Any issues previous reviewers have with price are not relative to other beach stores… You can’t compare the convenience of getting a quality six pack from a store next to the beach versus having to run to Torrance for a Wal-Mart purchase. The staff is nice and the selection is vast for such a small store. they even carry Manhattan beach creamery ice cream sandwiches! Can’t ask for much better!

Time for an updated review … I am a local to Moon’s Market. Many benefits: 1. You can walk there. No need to drive(and on some weekends /nights … a better decision …) 2. Has a full selection of liquor, wine and beer.(again, walking distance) 3. Has all your basic grocery needs. Selected food, produce, snacks, etc. 4. Well stocked and restocked 5. Accept credit cards Things Moon’s isn’t: 1. Liquor priced like BevMo/Costco(If you run out, it is walking distance, and no need to try to drive) 2. A massive selection of grocery products, and priced like Ralphs/Vons(Again if you run out, it is walking distance). 3. Etc. And as for their being«unfriendly» … the family is great. Try smiling and being nice to them, they will be nice back.(Trust me, I see a lot of d-bags go in there and act like real a-holes) p. s. Dont like it? There are 2 other liquor stores north of Rosecrans. Go there.

Price on thing are exorbitant. Example — on a 6 pack of Kona ‘s Koko Brown was $ 10.50($ 7.39 at Bev Mo). Clerk ignored me until I spoke up. Very unfriendly. I walked out. Would never go in again.

I live close to Moon’s and shop there ONLY because it’s convenient. Otherwise, I would avoid it. Bottom line, the owners are assholes — very unfriendly and treat customers with disdain. They act annoyed and disturbed every time I go there — despite the fact that I am a regular customer. They could care less. I will say, the daughter is friendly.

If you are on the North End of Manhattan Beach and need to grab a soda, fruit or some essentials, Moon’s is a great place to go. They are a family run business that keeps their shelves well stocked.

Over priced Liquor store with a small grocery/produce section. I get it though that because its so close to the beach and there is no other liquor store near by. it is what it is. Bring cash and dont expect any smiles.

Worst store I’ve been to! Very rude & disrespectful owner! I will not ever come to this store again. Decided not to buy anything after his attitude. Don’t know why people open this type of business & be so disrespectful towards customers. Wish I can put no stars on this one.

Truly this is a locals only stop. Love moons, on random I can run down and find wonderfully fresh grapefruits and oranges, etc. Great stock, tiny bit pricey but I love the luxury of good, easy finds.

I have never met anyone who gives a sh*t less than the guy that owns this place. In retrospect, that’s kind of awesome, but in the moment, my girly feelings were hurt. I was housesitting in MB a week ago and made a stop here my first night to buy a bottle of wine(which I drank alone, don’t judge). Mr. Owner sighed each time I asked him for help. Whatever. It’s been a long day I’m sure. I stopped by a couple of days later with some friends and he couldn’t be bothered by anyone to look up from his Sudoku game to ring a sista up. My friend wanted to buy some gum for 5 cents out of the box under the counter that has gum in it and is labeled«5 cents» and he barked, «I don’t do that!» Um. Okay, I confess, she mainly wanted to buy gum for 5 cents so she could use her change for the parking meter and he was totally onto us… but still… he definitely could use a hug.

I’m a fan by default. I used to live down the block(in a overpriced shack). Moons has what you need if you are a local or a person who just suffered an hour of traffic on the 405 to get to the beach. The parking lot will fit either two Honda Fits or a UPS truck. So why stop here? Beer is super cold and they have decent(not good, decent) tall can specials. I always found the beer colder here than at the Vons in Downtown MB.

go in this morning for a few household items. give the guy a $ 20(it’s all i have…100% sure) and he gives me change for a $ 10 and insists that is what I gave him. if you are looking for overpriced wine and to get ripped off, this is your place! put a damper on an otherwise wonderful holiday weekend in manhattan beach.

oh man, what memories this place. wasn’t this one of the first korean groceries? except by the beach instead of in the ‘hood? i remember when it used to have a butcher case(and butcher to match) in the back. no longer there, but what the hey. for a day at the beach, this place was great. you could get sunscreen, cold sodas & beer, snacks, fresh produce for a beach picnic. and of course there’s the pizzeria next door. it’s still a perfectly quaint and local place to stop before a day at the beach.

A drive along the coast after lunch with former coworkers lead me down the road once again to the city at the end of the tunnel– Manhattan Beach. And as I drove along I looked around before stopping here thinking… «they probably have postcards in here.» The market was not just your standard l.q. with a few bottles of milk and newspapers(although I did grab a copy of the local rag and the weekly outside). It was fairly extensive with pet supplies, housewares, milk, a small selection of grocery items as well as junk food. Everything in the back was dusty. If living in the area, I could see it as a more common stop. There isn’t a real grocer close to the beach at all that I remember. However from a tourist/postcard junkie I was disappointed. This is a beach city. This is a storefront market right along a main road to downtown. Why were there not postcards there? It’s something so tiny that… well it’s mind boggling. Now I remember why I go to Venice so much. What a shame.
