Although much smaller than the malls I’m used to, this place has charm. Like Cali G. said, River Hills does the area it serves justice for what it offers. How awesome is the carousel? I saw a police officer grabbing food at the food court(which is surprisingly diverse) pay for a few kids’ rides on it out of his own good will. That made my heart warm and made me miss this mall. It’s really not that bad of a place to just grab food either. Open space for eating and not too crowded that it gets annoying. Props.

For the area that this mall is in, it does the area justice. This city Mankato is small city. So Everything that you would buy will be in this mall and the surrounding location on Adams and Madison. The mall has all the to be expected stores: Game stop, Claires, Hollister, Abercrombie, and other good retailers. So for a mall fix, it gets the juices flowing, yet not an all out hang out spot. No way.

We were all very surprised at how much we enjoyed this mall. There’s a working carousel, strong selection of stores, and a food court that goes beyond the generic fast food options(though it has those too). It’s better than a lot of the Twin Cities malls in cleanliness, selection, and overall shopping experience.

It’s really funny to me, to have a Target in a mall. You can tell this a small town mall, but in fact I’m sure it meets the needs of people in the area fairly well. There wasn’t any exceptional attention to décor, the place was clean and I didn’t get bothered by people selling anything from a cart so that was kind of nice. The parking lot was surprisingly challenging. Other than that, of course it would be nice to have more typical stores like Nordstrom’s or Macy’s, but this place gets the job done.
