I’m in town visiting and I was looking for a used book store and I’m glad I found this place. Yes it’s small but I like it that way. The owner was very nice and talked to both my child and me. He told me where I could find each genre of books. Overall I had a great experience.

Really nice lovely store in Manistee. The man who works in the store is very kind and has a lot of stories to tell. The books here are mostly under $ 5 but in great conditions. Good place for people who love reading.

Small store, randomly stocked, but a decent selection of gently used books — you might happen upon sometime unexpected. Such as a duck at the front door.

I was in Manistee County for a wedding and arrived a few days early. I decided to visit River Road in Manistee downtown for shopping. I came across Anne’s bookstore I wasn’t looking for a book, but decided to take a look. Anne’s is a small used book store. The owner, Jim, was engaged in conversation with another visitor when I arrived. After the other person left, he greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. Since I was at the front, looking at children’s books, he explained how he had sorted them by age. As I walked around the store, he occasionally engaged me in conversation about different types of books, continuing to tell me how the store was organized. I typically don’t want someone to talk to me while I’m «browsing», but I never felt Jim was bothering me. He had several books by local authors, some signed. The selection in this store is great. He had several of every genre. I ended up selecting 3 books. Jim told me there was an offer to get the 4th book free. I picked out a fourth book, and Jim actually gave me the most expensive one free. The store is clean, and I would recommend it to everyone, even just for browsing. Jim mentioned how his goal is to read every book as it comes through his store, but sometimes, the books are sold before he gets a chance.

a great bookstore. The man who works there is a real character and has traveled the world and has many interesting stories to tell. The prices were reasonable.

My daughter quickly finished her road trip reading, so she asked if we could take a look. Small place with an incredibly helpful owner. He was pretty amazing as he directed customers to specific types of books or alternatives if he didn’t currently have something. The prices were very reasonable. We coudn’t decide, so we bought three books for a whopping six bucks.

Anne’s Book Store is a lovely new and used bookstore in Manistee, MI. It doesn’t have the widest selection, but it has some unique finds and the bargains can’t be beat! Most quality used books are under $ 5. I was busy adding the business to Unilocal and uploading pictures when the owner sneaked up behind me and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. He was a great salesman and attempted to steer me toward the most recent additions of Fiction(from what I gathered, probably Mystery Romance-ish stuff). His eyes lit up when I quickly stopped him and inquired about any possible True Crime Novels. The Non-Fiction Mystery book section was a little sad. The selection was sparse, but The Hot Zone sat prominently in the middle. There were a few other books I probably wouldn’t have minded reading, but I wasn’t looking to spend much money and I felt that finding this book(one of my mother’s favorites) so fast was a sign. I snatched it up and headed directly for check-out. The owner jotted down my purchase, figured out the tax, opened his register and handed me change. The book was a whopping $ 3.18 when all was said and done. It was easily the most bang for my buck I spent the entire weekend and kept me thoroughly enthralled on the ride back to Chicago. I am now convinced that this tickle in the back of my throat is most likely Ebola. So, thanks to Anne’s Book Store for igniting my imagination(and my paranoia).
