OMG I love this place– they make their falafel fresh and its vastly better than the Halal Food Guys. I can’t seem to find them along 39th and 3rd anymore. Does anyone know where they went? I’d be so sad if they shut down!

Rafiqis is delicious! Chicken, rice and salad. Lots of white and green sauce, which was spicy with a hint of fresh cilantro. Ideal lunch.

Pretty solid plate of food(got the combo chicken/gyro and rice for $ 5.75). I’d say the portion size is a bit light. It’s a little different from the standard chicken and rice street meat. They add a few little things like chick peas, corn, onion, cilantro, tomatoes, etc. But in all honestly I like it simple which is why I would keep going back to 53rd and 6th to the Halal Guys which keeps it simple — chicken, rice, pita and a bed of lettuce… and with a lot more quantity. Rafiqi’s is solid too, unfortunately I tried something I liked better, no fault to them. Next time I’ll probably opt for a gyro which seems like a deal for $ 4.

I know the fans of the Halal Guys don’t like Rafiqi’s, but I’m not a Halal Guys fan. I like Rafiqi’s much better. Unlike Halal Guys, the chicken here is seasoned and not minced, they have great toppings, such as corn, chickpeas, black beans, onions, and peppers, and I love three of their sauces: the white, the red and the green. The barbeque sauce is OK; not as good as the others; or maybe barbeque sauce does not have a place with this kind of food. My personal favorite is a combo of chicken and philly steak over rice with all the toppings. I find this truck to be much better than the other Rafiqi’s trucks and carts.

Rafiqi’s has the best gyros! Super tasty and flavorful. This is a food cart I search out and you know that they will serve consistently good food.

I’ll be honest, Rafiqi’s is one of the tried true food carts that I can consistantly count on for great quality, more toppings than anyone, and every one of them throughout the city I get $ 4 of happiness. Including happy friendly service.

Probably the best Rafiqi in NYC… it’s so good I might dare to nominate it for a top 10 selection for top food cart in this city too. I usually get the chicken with salad and yellow rice for $ 5. The salad is what really makes this special… lettuce, tomato, corn, green peppers, cucumber and cilantro. I always ask for extra cilantro because i love the stuff. Not many other carts offer this variety of veggies for salad, let alone carry cilantro. The chicken is always tender and rice good. I usually get the white sauce and a small hit of the hot sauce which is really hot… perfect compliment to the white sauce. The service is great, there’s 2 guys working this truck. Jessie’s the captain who steers this ship… always keeps the line moving and very friendly with all the customers. There’s 6 other food carts that are within 2 blocks of where i work, but none as good as this one.
