It’s unsurprising, but Time Magazine went with an innocuous choice for their Person of the Year; Skippy the Billionaire a.k.a. Mark Zuckerberg. I guess Julian Assange is just squandering his life away with that WikiLeaks thing, eh? According to Time, a social networking site with tons of privacy issues and annoying applications has more gravitas than a non-profit group that bravely exposes the horrors of the military/industrial complex. Which site has a better chance of saving the world? One where people play Farmville and try to get Betty White on SNL? Or one where its founder and its contributors are risking their freedom and their lives in order to merely spread truth. Zuckerberg’s making boatloads of money. Assange is trying in his own way to ensure more tomorrows for our flawed species. Zuckerberg is an opportunist. Assange is a revolutionary. Zuckerberg’s getting head from women who wouldn’t want a thing to do with him if he wasn’t loaded. Assange is facing prison time for illuminating the dark machinations of the power elites. Congrats Mark, you really«earned» it. Ya dweeb.
