This is is your typical no-frills NYC nail salon. They know how to knock out a well-done, long-lasting mani/pedi in under 45 minutes, which is what I’m looking for as a regular. The service is always friendly and accommodating. The salon is clean, massage chairs are comfy, and a big selection of Essie colors await me.

Please do not go here! I decided to try this place as I was shopping in the area and saw they had a large selection of gelish polish so I was excited. They took me right away but then literally called in a man who looked like he was straight off of the street to work on my nails because everyone else had a customer. He started filing my nails, but one was broken and instead of just shortening my nail so that it was even after the broken part, he starts to file it so that it’s completely at an angle! I had to stop him and ask him to cut down my nails to make them all even again. I was hoping he wasn’t going to do my whole manicure and that one of the uniformed women would take over for my gel, but I was not so lucky. He was also so mad at me for speaking up and the women told him my nails were not even across the top and he still gave me a terrible look every time i brought something up. ALSO! I thought i was getting clean tools because he pulled them out of the normal plastic packaging for sterilization, BUT then he put the dirty tools RIGHTBACKIN! I should have walked out right at that point :( The gentleman proceeds to do my gel polish, but he puts my hands in water beforehand — I’ve NEVER had my hands in liquids before a gel manicure(and I’ve had 5 – 6 of them) and i didnt speak up because i thought he knew better. I was very wrong. The gel polish he applied had different thicknesses across all of my fingers so some were a dark purple plum and others were pink looking. I had to ask him to redo almost all my nails 3 – 4 times. Of course with all of the layers, my gel hardly lasted a week but it was so ugly I didnt mind this time. I had to speak up so many times and felt like a horrible and demanding person, but afterwards I realized I was paying a good amount of money for this service and this man was clearly not a regular employee and i was taken advantage of. STAYAWAY!

Very rushed service. I understand you are busy, but there’s no need to rush through my gel manicure and pedicure(especially the pedicure) because you’re thirsty to grab as many customers as you can. I ended up having to do my own feet when I got home because she flew through my pedi :/Gel manicure lasted a while though… about three weeks.

My boyfriend lives right around from this salon, so I popped in for a mani-pedi on a rainy day. They have a great $ 25 mani-pedi deal on Mon-Thur. They are very accommodating of walk-ins. Their prices are very reasonable outside of these deals as well. It’s a cute salon — massage chairs for the pedicure chairs. My nail tech did a great job, carefully scrubbed, massaged, and cut out cuticles. She also painted carefully and made sure to clean up any residue around my nails. I also noticed that everything was sterilized and clean, and they use a new, sterilized kit for each person. This is rea My only gripe is that it’s a little cramped when there is a full salon(which I presume is usually the case with these prices). But considering it’s New York, spaces tend to be fairly small. All in all, a really good mani/pedi for the price.

I live a block away and this is the most inexpensive mani/pedi around. Originally hailing from the land of $ 16 mani/pedis(south Brooklyn) I am always hesitant to pay Manhattan prices. Sweety Angel is a great bang for your buck considering the neighborhood. It’s not Elizabeth Arden, but for a local nail spot, can’t beat it. Décor is totally lovely. Mani/pedi totally good. I dropped my phone into the pedicure water and it was rescued so quickly there is no damage. This place is fabulous.
