Nicely preserved woodlands with cedar groves and natural rhododendrons in huge mounds. See website above for info/maps. Small parking lot with info kiosk, free, about a half mile up Countryside Blvd. Trails are very easy, excellent for small children as elevation gains are small and slopes are fairly easy. narrow boardwalk at cedar loop, careful of kids. One large loop trail with two others making a total of 1.8 miles. The eastern rhododendron loop goes under high tower electric cables and is overgrown and rocky. Leads to some nice hidden ponds. Watch for old trails no longer in use and follow yellow tags and wooden posts at crosspaths. Lots of interesting flora, wildlife sparse but the neighborhood is full of deer. Pond areas best bet for wildlife viewing/picnicking. Interesting boulders here and there. Allow for 2 hrs if taking time to relax, one hour if you just want to scoot through all the trails. The area beyond the Nature Conservancy trails is open to hunting during season so wear bright headgear and be noisy if out of preserve trails area. No facilities, take out what you bring in.
