I went to La Madeleine around 5:30 pm on 11/23/2015 to see if I could put together a desert platter or get a whole cheesecake. When I walked into the bakery section it looked very disorganized, case was half emptied and girl behind register was talking on the phone. The problem I had was everything looked unsanitary and old. The counters and glass on case were not clean actually fifthly. Floor was disgusting. The deserts did not look fresh nor appetizing. Sloppy looking deserts no pride by whoever made the deserts. I have eaten and bought at the bakery at La Madeleine for many years and loved it but no longer may do so due to disgusting conditions. The girl behind the register never acknowledged me but by this point I decided to shop elsewhere for a cheesecake or desert platter because I would of been ashamed to show up with La Madeleine deserts for the event I was shopping for. I would not recommend!!!

I love La Madeline for breakfast and their bread is heavenly. Best baguettes ever. Soup and sandwich for lunch is always a good bet as well. I have never been disappointed in my choices here.

First of all, this place used to be my #1. After getting out of school this was one of our stops. I am in love with their tomato basil soup! It is SO good. Problably the best soup I have ever had. I havent been here in a about a year or so… yestersday my mother and I decided to stop here, have a cup of coffee and some dessert… OMG. THEREWAS A LINEASLONGASTHEMISSISSIPPIRIVER. We patiently waited for our turn, to only be stopped by the cashier girl who tells us she cant serve us anymore because there was a funeral party that needed to be attended and that it was going to take a out 30 – 35 minutes for anyone to attend us…-.- needless to say I flip the f*ck out. I told her we had been waiting for about 20 minutes for just dessert and coffee… its not that hard to cut a slice of cake, pour a cup of coffee… unbelieveable.

Very unorganized the last time I went here. There is a SYSTEM to La Madeleine’s and they just weren’t using it for some reason. We were a bit confused once we got our food and sat down, but the food was good and I just LOVE the free toast and jelly. Also, the Mango tea is my favorite. Try the eggs Benedict for breakfast. best I’ve ever had. The sampler is good too, and I usually pick the chicken salad, spinach salad with strawberries and bacon, and either a soup or the strawberries with the white alcoholic sauce on them.

I like eating here. The soups are always wonderful(The tomato basil is really good), and the desserts are divine. The food off of the menu is wonderful, but I like getting food straight off the line. No matter what you get, I recommend trying the Strawberries Romanoff on the side. The service can be kind of slow, which is another reason to stick to the line, but I never leave unhappy.

Been here many times in the past for breakfast. The last time we went it was subpar. Got the French Toast and when it got to the table it was cold. Think they thawed it out and dumped it in a plate. Asked for syrup and got a container the size of a thimble full of syrup. I actually laughed when it got to my table. Asked for more and they never came back to the table. For the most part you wait on yourself here but when you do have a problem or need something other than a cup of coffee or a napkin they should respond. .. .. they didn’t. I would have given them one star but the coffee was good.

I strongly like La Madeleine for the following reasons: super fast, buffet style food(mostly), healthy options, vegetarian options, desserts are incredible! Now, the caveats: Small portions for $$, frequently change menu items– this can be a great thing or a real bummer . I will always return here regardless of the caveats. Outdoor seating is worth at least 3 stars to me! Privacy is usually easy to come by & take out is super quick, folks that work here will go out of they’re way to accommodate special dietary needs, etc…

I love La Madeleine. The food is pretty consistent for a chain. I went there Tuesday night with my girlfriends this week. The service was super slow. They seem to be employing many high school kids. And they just weren’t all that into it. I waited in line for about 15 minutes before getting my order taken. The lady behind me ordered the same thing. I waited and waited then moved on down and paid. Next thing you know the lady behind me is walking off with her food(my food). It just was disorganized and many simple mistakes were being made. Other customers were annoyed. It took them 20 minutes to make my friend an ice coffee. It wasn’t all that busy. No one was rude or anything I just think the manager needs to be more on the ball with their employees. The service kinda sucked.

La Madeleine had a lot of delicious looking options – I had a difficult time deciding, which is strange for a vegetarian in Louisiana. I ended up getting crepes with strawberries and a cinnamon sour crème sauce. The crepes were good, but I could have done with a little less sauce. My boyfriend had a very good Mediterranean pasta. Additionally, we sampled croissants and donuts for breakfast one morning, and I found all to be enjoyable. The service was quick and unobjectionable. La Madeleine seems a good place for a quick and healthy meal.

I have to agree with the other reviewer. I’ve been going to this La Mad for a few years and more often than not have had bad service and bad food. I was there last week for lunch and with the new and not improved vegetarian sandwich, basically I got a little piece of bread(on the sweet and soft side at that) with a little piece of sweaty cheese and a slice of tomato. It was suppose to have pesto, but it had some kind of mayo instead. I was going to give a Eek! Unilocal and saw this previous entry. They always over dress the salads. This time around we had several people in our group and in an effort to simplify things the manager ended up confusing everyone especially himself. I also happened to eat at this location a few weeks ago and stuck with the spinach quiche and it wasn’t bad. However, often the quiches are burned a bit too much. Overall I think all of the La Madeleines in the Greater New Orleans area have gone down. Too bad.
