Christmas in New York City

Disclaimer– Don’t read this if you are a religious bigot, religious bully or easily offended.
Queens–
There are a lot of holiday events in Queens.
This review is specific to Jackson Heights.
Christmas is a time for us to volunteer (this year at a nursing home) it is a made up crazy holiday and a lot of people have a lot of ideas about it. We are pretty neutral on it. I respect others rights to believe how they believe just adding my 2 cents, I live my faith every day not just one day of the year.
We are people of faith but not religious.
Having said that, in NYC as long as I remember it is popular to go to China town for Christmas. First off Chinatown Manhattan is the dirtiest China town in America and I try to only go if I have jury duty and make a fun day of it but other wise I get much better Chinese food at home. The Chinese food in NYC, all 4 and a half of our China towns in NYC is pretty bad. And if you are from Toronto, San Fransisco or Hong Kong you know better or you should. Plus tourists have taken over Manhattan for Christmas.
So having said all of that we usually have Indian food for Christmas as China town seems like a fate worse than death to me.

I am pretty critical when it comes to Chinese food. With Indian food, I don’t know so much but I am picky in general and I have many allergies and I am pretty much a pain in the rear. (not always but when I go out I am) At home I have been known to want store bought fish sticks on occasion. We all have our demons.
Christmas in Jackson Heights (which we have done before) it is very crowded and grid locked.
It was so overly crowded this year, more so than any past year that I can remember so I think we will go back to Manhattan for Christmas. But hopefully at an undiscovered spot. Here are a few links about holidays in Jackson Heights.
