A fun shop that has lots to offer the beginning musician. Lots of kids coming in & out of its doors which is a good sign that REAL music isn’t lost on the new generation. I’ve been playing for decades now and I shop here and they offer come cool courses. I wished they had an ear training course. I would go for that.

I just started taking guitar lessons here and I LOVE it. My teacher Robyn is an incredible teacher. I’ve learned more with her in the past three weeks than I had in six months with a teacher in LA. It’s laid back and completely enjoyable.

I first met John and Pat Dietz back in 1988 when I started taking guitar lessons. It was the beginning of a wonderful journey. I have learned so much about classical, pop, folk, and electric guitar from them. They have always given me great deals on guitars, and I now own 2 Martins purchased from the DBs. They have also helped me sell some musical instruments. Whenever I feel like taking an impromptu lesson, Pat fits me into the schedule. I have truly enjoyed coming back here frequently over the past 25 years.

This place is not only the best place in South Bay to purchase an instrument, it’s also the best place to improve your musical skills. I have purchased two guitars from here, one for me and one for my niece, and Erik worked with me to find what was best for both of us. This was especially important when I was buying my niece her first guitar, as she lives in Michigan. In addition, I have had new pickups dropped into my Fender Strat and they helped me determine what was best (different than what I originally wanted) and installed them expertly and in timely fashion. Lastly, I have take lessons from Erik for awhile now and my playing has gotten exponentially better — he can teach you any specific song you want or teach you music theory. Regardless, he formulates a plan based on what you want and how he can help you improve the most. If you can get a time slot with him (he is pretty booked up) do it, you won’t regret it!!! This should be your one stop shop for all your musical needs!

Hey this place sucks. I just asked for them to change a broken tuning key on my acoustic guitar. They told me it would take three days to three mos. I thought ok. I have been a professinal musican from HAWAII. rock blues reggae whatever. Its been over 3mos. I called them back and they didn’t know who I am. I’m not a soccer mom with a kid in a «rock band» nor do I drive a mercedes or a bmw. I had a simple request. Ive noticed since I’ve moved back here that everyone has an aloha sticker on their car but no one knows what that it means.
you advertize repairs and that’s all. I just asked for a tuning key deits bros. If thats how ever you spell it. Doesnt matter you guys suck. This one star is for being closer than my other options.

Called in on a Saturday at 5 for a C string and they actually close at 5 but waited until I was there, opened up again and sold me the C string. You guys made my day! Thank you so much!

I bought my first acoustic from Dietz Bros and got a great deal on it. I started taking lessons as a total amateur and received great instruction and feedback for a very reasonable price. The lessons were always flexible, moving at a comfortable pace, but always progressing and encouraging me to advance.
After only a few months of lessons, I was invited to participate in an open mic night there at the store. I balked at the idea, afraid to embarrass myself, but after a few more weeks of lessons, I felt I had the confidence and ability to perform in front of an audience. After almost bailing at the last minute, I performed (pretty well, if I may say so myself) and received positive feedback from all of the instructors. Such an amazing experience!

Private lot helps a lot with parking! Separate rooms for children to learn how to play their instruments. Bring your kids here, I take my brother here all the time!

Their prices on instrument rentals are very reasonable, and I bought a used mandolin from them at an excellent price. They teach on a wide variety of instruments and also do repairs. I am taking lessons there and very happy with Pat’s instruction and with the friendless and professionalism of the staff.

Purchased a Martin here several months ago and was very happy about taking my business to this family-​owned store over Guitar Center. They had the exact model I was looking for that everyone else had to special order. That afternoon I was in the car and headed to Manhattan Beach.
Went in to check it out and was pleased with what I saw. Their prices are comparatively standard to on the high side if you read the tag but they were able to knock some dollars off to where I was both surprised… and ready to purchase! They set up the acoustic for free as well and I was able to go back and pick up the next day.
To this day I’m very happy with my purchase and have no question referring other musicians here. I’m a professional musician and very picky about my purchases– I almost never buy new guitars, but Dietz Bros had what I needed at a price not much more than its used counterparts, plus all the warranty perks. Not a ton of stock but if they have what you want, bring your money here and let the big warehouse stores rot.

DIetz Bros. is the absolute best when it comes to professionalism and musicianship in the South Bay. The store has been building a loyal clientele for over 25 years and even a first time customer will feel like family. If they don’t have the instrument you are looking for, not to worry, they can order it for you.
I had them play at my wedding and it was such a comfort knowing that the guests would all be made comfortable and entertained. They have so much experience with manipulating a crowd to get them on their feet, or get them to quiet down when needed.
