Great hidden restaurant in Mankato. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. The shrimp were excellent. Our server was attentive and professional. I great place to have a relaxing, delicious meal.

Here on a business trip with two coworkers. Not many real restaurant options in this area and we decided to give it a try. Place is hard to find and kinda hidden towards the back parking lot, but boy am I glad we found it! Steak was fantastic — perfectly cooked! Two thumbs up! Service is very nice as well. Will be back if we are ever visiting again.

Here on a work trip for the night and read a few reviews for a decent meal. Drove over here and honestly, almost didn’t get out of the car. It’s not in the best location and doesn’t look fancy from the outside. Decided to give it a try and am so happy I did. Was with two co-​workers and everything we ordered was awesome! Waitstaff was extremely attentive and helpful. Steaks were cooked perfectly, super yummy scallop dish. No complaints at all! Going to live on the edge more often!

Went there with my wife. Looked at the internet for the best steak in mankato. Got the steak. Way overdone and not a great cut. My wife’s fish was fishy. They gave us the worst table when there were others and the service was very slow. Overpriced and not worth a second chance.

We were in Mankato on business, and normally, since I’m certain we’ll be back in Mankato, I would prefer to give this place a second chance before I reviewed it. But this was so egregious, I feel compelled to not bother with a second chance, as I won’t return anyway.
To begin, I asked for a glass of red Zinfandel, and the waitress said, «I don’t think we have that. I’ll bring you a wine list.» I had no need to see a wine list, so I said, «I’m not picky. Would you please ask the bartender for something similar, and I’ll take that?» Her response, «I’ll bring a wine list.» Perhaps this place doesn’t have a bartender, if so, I’m sorry for the servers, but that being said, the wine list did indeed feature a red blend including red Zinfandel. So, minimally, there is some lack of training here.
Bottom line, the service here continued to lag. We had a difficult time getting another drink. We never had anyone ask us how our food was… the list goes on.
As for the food, I ordered my steak medium rare to rare… I received it dried out and medium well. Since our server never came around to ask how the food was, I never had a chance to explain that I might like a replacement. When she asked if I would like a box, «for all that meat,» she didn’t even seem surprised when I answered no.
My husband had the alfredo pasta. Although the pasta was done to perfection, the sauce lacked any flavor of cheese and seasoning… very bland.
They tout their «homemade» bread, however that wasn’t really anything special, and the dinner salads were very small.
Lastly, the pile of dirty napkins on the bench outside of the restrooms was a huge turnoff for me.
All in all, I can’t help it. They made me write this review.

Hands down the best steak in town! The pasta and seafood dishes have never disappointed either. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is quiet and intimate. Fine dining in a nice, but less «formal» environment. This is my favorite secret getaway for both romantic dinners and business lunches.

Unimposing from outside. Sort of tucked back from the street, sharing the building and parking lot.
Not a large place, small neighborhood size. Dim lighting but tastefully decorated. Our waitress was Jennifer. She was very good and friendly. A large selection of specials as well as the regular menu offered good selections.
It felt upscale with only moderately upscale pricing. We were satisfied with the meals though didn’t order anything too exotic… fish and chips for my husband and rosemary garlic chicken breast with optional spinach and swiss for me. The fries were excellent, fried fish above average. My chicken was average as well. But no complaints… the veggie option instead of potato was uninspiring plain broccoli, califlower, carrot mix. Overall a nice meal.
