Second time we ate at a House of Flavors. Ordered the Monte Crisco and it was good. The ham inside of the sandwich is sanders ham and the turkey is like turkey at thanksgiving. Not lunch meat. Very good. Hash browns that my guest had were undercooked. Overall a nice experience

I agree with earlier reviews… this place needs a good scrub down! Ordered the monte cristo… which usually comes on French toast. It looked like they just threw a couple pieces of bread into fried egg and let it fry there(read– French toast must not be great either). Ordered a chicken fajita salad which came in an over cooked, very greasy tortilla bowl. A few strips of chicken, ¼ cup diced tomatoes and a few shreds of cheese. The rest was just lettuce. For the length of time we waited for our food, I was expecting something worth waiting for… or at least something good. The only saving grace for this place is the Blue Moon and Superman ice cream. These two flavors each earned a star which is why this place actually got two stars from me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have given any :(

LOVE this place!!! We go and visit this place every night we are in town. They have fresh made waffle cones and wonderful, out of this world ice cream! The food is soooo good as well. Defiantly try the burger that has ham and Swiss on it. I love the French dip on a pretzel roll. When they have loaded potato soup, make sure you get a bowl. Fun and friendly atmosphere with a fantastic waitstaff.

Cute atmosphere. Great staff. Place needs a thorough scrubbing. My omelette was decent. Ice cream was good. Two stars for the filthy floors, dusty artwork and stained window shades. But our waiter was super friendly, smiley, and speedy.

my husband and i enjoyed our breakfasts at house of flavors the two days we were in town. the service is wonderful and there are lots of smiles going around for everyone. i was impressed by the food too. even though it was breakfast, it was a delicious one. the biscuits and gravy is excellent. we ordered them on both days. sunday is the only day they serve eggs benedict and it was done perfectly with a nice hunk of ham rather than canadian bacon which is fine by me b/c i belong to the clean plate club. chris enjoyed the corned beef hash breakfast saturday and the omelet on sunday. you must also try their homemade ice cream. the diner ambiance is lovely. if only i had brought my poodle skirt and saddle shoes. :-) we can’t wait to come back here the next time we are in manistee.

Amazing breakfast! Super fresh food, great service and banana bread!!! My only wish is that they served more meat with their breakfast meals

Great place for breakfast or lunch! Awesome ham with many of their breakfasts and a free third egg for free too. For lunch they have an awesome turkey asparagus melt on marbled rye that is really tasty. This is not deli sliced turkey, but turkey done there on a rotisserie. It is the best! Very reasonable prices, friendly staff and great diner ambiance with 50’s music playing. Good ice cream too!

As a visitor to Manistee, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the«House of Flavors.» I went in on Friday night and partook of their all-you-can-eat fish fry for 8.99. The fish was crispy, flaky, and surprisingly good for the price. I was so impressed by the price and quality of the House’s dinner offerings that I came back for breakfast the next morning. I ordered the«House Special», which came with two eggs, hash browns, and locally-baked banana bread. Not bad for $ 3.99! The«House of Flavors» also serves a wide assortment of ice cream, though I didn’t try any myself. In terms of atmosphere, they’ve got a classic 1950’s vibe going(complete with old vinyls plastering the ceiling). It’s nothing fancy, but it’s certainly classier than Denny’s/IHOP/etc. If you’re hankering for a great deal on some all-American cuisine(or if you just want breakfast for dinner), the«House of Flavors» is just what you’re looking for.

Great diner ambience and awesome food. Everything we ate there was fantastic. My husband had a scrambled eggs with chorizo(Mexican Scramble) in it which was outstanding, I had the fish dinner which was very nice and crisp and my father in law ordered the turkey dinner which was tasty. The milkshakes we had were big and perfect and the little bit of space we could muster up for a sundae was well worth it. When(not if) I go back to Manistee, I’ll be eating at House of Flavors again.

Like most businesses in manistee, they benefit from the nearest competition being a half am hour or so away. The staff is mediocre often getting orders wrong. The food is ok some days and not so great on others. At the end of the day they just don’t offer anything that special or different. It’s diner food and ice cream. Staff seems to be better in the off season than in the summer. Over all, it could be better but it could be a lot worse.

My husband and I were traveling from Traverse City to Lansing via Route 31 and found this fabulous little gem. Very cute little diner with the classic 1950’s styling. Very cute and clean and well maintained, just super cute! My husband is a fish fry addict, but is also somewhat of a fish snob. Just his luck, it was fish fry Friday. His snobbish side took over, and he asked for a sample of the fish before he ordered it, and I couldn’t believe it when he got his sample! He loved it, declaring it one of the best fish dinners he’s had in quite a while(not bad, considering we had just eaten fish dinners at various locations all week!). The pollock was delicately fried in a nice light batter and deliciously flavored so as to compliment, but not overpower the tastiness of the fish. He ordered extras, and was a very happy guy. I ordered the Monte Cristo. Typically, at diners, the Monte Cristo is sliced lunch meat on French toast. This sandwich had huge piles of actual, genuine, broasted, tender and moist turkey, actual ham(thickly sliced), and delicious cheese on fabulous French toast. The best part, HOMEMADESTRAWBERRYFREEZERJAM(just like my grandma made)! I ate half, then took the other half home for dinner. My husband was still savoring his fish, so I asked for a bowl of soup, just to try it. The homemade turkey noodle soup hit the spot on the cold, rainy day. Fabulous favors, just delish. This restaurant is known for its ice cream, so, of course we had to taste it. Oh my sweet lord. I don’t know the actual name of the ice cream we ordered, because I just pointed at the picture and said, «We want THAT»! It did not disappoint. Some of the best butter-pecan ice cream we’ve ever had(whole, giant pecans, smooth, creamy butter rum flavored ice cream), topped with hot caramel sauce, chunks of waffle cone, homemade whipped cream and(wait for it…) BACON!!! Simply foodgasmic. So, if you are within, oh, say 2 hours of Manistee, MI, go there. You won’t be disappointed.

Family had lunch there on Friday… we returned for Friday night ice cream and ended up eating soup /sandwiches(v good) and then had ice cream(delicious). Then, voted and had breakfast Saturday morning(10 am) — waited ~ 10″ for table of 5 + infant. Breakfast excellent — among us we had: House Stack(excellent), Turkey Stack(muy excellent — great flavors! — both had PLENTY of food; 2-fer w/whole grain pancakes — delicious; French Toast(excellent). Staff friendly, efficient; service v. good even with the place packed — and it was late morning and they had been full all morning(from 7 am opening). Clean, cheerful, great service and great food.

The Park Dairy House of Flavors in Manistee is a famous landmark restaurant, treasured by both locals and visitors, and deservedly so. No visit to Manistee is complete without stopping here for breakfast, or for their ice cream. the inside is a classic diner décor, with kitschy pop-culture items strewn about the place, interspersed with old photos of the business and local area from bygone days. We have eaten here several times over the years, and while there can be a wait at times(this is a very popular place), the service has always been friendly and reasonably fast. When it’s overcrowded, the service and quality can slip a bit, but that happens at any overcrowded restaurant. You can’t beat the prices. You can get a very decent breakfast for under $ 5. And the ice cream is fantastic! House of Flavors — you are terrific!

Just ate the most delicious turkey dinner here. Get it immediately! The waitress was very sweet and the service so fast. Absolutely delicious, and a «half order» was gigantic! My whole meal was less than $ 10.

Stuffed banana bread French toast was to «die for». Mediterranean egg stack was really good with a little more cheese and grilled onions. Hard to decide between breakfast or lunch. Saw some delicious looking hamburgers go by. Wanted to try the ice cream but too full. We MUST come back.

Good food(breakfast) and friendly service at a good price. Try the corn beef hash… It is truly heavenly as are the hash browns. The coffee had a nice sweet taste, and not from the sugar. The turkey bits in the omelette is fresh and roasted! Not cheap cold cuts, made into cube form… Came later that day for ice cream, and it was equally fabulous. We plan to return again this week during our stay on Lake Michigan…

I have been here only once for breakfast, but what a pleasant surprise. There were people standing outside, but they took the 2 of us and sat us at a counter, waited on us right away, and had the food in very short order. There was a lot of food and very good too. The coffee was very good, and the prices were decent. I live about 3 hours away, and can’t wait to go here and try it again. A guy sitting next to us ran the waitress back and forth the whole time, made a mess while eating his food, and didn’t leave a tip. I was appalled, and decided to leave the tip for him. She certainly deserved it. October 8, 2015: Had the opportunity for my wife and I to eat breakfast here again today, and I can reiterate what I said about my first visit here. The waitress was very friendly and did a nice job for us. We both had a nice meal for a total of $ 22.00, which included a $ 5 tip.

The place was packed at 10am on opening day of deer season in Michigan, and I see why. It’s the best breakfast in Manistee! Its a fluke to not have good service there, so get over it. My wife loved their turkey gobbler offering for breakfast, and I enjoyed the turkey scrambler platter. Outstanding! We were stared down at sump’m fierce, too, as we’re biker types, but I don’t give a f**k about that anywhere. It was actually kinda funny to see little old ladies sucked into the hoax of religion try not to look us in the eyes. Pure fun for us. The shock factor is priceless. Then they hear us speak to people, and get it figured out. We’re not all bad. I love scarin little old ladies upon first glance, and hugs all around when we leave. Invaluable… Look forward to doin it again!
