Brought my Macbook in b/c it was running slow and wasn’t sure if I should just toss it and get a new one or try and fix this one. Very helpful staff suggested a new solid state drive would be far cheaper and make the computer run like new. Sounds good to me! 2 days later got my computer back, and they even backed up everything from my old hard drive and reloaded it on my new one so my computer came back brand new. 5 stars for helpfulness, 5 stars for being honest with me, and 5 stars for going above and beyond. Can’t recommend these guys enough!

DONOTGOHEREWHATEVERYOUDO! I have NEVER been treated so poorly. I am absolutely appalled at the customer service here. Horrible business practice, dishonest, defensive. I got completely conned by these people. I took my computer here to get my hard drive replaced and my mom was quoted $ 99 on the phone and I was quoted the same price again in the office. My mom has taken her computer there to get fixed before and recommended them to me. I was quoted $ 150 at the Apple store, so I figured a cheaper price and supporting a local business, best of both worlds. I told them I was going back to NYC(where I live) on Saturday– I dropped it off on Wednesday. They assured me that it would be ready and they would call me in the next few days.(Apple had told me it would be done in an hour.) I received a call the next day saying it was taking a little longer than expected, said it would still be ready, totally fine with me, I didn’t need it while I was home. Waited by my phone for the next 2 days, never heard a peep. Called them on Saturday, they are closed– they told me they were open on Saturday, never told me they closed at 2. I have to drive back to New York and I have to leave my computer there. Not ideal, but I can still deal, even though I had to chase after them for this information. I’m thinking that it won’t be a big deal, that surely they will send it in a timely fashion. I call them a week later after I haven’t received it and haven’t heard from them asking when I can expect it, they said in the next few days. I receive the computer a week after that with a surprise bill for $ 245, including the shipping. No call, no explanation, no apology for not having it done on time, absolutely nothing. I call them because obviously there must have been a mistake on this price, I get no answer, leave a message, don’t hear back until a week ago when I received a very short and rude message from Cathy. I finally got a hold of Cathy yesterday after some phone tag last week. She was nothing but rude and short with me from the very start. When I wanted to discuss the bill they wanted none of it, she treated me like I was trying to skip out on paying my bill. She gave me to Ted, who fixed my computer, who was a little nicer to talk to, but is also the one who told me that the price was $ 99, he tells me that the $ 99 was for the new hard drive, and the LABORWASNOTINCLUDEDINTHEPRICEQUOTE. Whaat? It was $ 109 for labor. In what world do you not include the labor cost in a price quote for someone? That is insanity. They charged me 15 for shipping, which I finally got them to take off, and they acted like they were doing me a favor that this«one time we’ll do this for you,» when it was their fault in the first place. She was nothing but bulldozing everything I said so that she could take my credit card so they could charge me $ 235. I felt like I got backed into a corner so I gave it to her, and then I got off the phone feeling like I was completely bamboozled and conned into giving them my credit card number. When I got off the phone with them I called my mom, who has done business with them before and also owns a small business in Manlius. She went in to visit them and they were nothing but horrible and rude to her, told her that I was lying and told her a bunch of things that didn’t happen. But bottom line, if I knew I would be charged $ 235 for this service, I would have gone to Apple, had my computer back in an hour for $ 150 with good customer service and people who stick to their word, or just put that money towards a new computer that is not already 4 years old. Period. I am just COMPLETELY appalled by this place. I can’t say it enough. I was nothing but nice when I talked to them each time and I was treated like I was a second class citizen. They never took any ownership for anything on their end, and acted like I was crazy the entire time. I have NEVER been treated this way when dealing with any kind of business. I was met with nothing but dishonesty and hostility from this establishment. I am appalled at their business practice, and honestly I am shocked they’re still in business when they treat people this way. It’s almost as if no one ever questions the price they’re given if it’s more than they were quoted, and when I questioned it they were nothing but defensive and rude. I will tell anyone and everyone not to go to these people, they are con artists, and they are a disgrace to small business owners everywhere. Lesson I learned, I will never again accept a service without getting an official bill before the service has begun. Since I still ended up giving my credit card to them like an idiot and paid over double what I was quoted, I just want to make sure that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
