4.99. We fed our family of 6 for $ 48. No complaints. We will be back. I hope to try the Philly steak and sampler platter.

Last Saturday, February 27th, my wife and I were camping with our son and his wife at Poinsette State Park near Manning, SC. Our dinner plans changed so a quick search on Unilocal and we found this place. A quick look at the menu and we made our choices. Our son made the run. We got 2 pounds pulled pork and a full rack of ribs. My son said the place was very clean and the people there were very courteous. As we southern people are. Being life long South Carolina residents, we eat great ribs and bar b Que all the time. This place is top notch. Great southern food and southern hospitality. What more can I say? Try it.

We love JK’s, best BBQ in the area… yummy! I get the pork and the chicken, take them home when we have company. The sides are also excellent.

We were traveling down 95 looking for a restaurant and saw JK’s House of Ribs had a perfect five star review with 31 reviews. We had to try it. I must say it lived up to its reputation. We ordered a sampler platter a brisket sandwich a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was excellent their macaroni and she is Heather I found pasta and cheese and it clearly have more than one kind of cheese. It wasn’t your base of chatter. The brisket which tender and had great flavor. The ribs were also tender but didn’t necessarily fall off the bone which is good. I’m 5 miles away and still thinking about their baked beans if they were sweet and beany. Although JK wasn’t in tonight I did meet his mom will let me. She’s truly done an exceptional job bringing up a Colaneri master. I would recommend JK’s house of ribs to anyone. Definitely worth the 5 mile trip off I-95.

Excellent food and service. Stopped here on the drive up to New York. Was staying at a hotel nearby and found it on Unilocal.Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. Great option when normally there is only fast food type restaurants around. I would love to return when driving the i95 corridor again.

Fantastic. 2 days ago, 4 of us stopped in on our road trip and ordered family style(full rack of ribs, pound of pulled pork, fried chicken legs/thighs, green beans and sweet potato fries) for $ 30. We can’t stop talking about how the amazing food was. I recommend stopping at this gem!

I can’t say enough about this restaurant. Less than 10 minutes off I-95 and well worth the short drive. The building seems brand new and has picnic tables outside for the good weather. The bathrooms are clean and roomy! Order at the counter and pick out your table. The food will come out very shortly. Our party ordered the pulled pork sandwich, Philly cheesesteak and 3-piece fried chicken. The chicken took a few extra minutes to come out because it’s made to order! Golden-fried deliciousness, light and crispy and not too much breading at all. Hot and not dry in the least. I would also highly recommend the philly cheesestake. Soft bread roll and tender steak mixed with green peppers and cheese. Two people could possibly split this sandwich but once it comes out you won’t want to! Order your own! But if you really want a smokey treat order the pulled pork sandwich. The smoke flavor was infused so well into the meat which was tender and delicious. It was served with French fries that were well-seasoned and ready for some ketchup. You will not be disappointed in the least if you come to this restaurant! The staff are so helpful and friendly and ready to serve up amazing food.

The best southern food I’ve ever had — absolutely no contest. I had(over the course of two visits and one to-go order) the ribs, field peas, green beans(best vegetable dish I’ve ever had in my life), cole slaw, fries, pulled pork, and rib tips. Everything was on-point, fresh, and delicious. It didn’t hurt that the place is spotless and the people were incredibly friendly. This is a place you NEED to go if you’re on 95 going to Florida or somewhere else warm

Very nice rib joint we stopped at on our way home back from Florida. Worth the few mile detour from I 95. It isn’t easy to satisfy everyone in a family of six traveling along i95. Over the past ten years making this trip we found a few gems and many more disappointments. This is our new favorite Carolina BBQ place. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The food is awesome. We got two full slabs of ribs and sides. The ribs were cooked perfectly with just the right flavor. Sauce had a bit of a kick but was not too spicy for the little ones. Clean place with clean bathrooms. Will be back. Closed Mon, Tue and Sunday.
