Walked in and the place was pretty dead. However the bartender was really nice and attentive. We got our table she made our drinks and checked on us a number of times. She could’ve ignored us so she could close early hut that didn’t happen. I’ll be going back soon.

Great place, but as for the fact its a beautiful sports bar, it needs more happy hour specials and a crowd to make it a much better happenin’ spot to go have fun at.

Super fun place. They have the big pool tables as well as bar size on the other side. They also have corn hole, ping pong, foozeball, darts, basketball shoot game and shuffle bored. The bartender on Sunday night was really nice and helpful. My only critiques are that it get really hot in there and the food was terrible. Like worse than your average bar food. They should not even serve food there.

Stopped in on a Friday night for a late night drink. There weren’t very many people inside tonight. There is lots of pool tables, some foosball tables, a shuffleboard table, and even ping pong table! There’s a full bar and several TV monitors. Nice place… too bad it was a little boring the night we stop in. But I bet this place has lots of people when some of the local sports teams are playing.

This place is huge! There are plenty of TVs, lots of fun and games and even phones by the gaming areas to place your service orders! They have a good selection of beers on draft and the food is pretty good for a sports bar. The bar area can fill up fast during popular events, but the floor space on either side more than makes up for it. I’ve been there during the week and it’s been dead, but I’m not sure why, it’s a really cool place!

I thought this was a «sports bar». From personal experience when sports/football is on TV people are cheering loudly. My group(football fan club) of 20+ was told«we were too loud… this is a «family restaurant». Not a problem, we will take our business/money elsewhere. Good riddens!!!

Arrived at 7:30PM on Friday evening, 1/29, to watch Lakers– Clippers game(which was not on any of the TV’s amazingly) with wife and two adult children, left at 7:45. We came in and seated ourselves and at no point was our presence acknowledged. No «we’ll be right with you» no nothing! It was as if the man and woman behind the bar figured if they ignored us long enough we’d leave. So we did. Can’t comment on the food or drinks because weren’t offered any. We wouldn’t of minded waiting, we were there to watch the game, but again, we were invisible to the staff.

We have had two pretty well-sized parties here(30+), and I have nothing except compliments for the staff and the accomodations. Both occasions were a lot of fun, and I received tremendous feedback from everyone in my party. Robin was on point as my liason with phone contact, as well as in person assistance at the event. I was super nervous the first time as I hadn’t planned anything like this before, and people were driving from all over the South Bay to attend. Needless to say, after that, and another successful party, there is bound to be a third in our future. Plenty of games were played: Shuffleboard, ping Pong Pool(of course), and Air Hockey. Food is tasty, and the drinks were flowing. What more could you ask for?

Despite being such a big city, sometimes I feel as though LA lacks enough sports bars where the atmosphere is focused on sports, but is a little more upscale than a dive bar. Having seen 2nd Half in Manhattan Beach’s pictures I was intrigued and decided to stop in. Unfortunately, the first time I tried to go they were closed and I had to detour elsewhere. Well, last week, I was at Fry’s and popped in afterward to watch the game while I got some lunch. I have to say that what followed was one of the stranger restaurant experiences I could have expected. Despite being a Saturday and having sports on galore, the place was empty. A few people were leaving, making me the only customer at the time. So what made this so strange? Frankly, it just confused me that there were not more people present. The place itself was really nice, very clean with a family friendly atmosphere. On each side of the spacious restaurant there are pool tables, foosball, air hockey and shuffleboard. They had more TV’s than any sports fan could ask for and ample seating to ensure seats for all even with a crowd. The beer selection was impressive, with some nice local beers in addition to major national brands. Prices were reasonable too. I ordered the wings, which were delicious, featuring a buffalo sauce that had a hint of BBQ sauce mixed in. Also, the bartender, Morgan, was friendly and provided good service. She noted that nights are their busiest times so perhaps I’ll return at night. It was a good place to watch a game too so I would be interested in returning on an NFL Sunday. I’m not sure why it was so empty that day since everything was great. My only thoughts could be its location on Sepulveda or people trying to enjoy the daytime weather.

I took my employees here for an after-dinner game night and it turned into an absolute nightmare. We played pool for an hour and after we were done we went to cash out. After a lot of employee shuffling we learned that my ID was lost. Not only was my ID lost, but the staff became very standoffish and hostile even though we did nothing wrong. One very classy staff member even offered to fight one of my employees in the parking lot. Again, we only played pool and ordered drinks, we didn’t ask for our ID to be lost. The staff became increasingly hostile and we eventually had to leave. This establishment is an absolute joke ran by people who do not understand the service industry. The entire situation was handled poorly and now they will have a negative reputation with a very large group of locals as a result. Congratulations to the staff members who thought it would be «cool» to treat the patrons badly who were completely innocent of wrong doing.

Decent sports bar with a good amount of pool tables that are separated from the bar and dining area. Pricing is good, with discounts on tables in the daytime. Food(what we had anyway) was pretty good. They do some nice onion rings and have a great pretzel with a fantastic cheese sauce. They have really decent selection of beer on tap, including Alagash White from Maine. Overall we had a fun time playing pool for a few hours on a windy sunday.

For almost 2 years, I have been a regular at this bar. As for the staff, they are all like a tight-knit team. Someday, I would love to picture them working together as a team(mainly Lexy, Tyler, Robyn, and Brenna).

We used to come here when it was mr pockets. The ambiance & service just was amazing. Then we went today. And the service was horrible. The waitresses were too busy talking to the bartender we actually had to get their attention just to get served. The food was disappoint we had chili fries and they tasted burnt. Just a disappointment all together

Hardly a fantasy come true, but if management ever gets their act together this is going to be a fun sports and games pub. They have good pool tables and run-down ones, ping pong, shuffleboard, foosball, Big Game Hunter video games. Beer-wise, I like the Abita Amber and Allagash White — high-class beers to contrast with this slipshod bar. Our friends reserved a play section from 3 p.m. to close so we could do our Fantasy Football Draft.(I got Gronk, Odell Beckham Jr., C.J. Anderson, Russell Wilson and Tom Brady on my team.) Football Nerd glory. And then, a conflict. Another two-person party came in at 6 p.m. after we finished our Draft. They claimed they had reservations at our section. They wriggled their way right into the front of our ping pong game(really? You just interrupted our game, just like that!), and said they called to have this area to ourselves. And to get off. Oh, but in such an ingratiating way. Hey, the barmaid came over, and apologized, nevertheless we were kicked off. She was nice, but I just don’t think she had the spine to tell the others’ off. I mean, the«Couple» didn’t even have any other arrivals to their party yet. Also, a slap to the face, the management originally refused to let us use the upstairs facility as we had requested. Frowns, humility and frowns. #calamity

This place is pretty dope. Lots of pool tables! They have disc hockey and a shuffle board too. Went here on a weekend evening and pool tables were still available. I’m surprised it wasn’t more crowded. Standard bar food and drinks are decently priced for a bar in the South Bay. They have a lot of TVs all over the bar as well. If you’re into billiards or any sports team this is a great place to go. Staff is friendly too.

A group of friends and I went here last night(Friday night) for a couple birthday drinks. This place is massive! Huge venue, pool tables, cornhole, and a few other games. While I loved the gaming options, this isn’t a place to go to if you want a social surrounding. There were 7 of us in our group and about 3 other people in the whole place. On a Friday night, you’d expect any bar to have at least a few people to mingle with, but this bar doesn’t deliver on that level.

Love the remodel for 2nd Half(formerly known as Mr. Pocket’s Sports Bar). The setup is the same for the most part… everything is just brand new! It’s nice to see a clean sports bar that’s updated but still relaxed. One thing I love about Pocket’s was that the girl servers are really sweet and helpful. Also… their buffalo wings! Probably the best tasting buffalo wings in my opinion. The sauce is tangy and just perfectly made. Gladly, with the name change. the taste didn’t! Such a great spot for ANY sport. They have sports games, pool tables, HUGE tvs, karaōke(yes, karaōke) and other board games. I likey.

Went to 2nd Half for the first time last night after friends suggested we play pool. My friends had been there when it was Mr. Pockets and loved it. It’s since changed the name and remodeled, probably new owners. Upon walking in we were warmly greeted by Lexy who led us to the pool tables we had reserved. She took our drink orders and continued to make sure we were well taken care of the whole night. She was great with drink suggestions. I had a few Moscow Mules that were delicious! The pool tables are nice. There are plenty of them, which is nice so people won’t be standing around waiting for a table to open up. I believe it’s $ 15 an hour to play. The food is fantastic. We ordered the quesadillas, mozzarella sticks and the chili cheese fries. When I wasn’t too fond of the chili Lexy kindly exchanged them for cheese fries. Excellent customer service! The drink selection is also great. I would definitely return.

Had a party here and I was reluctant because of what Mr Pockets had unfortunately turned into. I needed a good spot to host around 70 people and since 2nd Half was near the guest of honor’s house, I chose this location for the party. I emailed about reserving a private area for our guests and received a prompt response from Robyn Nehring. Made all of my arrangements through her and when she was going to be out of the office for a couple of days, the owner, Bart, made sure to stay in contact with me. The party was AMAZING! The food was great, the girls(including Robyn who worked the party) couldn’t have been better! Any beer/item that wasn’t available at the upstairs private bar the girls would run up and down the stairs to the main bar to get. They were friendly, had great attitudes and made everyone feel comfortable. The inside has been completely redone, they changed all of their tap lines and the beer taste better(amazing how that can happen). The food was fantastic, overall a completely great experience. Since our party, my company has booked several more parties at 2nd half and we will continue to give them our business! As far as going here for a night out to watch sports or just have a good meal and bring the kids(pool, shuffleboard, video games, air hockey) this is a great place for anyone!

We got ripped off!!! My boyfriend and I went in on a Thursday evening and the posted price is $ 12/hour. We started at 7:15 and ended by 8:00pm. This was 45 min game and they said our charge was $ 18. I’m not a math wiz but obviously something doesn’t add up. Aside from being ripped off, we ordered food. I got the blackened chicken sandwich was way too salty. The food is a bit over priced for a pool hall. We will NOT be going back here again! The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of just one is because the places aesthetics was nice. Aside from that. I wasn’t happy.

Just came in for the first time since it’s become«2nd Half.» Gotta say I was very impressed. It has the same feel as the old Mr. Pockets, only much cleaner and nicer. They still had plenty of pool and ping pong tables. But have added shuffleboard and some new video games. They’ve also improved the menu, adding more food and beers. My girlfriend had chicken tenders, which she loved. I had a chicken sandwich, which was good, but incredibly salty. Our service was very good too. They had the Kings game on almost all the TVs and actually had the game volume on. Which is a very nice touch. And for a Saturday night, it didn’t feel crowded, even though there was a good bit of people there(perks of a big building). If I had to nitpick, I’d say that I wish they had a few more drink specials, and a better happy hour menu. BUT don’t let that discourage you from coming here. This is a really cool spot!

Food is great quality and prepared well. I like they use grass fed hot dogs. Hopefully more restaurants switch over to naturally/humanely raised meat products. Wish they had a few more selection of beers on tap, but the few they have are decent. Plenty of TV’s for all the sports fans, and then billiards and a few other table games are available for adults and families.

As a frequent customer of [what was known as] Pockets, I am so thrilled that it is coming back to Manhattan Beach, under a new name, now known as 2nd Half. I am so excited to work there, if they hire me. UPDATES: A few good things about the place: Employees: One of the waitresses to return from Pockets is the Lea Michelle/Rachel Berry lookalike. Bathroom: If you think the bathrooms were going to be remodeled, the only things added were the new stall doors(we get a real lock, rather than the gate lock), partitions for the urinals, countertop, mirrors, and the new hand dryer.
