Slow Service… Ordered a muffin for baby specifically asked if it could come out fast. 27 mins later the muffin served burning hot … Prices are very high for what is served… Go to other breakfast places this one is a no go

Food was delish, servings large, but not excessive. Service was a bit slow due to our Waitress training, but the relaxed atmosphere and great seat on the front porch made it barely noticeable.

I love the location… only a block to the lake, and the Cotton Club is my favorite! Great service, friendly staff, good prices and great place for lunch meeting or family breakfast!

Glad to see that this building re-opened as another breakfast-brunch focused restaurant. We came here for brunch one Sunday with the family, about 7 people total. The service was somewhat lacking — it took a long time for someone to take our drink order, and we were offered refills only toward the end of the meal. Each of us ordered a breakfast platter, which was quite expensive; however, the amount of food was decent for the price. Some of us had asked for exceptions, no guac, or meat on the side, etc., and these exceptions were forgotten. This was especially problematic for my boyfriend’s brother, who is a vegetarian. He was nice, though, and simply scooped the meat out of his omelette. We also noticed(what appeared to be) a manager going around, speaking with tables, checking on the meal, but our table was not approached. Had they spoken with us, we might have addressed these issues in-person. We’ll probably give it another try because it’s one of the few decent brunch spots in Mandeville, and we had such good memories with A Broken Egg Café. However, we will be careful about our orders and making sure that our needs are fulfilled properly.

Four ½ stars! Had a very good experience here today for lunch. Great ambience and easygoing atmosphere here. Very light and airy with a nice breeze. Fantastic spot for a casual breakfast or lunch. Awesome location-walk to the lake. Very nice outdoor seating area as well. They have a great brunch/lunch selection. The menu is clear and easy. My mom had the Sunshine salad(shrimp) which she very much enjoyed. I had the waffle bites with fruit. The waffles were delicious, the strawberries fresh and tasty, but the blueberries and blackberries were something of a sweetened purée of fruit spooned on top of the dish. It was a little too sweet for my taste, but others may well enjoy it that way. Fresh fruit would have been better(Hence the half star off). Service(Lexi?) was very courteous as well. Very attentive and friendly. Men’s room was adequately clean as well.(Faucet should be tightened to the sink.) Only downside I see is that it’s a little small and fills quickly, so you may be waiting for your table.

Don’t ever get the hamburger! Couldn’t even eat it. Tasted like fake meat and very nasty. Waitress didn’t seem to care, and was very slow with the service. This was at 12:30 and they weren’t very busy so there is no excuse for the lousy service and food! I won’t be going back.

This place was within walking distance of where we stayed– very charming! The food is great, we ate there for breakfast. The coffee was weak. I had to get my morning cup of tar elsewhere but overall I would recommend. I had the Eggs Benedict. The portions are huge– could only eat half.

I’ve only had the breakfast here a couple of times since it changed names. The food is pretty good, but a bit overpriced in my opinion for what you get. The service is really what merits the three stars. We barely ever saw our server and the food service was extremely slow. I’d give it another chance. May have been growing pains.

I love this place! My wife and I come here regularly and are never disappointed. Great local business with that small family owned feel. Good food and good atmosphere.

My wife and I decided to give this place it’s 5th and final opportunity to redeem itself. We showed up at 730 when the place opened and had to walk around to find someone to see if it was ok to take a seat. Once we were sat not a single person came to take a drink order or even our breakfast order. We both sat patiently for 10 minutes and watched as another couple came in and sat down after us. Not only did they receive drinks before we did but also there server took their full order. After 15 minutes with no one coming to our table waiting we decided to leave. The only reason this place is still in business to due to the limited options for breakfast restaurants in Mandeville. We will not be coming back here ever again. I’m an sincerely disappointed in the management and staff. Update* I had have a successful conversation with the owner of this establishment. I do sincerely appreciate the time and effort he put in to rectifying the situation. I do not feel it would be necessary to receive compensation as his investigation of the issue was plenty. I do hope this is a learning experience for his staff members and that these mistakes become fewer and far between. Exceptional customer service requires attention to the details even those that may seem trivial. Later on down the road I will consider a return if there is a positive change in customer service.

New Orleans omelet was awesome. Order it! Bring a coin to flip. Deciding what to get will be tough.

Might as well call this place the«still the Broken Egg Café.» Nothing’s changed! Same menu, same homestyle décor, same management I believe too! Why they«closed» TBE, I have no idea.

This is a charming little restaurant in an old raised cottage that serves wonderful food. The Blue Crab Benedict is awesome. I ordered it on recommendation from my sister. She loves the place and dines here frequently. The crab cakes were almost entirely crab and very flavorful. The potatoes served with the dish were the perfect accompaniment. The coffee is good as well as the service.

Everything was great! My husband and I were looking for a quaint spot to have brunch, and we found it. The LaLou bloody mary is a winner– seasoned perfectly and garnished with many goodies including pickled okra. I had the veggie eggs benedict on wheat english muffin with the sauce on the side and it was just right for me. Not too heavy and eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband had the tamales benedict and also finished his plate. Our server was also great. Kerri had the entire front(small) room, was triple sat, and still provided us with excellent service. We will definitely go back… maybe even make it our regular brunch spot. Betsy & Trip

Service here is great! Coffee is always hot & food is fresh! All the omelette plates are delicious! Today I had the club sandwich & added a fried egg is was so yummy! This place makes you feel like your right at home! One of the best brunch spots on the northshore!

Some of the worst service in the Northshore area. Food was marginal except the potatoes which were good.

We loved the food! I ordered the simple breakfast with bacon, which was perfectly cooked, and scrambled eggs which were perfectly seasoned. The potatoes were very crispy and tasty! My husband ordered the Covington omelet(which was misspelled in the menu!) but still very good! Our waitress was busy but cute and sweet. The atmosphere is charming, love the décor and the feel. The coffee was very good, too! We will definitely be returning!

Formerly the Broken Egg Café, Highly overrated & overpriced, as one would expect with so few breakfast choices in Mandeville. Highlights: the sweet breakfasts, especially Brioche Stuff, a couple of the omelets(they spell omelet wrong, so watch out!), and the Lakeshore Scramble. Great bacon! Stick to the«Simple Breakfast» which is «only» $ 8.99. Haven’t tried any of the lunch entrees. A glass of milk for your kid will set you back $ 3, so byo.

I liked the broken egg so much better, this place just took over and filled it with bad servers and cooks. I ordered a classic eggs Benedict, simple right? Well as you can see from the picture I posted they were WAY over done. It’s the morning so you expect people to drink a lot of coffee yet my husband and I had one refill thanks to some kind stranger who asked if we needed anything else because our server just up and vanished the entire time we were seated till it came time to collect our money. Not a fan of this new place and I definitely won’t be returning… R.I.P broken egg Just want the owner to know since you so kindly responded to my last review, that I gave your establishment another chance, exactly four months later after my last review. Came here at 8 o clock in the morning when it was not busy, I checked in on Facebook to receive a free coffee only nobody ever came to take any kind of drink order. People that were sat after us and right next to us receive drinks and even got their order taken all while we sat there with nothing for TENMINUTES. Until we finally walked out, you need a new staff, or to not be in the restaurant business because this is the third and last time I will ever come here. The first time I had hair in my food, the second time my Benedict was so over cooked, and this last time we didn’t even get any kind of acknowledgement from the what seems to be high school staff you’ve hired. Absolutely disappointing … The name change definitely did not help and it’s not fooling anyone.
