Smashburger

Burgers are always on point and the fries never dissapoint. I really love the fried pickles and the shakes.

You haven’t lived life if you’ve never eaten at Smashburger. That’s all I’ve got to say about that.

This place makes me miss In n Out back in California. The servers were nice, but the burgers were just… meh. The bun wasn’t warmed/​toasted and the fillings spilled/​slipped out of the burger. This place really deserves 2 stars, but I’m a sucker for fried food and its only saving grace were the fries, which were nice and crispy.

Got the avocado chicken sandwich it was delicious, everyone liked thier food, service was very good here.

I know — it is smashburger. However, this location is just AWESOME. When I was in Vegas, the smashburger I went to near work one day decided to discontinue goat cheese as an option for creating my own burger, even though it was on a salad. They also refused to make my fried egg runny. I stopped eating there. I had henceforth prevented Eric R. from going there with me because I was annoyed. However, when he saw smashburger in MHK a few months ago, he finally got to try it and my perfect burger was created: grilled onions, fresh jalapenos, goat cheese, avocado, and a runny fried egg on a classic egg bun. He liked his burger too.
This past weekend we went back for lunch. I got my perfect burger again. Eric R. tried the smash chicken — I will have to do that eventually. There are a few menu items here I had not seen at other locations, including a Kansas City BBQ burger and a spinach-​cucumber-​goat cheese balsamic that I think would be good with chicken. However, it is really hard for me to not get my creation, especially because this location makes the egg just right too. I am impressed with this operation because the customer really counts here.

This place gives a high quality burger, but the fries are off-​the-​charts fantastic. Their smooth rosemary flavor took my title of «favorite fry» from the Cajun fries of Five Guys. Only my fear of gaining weight stopped me from rapidly devouring the entire batch.
They offer a few non-​standard energy drinks at the front, which helps can help break up your drink selection, if you tire of the typical soda market.
I only wished they took better care of the furniture here. I had to try a few chairs to find one that all the feet attached to it.

Great burgers, and the salted carmel milkshake is awesome. The only negative comment I have is about the service. Typically you are greeted when you walk in and the service is professional. Today we were served by Mary, she was completely dismissive and acted as if we were a nuisance. I will be back but will turn right around if she is at the counter.

My impression was upscale fast food restaurant. It was 5 star compared to a McDonalds, Wendy’s, Freddy. Overall in the spectrum of restaurants a 3. Price was a little more than other burger joints, but reasonable and worth it.
The actual meat of the hamburger was the best I’ve had in awhile. I’m not a fan of shoestring fries, but the smash fries had a good seasoning to them.
I want to go back and try the chicken.

Normally I won’t rate a burger place higher than 3 stars if they don’t offer to cook it medium rare. This place is definitely an exception to the rule. Really good flavor. I ordered the Kansas Smash w/​bacon and fresh jalapeños. Outstanding flavor. I was little apprehensive at first given that there is A1 steak sauce on this burger, but steak sauce + sautéed onions creates a new flavor that this burger wears nicely. It’s bursting with flavor, and of course with the fresh jalapeños and bacon adds the perfect amount of crunch. Next time I’ll add some chipotle mayo to it, I think it would round the flavors put even more. Try this place, it’s good!

I come here a loooooot… i see they have always nice food. Hot and fresh. I take the mushrooms and swiss burger… I cant say anything about it other than (it sooo goood)… but as usual. I have hard time finding clean seating area. good food. But dirty tables and carpet

Tasty burger. Better than five guys in my opinion. But then again saying one fast food burger is better than the other is like giving out a trophy for the worlds tallest midget.

Tried their veggie black bean burger, and loved it. It was very filling for me, personally, and the ingredients seemed fresh and flavorful. Their fries are also delicious because they come seasoned and come with the burger. Also tried their Haagen Dasz nutter butter shake, and it was so good — not too thick nor too runny, just perfect and very rich! Glad to have a burger joint in town that has a good veggie option, as otherwise there is a dearth of such joints in this town.

Being from Cali I was going through In-​n-​Out withdrawals when we moved to KS. Thank goodness for SMASHBURGER! It’s obviously a different burger altogether vs. in-​n-​out, but nonetheless it has quickly earned its gold star. Fresh ingredients, delicious food and so many options to chose from! Besides the burgers, the sweet potato smashfries are beyond amazing. Also, kudos for offering the Udis GF buns!

I don’t know why I waited 3 years to check this place out. It was excellent!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Prices are reasonable. I dont know why other folks are complaining about price, for a family of five at McDonalds it costs an average of $ 28, here it was $ 30 but the ingredients were all fresh and I was actually full after! They have a black bean burger that is great! My wife is a vegetarian an she said that this was the best black bean burger that she has ever had, which is HUGE coming from her (black bean burgers are made in the back, not a prefrozen patty)! Kids meals were delicious and chicken strips are made of real chicken! It’s kind of sad that real food is a selling point in America. This place is definitely a return destination for us! Also, they have a military discount so… There is another plus.

They’re new, so they’re trying hard and it shows. I have no complaints and my expectations were met, with one exception.
I saw Smashburger featured on a Food Network show that showcased fried food. They mentioned that SM had deep fried veggies. What I didn’t expect was that SB just deep fries raw veggies, no breading. I’m glad that I tried a companion’s before I ordered some for myself. They are bland and greasy, don’t bother with them.
I should mention that the workers are great and the owner/​management clearly care about the place and want the customers to be happy.
Only reason why I didn’t give it 4-​stars: Too expensive.

Never heard of this chain before I visited this place. But hey, a chain «fast food» place where you can get burgers and beer? Great, I’ll try it!
Burger was cooked perfectly. Fries were very simple but exactly what they were supposed to be, and not overcooked, and not over-​salted. The onion straws on my burger were actually *not* deep-​fried into charcoal, but were onion-​y and genuinely complemented the burger.
The staff was friendly and helpful, although they actually came to my table *too many times* to see if I was happy or needed anything. I was reading and felt like being left alone. Overall, if this is a chain, I wish more chains were like this.

Check it out a couple of days of opening. Place is modern and very busy with a person up front showing you the menu, with other people greeting you and generally making you feel comfortable.
I just ordered the regular hamburger they had to offer. I believe it was 5 – 6 dollars, which is fair for a restaurant quality burger. The only dispute is they charge for fixing on the burger. 5 Guys offers this for free for the same cost of the burger.
The burger itself was very delicious and greasy as a burger should be. The ingredients used were very good.
If you want to skip the whole restaurant style places for a burger, check this place out. You’ll pay about the same without the extra hassles.

this place tastes good and has good décor, something only a handful of restaurants can pull off in Manhattan. The design of the restaurant is chic and hip. The burgers are super juicy, something no other burger joint in Manhattan can replicate. The fries are unique in flavor but they have normal fries if you want. Management was incredibly polite and helpful.
this place is more expensive than other fast-​food joints but i think its worth it.
